No Jet, didn't get a PB. The car struggled with traction all day. Had 10 runs all at various pressures in 2 seperate sets of slicks and it never came together unfortunately. It was an extremely frustrating day to say the least.

Struggled getting off the line yesterday at Heathcote... Jack

As quality a post as you will ever read. Handrl you have a weapon of a car mate. 10's on pump (my goal too) is just crazy good. Jack

If you are still running the factory diff bushes and have further plans... they will need done sooner, just like the tailshaft. Not that expensive really but it will provide for a platform where you are able to do away with a lot of the issues the factory bushes provide. Fore and Aft movement but also side to side. Factory bushes and that movement under hard accel and decel assist in loading up the rear end that does more damage than good. Good bushes will assist with power down as well. Strong and straight without axle tramp. Oh yeah TrueTrac group buy not required as Harrop are doing them on special this month!! Jack

A mod list as long as your arm I'll warn you now mate... it's going to be a crazy fun ride!! Just so you know! First crack at the next round should be brakes (especially if you plan on keeping the factory wheels) and tailshaft. If you plan on racing the car... the tailshaft will be the first. Break one and it hurts under the car too. Not a nice result. And wasted money on fixing stuff that shouldn't have been broken in the first place GTX the car and you will honestly scare the daylights out of yourself! :sungum: Jack
-
Nice! Leaving the handbrake on for the whole pass is something I would... I haven't quite gotten there yet as I can't even remember to turn off the traction control yet lol 10 sec FG GTX... not much to it! Jack
-
Willo it will run an 11 with those mods on the Autotech dyno. How far in to the 11's will be up to how hard you wanna push it Any plans for a GTX turbo to really top off the package? Jack
-
Just quietly too... All that dirt and crushed rock that you can see is even larger now. Windy like I've never experienced down there today, pulled the boys in to the sheds as the wind was up so bad... so my beautiful black car is now dust coloured, as is my interior. Rained on the way home too so even better my car looks like it's been painted with cr@P... lol Jack
-
FG I honestly can't be bothered with it unless it is on my way to/from work or near my home. Funnily enough it isn't in any of these places... TRA1NR I work in construction mate... I'm up near Jayco Drive. Right out in the middle of nowhere at the moment...as the photo below is testament to... Building a factory here that is 220m long, 100m wide... just a great big shed really Jack
-
Thanks for the extra detail there lads More information helps makes far better decisions when and if the time comes! Now... us inner northern suburbs fellas here in Melbourne need some pump E85 lovin' so at least we have then get make the decision! Jack
-
Go ahead mate I'm interested as much as anything. Outwardly E85 has no downside and you are saying there is? What happens to the pump stuff? Is it not consistent? Jack
-
Freaky... there is none mate. It's crazy really... I'm about 10km from the city and I don't have access to E85... My new work site in Dandenong has a brand spanking new Caltex that has just opened on Greens Rd. No E85. Like I'm not allowed to have E85... Jack
-
GTXX that's the plan mate it's got a super easy to slide around tune in it... idiot proof if you will lol... Freaky, thanks for the nice words on the build mate and I live in Essendon. Jack
-
Here is the dyno sheet from the car when first tuned. Everyone loves a dyno sheet! lol I only have this one. It shows road speed rather than RPM and as you can see the tune is certainly more inclined to a nice, easy and steady climb to the top even though the GTX has enough fitness to sprint to the top from the bottom Jack
-
All good mate! It will actually be interesting when I get to the start line and have all the variables somewhat covered... rather than having a quick glance at a couple, still not doing anything about it though and paying no attention to the others lol We are working towards it GTX I just would hate to have a major failure so far from 'home'... even though I have proper full roadside assist that will get the car home. It still does over 600kms a week if I drive it anywhere on the weekend and is my daily driver. Jack
-
Trash away! I love the off topic stuff... it's my thread so who's gonna say anything! Just keep it nice that's all I was having a think about the E85 thing too... my drive home from work at the moment is just over an hour. So I have plenty of time to think and to be completely honest running around with Jerry cans and trying to get my car back to 5kms DTE and then get to the race track that is 140km from my apartment etc... I just couldn't be bothered. Honest too hard basket. Believe me though when I say, if E85 was available somewhere, somewhat convenient and near where I live we wouldn't even be having this discussion... Jack
-
lol calm down kids! GTXXX that did make me laugh mate, good call! Left ourselves wide open for that one! *just to keep this light hearted too... I meant that in a good way * Jack

The cleaner you can get the car breathing the less likely you are to need valve springs. Turbo side and full exhaust will need valve springs later. Factory intake and factory exhaust with a cat change will valve springs earlier. The other benefit of good CAI and full exhaust is how 'lazy' the car comes up no boost. My GTX had factory exhaust early with just a cat change and it was lazy as. Will be far less pronounced in the baby turbo car but still there. The BBS wheels were good... nowhere near as much fun as scaring the chit out of a 911 turbo on the way to work this morning. So much so he tried again and then again. Ended up just running 200m behind me :sungum: Jack
-
Baby turbo cars nose over badly... the initial torque hit is brilliant though! Your sheet shows that clearly oldmate. Can I have your wheels? Jack
-
Exactly. I have spent good money on proven parts on this car. It will run a 10. I am aware completely that talk is cheap. The sofest part so far on this car has been the tune, by design too. I got exactly what I asked for. I asked for no boost down low, an easy drive and something that I can drive everyday without major failure. Goal post have since been moved because proper fasts is heaps of fun!

My issue wal is that I live in an apartment. Storage is an issue for starters. After my 6 spot Brembo's were stolen from my 'secure' cage in the underground carpark I don't reckon a 44 of E85 will last too long down there either... I completely understand the E85 thing. I really do. For me though it just isn't a viable thing... If I run E85 in my car then I run it. Everyday. The car is tuned for it, engineered for it with a fuel system to back it up too. Right now it just isn't viable unfortuately. Jack
-
There is Jet... a 10 is on the way. Not a 10.99 either. Remember though mate... I am dealing with 98RON pump unleaded. No E85 for me unfortunately. It just isn't available in my area to make it viable. I am not interested in dropping fuel, draining tanks and going 20kms out of my way to get fuel... especially when I am doing over 600kms a week already in my car with my work commitments. Jack
-
Excellent idea mate. The blown/broken tailshaft takes too much collateral damage along with it under the car for it not to be a huge consideration when powering right up! You'll love it! Good things come to those who wait mate... GTX! Jack
-
No worries Steve, that's what it's all about mate The more 10 sec Falcons on the street the better I say! I'm just trying to get there without a major failure along the way if that means that others can learn along the way too then all the better! When is the GTX going on? Jack
