Nice one Converted the GTX with a turbo side intake certainly makes plenty of noise... music to my ears! You'll love the GTX mate! Even on a soft as tune they haul complete ass! Jack

Nitto 275 NT05R on a 17" rim... I have since bought a set of 16" steelies with 255 MT ET's. Strangely enough side by side they are actually wider than the Nitto's... Jack

Thanks for that old mate Trying things at the drags is the next thing I'll try and do... I will be honest and say I get a bit overwhelmed when sitting on the line at the drags, I just need to take a deep breath and gather my thoughts. Something I have yet to do so far... Just a small update too, the diff problem I encountered at Heathcote last time out seems to have gone away all by itself. Crazy but true. The boys at Blue Power dropped the oil out and it was as good as gold. Plenty of tiny, tiny metal flakes in there but to be expected on the very first oil change in a mechanical LSD. It's slightly more noisier than before so who knows what went wrong and then righted itself. Might be a binding issue but I've been advised it is something that only really happens in race cars... not daily driven street cars. I've also purchased a new tailshaft for the car that will cop a few upgrades in the next week or two. New stronger rear section, centre bearing etc and just uprated stuff. It will allow for a more aggressive tune down low at the drags to assist with the car 60ft'ing much better. Next on the to do list after that is a billet input shaft for the my brand new ZF and then get that fitted. In the mean time I'll keep racing the car when I get the chance and see if I can be a bit more organised on the line but also go for 125mph+ and a very low 11 sec pass full weight Jack
-
Quick question for you Jimmi, what part of your tailshaft failed? I am looking to upgrade mine too. Jack
-
I figure as much. Something I don't do on the street is use any level of 1st gear on boost, there is no point. 2nd gear full noise power skates are awesome until the tyres heat up and then it's grip everywhere. Full grip it's like sitting on the very pointiest end of a missle... so much so it's actually scary how quickly it builds speed in such a short space of time! I love it! Jack
-
Absolute and utter complete lack of any kind of practice what so ever I think. Perhaps the tune plays some part in that too, as I specified that I wanted the car to come up nice and easy on boost, rather than be a wheelspinning, transmission destroying tyre fryer. That kind of stuff can be left until the spare new ZF I have gets a billet input shaft and a built engine ends up between the strut towers Jack

Went out to Heathcote again on Sunday. PB'd again 11.48 @ 123.5MPH with a crap 60ft again of 1.95! Very happy with the PB and if I can drop the 60ft to around 1.70 or lower a 10 sec time slip is there for the taking! Sadly we had to pull the pin early as I thought I'd hurt the car. Specifically the diff. It oringinally felt like a CV but didn't lose any drive. It then hopped around corners on the way back to the pits... like an old school locker was fitted. In the end we were able to drive the car home (140kms) and the issue only showed it's head when turning sharp corners slowly... the car was going perfect in a straight line Ended up parking the car at a mates place and then this big metallic clunk is heard. Thought WTF and got back in and drove it around the block... problem gone lol no grinding, no jumping, nothing. Back to normal. Go figure! Took the car in to BPR this morning and Monday week we'll drop the diff oil out and take a sample and send it off to see what is happening. Either way I am absolutely stoked with the ET and MPH but my 60ft's are terrible. There is a 10 in the car... whether there is 1 in me is debatable lol Jack
-
Pookey I picked it up through a friend of mine mate. Just right place, right time kind of thing. The ECU stuff I am not sure about mate. BPR have assured me it will be fine when the time comes. Jack

Sorry lads I've been slack lately on this forum! Change of job/career, moving house and generally just completely falling out with my old man in the last few months. I have taken it to the track, last Sunday afternoon actually. Will definately being going again! Ran 11.7 @ 122.7 with a fairly slack 1.95 60 foot... Only had 1 run, on brand new slicks (NT05R) with a pathetic burnout that hardly even took the stickers off lol... TRA1NER yeah mate I have new wheels, I managed to get hold of some original DJR BBS Challenge wheels from the BA GT's Dick Johnson did. 9.5" rear was what I was after and something that would clear Brembo's, sadly I bought a set of 6 spot Brembo's and they were stolen from my security cage at my new apartment only 2 weeks ago. Shattered to say the least about the brakes. Especially when I found out my house insurance and my car insurance both don't cover them... just had them and now they're gone :( Here is the car with the BBS wheels... I am now running Toyo T1 Sport tyres on the front and Nitto NT05 in 275 on the rear. Nitto's are crazy good grip wise when they are warm! Bit slippery when they aren't :D I also managed to get hold of a brand spanking new ZF in case the one I have dies more insurance than anything. That's about it for now but I will be taking the car back to the drags, more than likely Heathcote again in 2 weeks time. Jack

It's on BP Ultimate 98 Snapper. And Matty, no I haven't yet mate. The last couple of times Calder has been on I have already been booked with dinner, birthday's etc... but this one coming I'm not booked for anything. May 12th so should be in position to run the car then. I'll have to get hold of some slicks too! Jack

Post Your Max 3540 (3582R) And Gtx3583R Power Figures!

