  2. Hey boys This afternoon I went out with a couple of mates to get a nail out of one of my factory 17's... I ended up buying 20's Here's a pic, I love the black against the phantom. What do you boys think? As soon as I saw them I knew I had to get the moss out of my purse and get them... I've only had my car for 6 weeks and I can't leave it alone Jack

  5. reading these last couple of posts... I reckon I have paid too much for my car...26k-30k, 17's, no premium sound, no premium brakes and no 18's... I got mine for 32k on the road from a dealer. If you read my sig I have added all the none standard modifications to it in the last 6 weeks... Oh well... that's life, someone has to be sucker in this game if only I had known of this site before I had even started looking for an XR(damn you Holden/HSV)... maybe I would have had prem sound, 18's and an auto which are quicker... I will make do with what I have got Jack

  7. Hey dingah... Yeah it is... I bought my T about a month ago with no knowledge of this site and found out that VicRoads had released the 'letters/numbers/letters' personalised plates and thought that they (XR6T8U) would be the coolest plates I could think of so I ordered them and must say was quite pleased with myself..., I then went looking on the net for somewhere to feed my found addiction for forced induction and found this site and became a member. Had a look around and ended up downloading the BCL's video's thread links and felt like a bit of dick as I had unknowingly copied one of the maddest XR's going around... I really hope Brian doesn't mind... he hasn't PM'd me with abuse or anything. But then again he probably doesn't even know that I exist either... Jack

I tell you I thought it would be heaps stiffer than standard over bumps and stuff in general driving but because they are progressive rate springs they don't seem to load up as much so they provide a more compliant ride... though in saying that it holds the road HEAPS better and rides HEAPS flatter through corners Very pleased!!   10. I have had my manual T for about a month now... it turns 3 in December, and I haven't reset the trip computer and it is returning 14.4L per 100kms. This is a about the same as my old HSV Senator (factory 215i auto 355ci stroker) returned but if the lead foot *beep* comes out of me then it would climb very quickly... the T not so much, it is far better on juice at cruising speeds and over all. Haven't had the chance to take it out on a bit of trip to really see what it does... I get about 420kms to a tank of 98ron petrol... what do you guys get? My T is cheaper to refuel than the Senator ever was... Senator used to cost me $90 odd dollars everytime and the T only $70 odd and the tank lasts for basically just as long so I believe without having looked further in to it that the FORD trip computer is a little bit out but the right way rather than the HSV's wrong way... Are they gonna be stupid and price it above standard Optimax at 12-15c over standard unleaded per litre or are they going to be smart and price it at 8c per litre above standard unleaded...   13. Hey hey!!! At last we get a 100RON fuel... pity they have added ethanol to it just to add a bit of mystery... I will speak to my service manager (Knox Ford) and see what he says and then take it from there. If it's all good then woo hoo!!! But it seems promising... Jack

Yeah... $1000.00 at a time, but I am doing quite a good job of not spending more than that at once already because there is so many things that I wanna buy for my new car that I don't think I will be getting to 3k or 4k savings to spend in one go because I would have spent it 3 or 4 times over already...   17. Camber/Caster kit? For the front or for the rear? I fitted a K-Mac Camber kit to rear of my Senator because of the pathetic tyre life (read 3/4's of a new tyre outside/down to the belt on the inside 1/4...) I was experiencing even at 'standard/crap/floaty' HSV height... shall I expect the same pathetic tyre life from the front/rear of my XR if I lower it? And to XXXR6T... god I want 19's even 20's (ha ha)... but my 'home loan' has told me that I am only allowed to do things a $1000.00 at a time... Can I lower/stiffen up my XR for that kind of money? Or to quote 'The Castle' am I dreaming Jack

    Xr6 Mods

    Hey mate I have a K&N panel filter fitted with an SS Inductions cold air intake (which requires that you 'mod' the factory air box) fitted with the latter not seeming to be the 'preferred' option of cold air intake... I reckon it made quite a difference initially... but now (3 weeks later) don't notice the gain so much, maybe I am used to it or maybe my car (ECU and Ford ) is conspiring against me to negate the gains... but in saying that I haven't had my car dyno'd before and after either so don't quote me on acutal gains... but it feels and sounds like it breathes better. If your going to only keep your car for a year then by the look of the guys on here who have mod'd their car's I'd only go the CAPA flash box (edit) with custom tune because you can take the CAPA flash box with you to your next XR6T... and then on sell your old car with the 'factory' tune re-progammed in... I may be way off the mark and these guys will set me (and you) straight... but just thought it might help a little... Jack

Not very interested in that... though my 'factory lowered' HSV Senator used to scrape on anything and everything it didn't like the look of... (insert-matchstick) the softly sprung POS... I'm after something that doesn't 'float' over every undulation in the road... feels like it's planted. Know what I mean? Hopefully... That animated dude in your signature is just plain wrong... no other word for it Though in saying that I must say deep down I reckon it's hiliarious... Nice one Jack

Being extremely new to this XR (read-Ford) thing and having had the modification bug bite me hard I am looking to do anything and everything to my new car and well... currently it looks like a I have put a lift kit in, so am looking for ideas, set ups, costs, whether you like your modified set up or think it's too soft or too hard... not streetable or rides beautiful... I wanna know!! How low is too low? Anything special I need to know when having it done? Who's stuff should I use and who's is crap/I should keep away from... Thanks heaps in advance Jack
