I have to say that as a convert from Holden (HSV actually) to Ford one of the things that got me across the line is the choice in colours that Ford has gone with... all of them different and interesting. Something for everyone... Still I'm glad I'm part of team PHANTOM Cheers Jack

I bought a 5 speed and wish I had either bought an auto or 6 speed because I plan to mod my car and the 5 speed has reliability issues when you start modifying. But if you don't plan to modify your car then I should think a 5 speed XR6T would be fine, I love mine Jack

Am I the bleeding heart pinko you are referring to? I too work 60 hours a week, every week. 7.30am to 7.30pm, how is my job worthwhile without the overtime? Truth is, it is not. My home loan, car, insurance, bills and all the things I have rely on me earning the money that I do, I'm not going to give it back easily. The company that I work for is extremely profitable, is a market leader and isn't going to go bankrupt internationally anytime soon, so why not cut the wages of the workers over a period of time so that this profitable multinational can make even more money. Sounds like a stupid thing to do to me... Our rights as workers have been fought for for over 100 years... lets not throw them away on a whim... we fought for and got them for a reason... Sorry bcl, I didn't mean for him to talk to Simon specifically about your car but to speak to him with regards to his own rebuild thinking that Simon would have a broad base of knowledge already from working on your car, but not actually divulging the specific's of your car... All good mate... I don't know what good it would do but I reckon everyone who gets a car licence should be made to go out with a truck driver (inane, boring conversation and all) for a day and then everyone would get an idea as to how mental some people's driving is... Cheers Jack

I saw mine... and liked it I drove mine... and loved it I bought mine... ouch but it's worth it I own mine... and love every minute of it I drive mine... and still can't believe I get to drive it whenever I want... but I'm not chicky... Don't worry about us Phantomchic... we are in holiday mode when we go north Think of an australian version of Clark Grizwald from National Lampoon's and you will start get an idea as to why we drive like idiots when we are away... *straps Granny to the roof and heads north* The two warm days in a row also throws us... we are only used to hot, wet, warm, windy, cold... all in the same day of course Jack

I have to agree with what Vik has posted here... I drive trucks for living... a HR (14 tonne) truck to be exact and there is nothing more frustrating than when a car in another lane see's the gap I leave in front in as room for them to move in to rather than the gap I NEED to stop... I know that people's opinions are of truck drivers is that we are all inbred freaks on speed with 12 hours sleep in the 4 weeks but you have to remember that most of us who drive locally do nearly 75,000k's a year in our trucks and then you ad the 25,000k's we do in our cars as well and you one extremely experienced driver behind the wheel... Interstate truckies do 1000k's a night, 20,000k's a month and over half a million k's a year... some do more... I'm not saying you don't know what you are doing... I am just saying we in nearly all cases certainly do know what we are doing. Remember we can see 200 metre's ahead of the traffic becaue of the height we drive at and you can see that the woman in front is adjusting her bra before she gets to work... I'm not excusing the actions of the truck driver in question but I am asking you to just respect the space we leave for our trucks... they aren't race cars and don't have 6 pot brakes and handling to die for... we don't sound the horn just to p I s s you off, we do it for your safety and for our own. Invariably in a truck vs car accident the truck always wins... and it's a win none of us wants to have... Cheers Jack

Is there any good reason why they don't run it on a Saturday or Sunday? I reckon it would give people a place to go on the weekend and might be an alternative to people who just go out cruising on those nights too... I know it would make it far easier for me to go... Jack

Not sure but it was from Thursday night, there was some pretty wild weather about on Thursday night... the lady at the other end of phone at Calder said the damage was pretty extensive. To what I don't know... Jack

What a shame that was too... When I saw the weather getting nicer as the day went on I thought they would run for sure but then rang Calder and got the bad news... not fair. I hardly ever get to go because of work but I could've gone tonight but NO... Melbourne has to wreck the track the night before... Jack