Stock as the day it left the factory. No aftermarket valve springs in mine. Jack -
Just get a turbo side. Stop being a *beep*. Nike said it best... JUST DO IT! There is something to be said about the look on the kids, Mum's pushing prams, people waiting at the station and the elderly's face pushing their zimmer frames down the street when my car goes past going for full noise that they think 'Surely... this isn't end now?' Jack

I've got one (GTX 35/82R) on my G6E Turbo. It's off it's head! I would hardly call it laggy! It's making worthwhile boost under 3000rpm. Full boost available from around 3500rpm and with a fairly soft boost curve (tops out at 18psi) with my tune to try and contain the wheelspin it still is a very skatey car. Fast... crazy fast. Love it! Jack
-
Not bad eh! This car just makes me smile every time I start it to go anywhere Jack
-
Cheers mate! Running a calc on rwhp the car is making close to 540rwhp and then allowing for an 18% loss through the driveline this car as it stand has over 600hp and still looks outwardly completely factory standard. It doesn't sound stock getting anywhere near it on boost and I still find people near the car looking around as they can't work out where the hell the war is coming from Love it! Jack

FG G6E Turbo. BP Ultimate 98 GTX 35/82R. 18psi. 394.2rwkw through a ZF auto. Jack -
I call it in! I have just put the same turbo on my G6ET and got 394rwkw at 18psi. Wow the car is super strong now. Yours would be just as good! Enjoy Jack

Thanks Tuono! Really cool to read posts like that mate! Jack

Grip is great Worm. As I plan on keeping the factory wheels in place then I am fairly limited to tyre size. Currently I have a 240 wear rating tyre on the car in 245/35/19 so that is pretty soft rubber really. The boost has been intentially kept out of the car early on. It's so easy to drive really fast. Point, hang on real tight, stand on it and GO! Wheelspinning 2nd feels quick when in reality it isn't. Powering down, straight and hard with very little wheelspin is really quick. It'll skate a tiny bit through 2nd if provoked enough but I'm not looking for a wild car like that. Jack
-
Cheers Lads! Absolute Jekyll and Hyde car. Looks like Dr Jekyll and goes like Mr Hyde! Perfect fit for me. Jack
-
is probably the first response from me... well what a daily driver Darth is going to be. As requested by me, we have kept the boost curve quite linear so it's not a wheelspinning mess to drive. Objective achieved! It really is just slap you around the face fast. Off it's absolute nut really but 394rwkw will do that this has been achieved on 18psi. Dyno sheet is here... The Plazmaman turbo side intake/battery relocation is super neat. Factory looking fitment, brilliant. It's a complete and utter screamer on boost too! Haha I'm smiling/shaking my head just sitting here writing this. What have I done! It's so awesome. First impressions are that throttle response has improved markedly. Less throttle required for more output. Plenty of win right there. It's quiet as a mouse under 2k but anymore than that has Darth is really showing his teeth and breathing, no, heaving just egging me on to go a little more, give a little bit more throttle. Here is the engine bay as it sits now. It needs a good clean up due to the now deleted parts and being a bit dusty. I'll have to get a clip of it up, I'll do that tomorrow I think. This car just needs to be heard coming up on boost. It is that mad. That's all I can think of right now I'm in love... all over again! Jack
-
Cheers Tuono! It's got plenty of balls at idle! Initially for the first day or two I was worried that it would be a bit sharp going forward, but it's carboned up nice and it's now just a beautiful deep note. Get up it and you can't even hear the exhaust... it's all GTX turbo! 0-100 being an auto will be quick. 60kph + and there isn't anything on the street on 4 wheels so far that's gotten close. Jack
-
Here is the exhaust clip FG50T Update too! Dropped the car in at Blue Power this afternoon. Plazmaman Turbo Side Intake with Battery Relocation and final tune! Having had a good chat with Chris about how I would like the power to come on, I've decided and was also advised that hitting the boost in early is going to rip my input shaft off for one and for two it will just be a wheelspinning mess. Neither of these things do I want. Chris intentionally made the boost curve more linear with the 'run in' tune that is currently in the car and I like it. It is very predictable, it's almost dumb how easy this car is to drive quickly... but better than that it's fast. Very little wheelspin in 2nd, basically none with some heatsoak. Just bloody fast, power down, straight and honestly if you keep it pinned, the car can get on the right hand side of the speedo very quickly indeed. Almost scary how quick it gets there. The only indication of how fast you've just gone is just how far away the cars that were with you are now nowhere to be seen. Goneski... That's what we are aiming for here. So now the wait begins!! Excited much? You bet! Should have the car back on Friday afternoon and will post results etc then! Jack

Garrett GT 35/40 is the turbo you're after. Jack

Wouldn't change it out love the note! Cracking system! Jack
