  1. Nice and welcome to the LuxJet club Jack
  2. After a few attempts at uploading this vid to photobucket it has finally worked... I think. Here is what the 3.5" DiF sounds like on my car. Jack
  3. Uploading a vid to photobucket now... @ 5.xx mb/s... could be here all night. It's asking me to go Pro. Not now Photobucket lol I'm trying to upload a video. Jack
  4. I have a Di Filippo in 3.5" stainless on my car and I love it! It isn't the quietest by any means, it certainly isn't a trait of the DiF exhausts to be quiet... especially below 2k in the first 2 or 3 gears. Get around those gears and it's fairly quiet. Still noticable but what it does have is a great note on start up and idle, backed up again when backing off the throttle. FG I am with you that I thought you couldn't have a great note from a 4L engine. I have now changed my mind. At freeway speed or really anything 80kph or above you wouldn't even know the car had an exhaust on it. Very quiet. I'll see if I can get up a video of my car in my garage on start up. When ever I take anyone from my house for a drive first thing they notice is the 044 switch on at accessories and then the burst of the exhaust as the car comes to life! At 4.50am each morning I'd hate to think what the neighbours think of it... no nasty letters left in the letterbox though so it can't be that bad! Jack
  5. When it's done I'll throw up some pics for you. It will be nice to have the oil temp and boost gauge without having to resort to autometer's. Jack
  6. Won't be able to make it to Heathcote mate... don't laugh but I have 1yo's birthday party on that day. Ah... the joys of having mates who are now all having children Jack
  7. Yeah David, the boost gauge is in Bar and it reads up to 1 bar... it'll be spending a fair chunk of time there I think! The other one is oil temp. I thought it was pressure... it goes to 150c. The dash cluster I bought from FTG Autosalvage, it's brand new for $425 with $20 delivery to the door and Herrod have quoted me $100 to fit it. Jack
  8. Calder has been put off due to the weather... always next time. Jack
  9. Update time! I ordered a brand new FG F6 cluster last week. It arrived today. I spoke to Theo at BPR and he put me on to Rob at Herrod Motorsports and they are able to fit it for me. Easy done! Just need to find the time now as they will require the car for 1/2 a day. As the old cluster needs to be removed and it's VIN locked etc... oh well all good things come to those who wait! On the subject of booking in the car, the Plazmaman turbo side intake has arrived and the car is booked in to BPR late next week to have that fitted and a final tune done! It's all coming together now. Very happy indeed. My plan as it stands right now is to still go to Calder on Friday night if the weather holds in Melbourne, unfortuately with the forecast it doesn't look like it's going to. So my cars debut at the drags will more than likely have to wait till next time. If it does go ahead then it'll be done on my daily driven street tyres the first time to just see how I go. Jack
  10. Yeah the stock airbox, it really depends mate. You try and mash in 25psi through a car with the stock crossover and airbox but it won't make power efficiently. It can be done though if that makes sense. What doesn't make sense is to do it in the first place Jack
  11. Eventually mate. Might hopefully get something from when we take the car to the drags. Jack
  12. Nice bike there Tuono! And Pookey, I have feeling it'll run low 11's mate when I learn how to pedal it at the track. It might fluke a 10 eventually on ET streets. We'll have to see wait and see. Right now I'm just waiting to hear back from BPR for when my turbo side intake arrives and then we'll get the final tune in the car and it'll be ready to race. As it sits right now, the car has an easy tune in it running 365rwkw @ 15.5psi. It's fun! Believe me! Jack
  13. Good post Tuono. One of my good mates from work had a CBR 1000 bike, went to Calder a number of times with a best of 10.4 @ 138MPH. If I can run anything near an 11 in my car then we car going to have some sport bike fun on 4 wheels It's all relative in then end. Straight line grunt on the street is going to be king, always will. It's not often you get a chance to have a crack through the twisites with something that is absolutely designed for purpose. Then you know your place. Though will the Porsche have a chance straight line? Maybe not. Jack
  14. Cheers Ryno! That's the plan mate! Speaking to Ryan at BPR he was joking away as we all do when there but he did say there won't be much on the street on 4 wheels that'll have a hope. He said look for the kids on 2 and give them a scare... playing with sports bikes in a 2T Falcon, now, that sounds like a hell of a lot of fun! Jack
  15. For all the mods? Including the brakes, full suspension with upgraded bushes in the rear, new tyres all round and ZF service with 75k service ect or just mods for more power. It's over 15k all told now but that includes absolutely everything. I'm sure there will be plenty out there who will tell me I could've done it this way or that or done it cheaper if I'd gone here or over there. Don't bother with those comments if you are going make them please :thumbsup It was done this way to allow the bearings to bed in properly. Don't worry XYZ I've copped an ear bashing from all and sundry about it. This is what I was told to, so I did it I know of a guy who did 40 laps of a race track in his car the day after his TrueTrac was fitted... it was done in an attempt to keep the diff quieter later in it's life. And plenty of other people's run in routine Lee lol That's about right mate, it doesn't have a stock diff in it like the factory cars. The car now has a proper mechanical LSD, not clutches here just gears! Powers down good and proper too! Wouldn't change a thing! Jack
  16. Cheers Paulie! I'm just trying to make my car in to the one I had pictured in my head when I bought it 3 years ago Getting there mate. I have a slightly scared feeling that it's going to be just completely off it's head haha... the way it can put a huge hating on the back tyres now is fun. Awesome! Jack
  17. Small update... Finally the 1000km run in for the Harrop TrueTrac is done. Plazmaman turbo side intake with battery relocation has been ordered today by Blue Power. Once that arrives then we can retune the car for a final time. Might be this week, or early next week. Can't wait! Jack
  18. Happy Birthday G6ET8U!

    Performance

+ for Blue Power in Campbellfield. Jack
  20. GTX turbo on my FG. So. much. win. Jack
  21. Hey buddy, The cone replacement pipe being talked about here is pictured below as the stainless piece going from the turbo to the crossover on my car... I found mine on eBay for $90 second hand. Still using it now with all the mods on my car but I have now had it powerdercoated satin black. Get yourself either a complete replacement CAI utilising a pod filter with heat sheilding like a BPR airbox, these are fairly expensive though, or the plazmaman as linked to above. Especially if you plan on modding the car as the aftermarket piping kits fit very easily around this style of CAI rather than the factory style with intake snorkel. Next step is to block off the BOV. It is easily done. It will add the tututu back off throttle sound. Nice Bunnings sells the parts required for this and they are pictured below. Believe it or not but they are rubber chair leg stoppers. This is to block the vacuum hose. And 2 hose clamps to try and maintain a factory look. From Bunnings this cost a grand total of $12.83. These mods alone will give you what you are looking for. Jack
  22. 16th March... Calder Park. Weather permitting I'll run it. Jack
  23. No doubt Matty! Late 300's I thought I'd get to with the GTX... we'll see. Another couple of psi and the car should get there. Mid 400's on a daily tune... LOL... talk about mad man. I must thank you too for your input with your car on the phone when I spoke to you. Team Bad Homer FTW! I knew in my heart I wanted a car that would run near 400rwkw... what it runs on the track is what it runs. Having a close mate with his low 12 sec GTR tell me my car would hose his... now that is priceless :D Thank you for not trying to talk me out of it. If anyone called me cold now I would do the same thing as what you did me. Jack
  24. As above... this is with a very nice tyre on the back. Toyo T1S... it only just holds on through 2nd. For what it's worth they are doing an admirable job of attempting to keep the power to the ground. I know having had rubbish tyres on the back of a quick car previously that these are doing so much better. They don't throw you around, nothing stupid. Quiet too. Win/Win Jack
