Given that we'll be putting in a ZF that likes smashed boost and all the other good bits on the car we have Marko... I reckon you might be on the money mate. SMASH MY DATE! Jack
-
Update time again Good and not as good but will provide for awesome in the next few weeks and months! The not so good to start... The ZF is on the way out. Slipping quite noticabley in 2nd and 3rd on full boost 3500rpm+ or so. It had been especially noticable up the Bolte Bridge here in Melbourne. Has happened probably 3 times and that is enough. There is no upside in breaking the ZF so I'll just nurse it for the next week or so before a spare one I have up my sleeve will be fitted for the interim. It's done 20,000kms at the current power level being used daily with 5 trips to the drags inbetween. Currently even though it's slightly wounded I'm still covering over 600kms a week in it. So as you can see it's hardly terminal right now but it certainly does provide a nice opportunity for an upgrade... so upgrade we will! Now on to the good! The slipping ZF is coming out next week and going off to the ZF specialists at Nizpro! Having had a previous car done there it is a no brainer to have Dave and Simon look after the ZF for this car. From speaking with Dave yesterday it will consist of the equivalent of what is in Glouva's car. Super excited about it As my car is approaching 100,000kms (99,xxx as we speak) and while the transmissions are being swapped out the good lads at Blue Power will service the car and we have a battle plan to go further with the car early in the New Year. It will consist of valve springs, an as yet undecided intercooler upgrade to replace the PWR stepped that is on the car now and the fitment of the Nizpro transmission. This will then culminate in a tune 'upgrade' with a bit more boost early in the tune and a bit more go up top. This round of mods will really give the stunning GTX turbo on the car it's head and not only have the car heading for a very strong 10 sec pass but also plenty of MPH too! Exciting times ahead Jack

Not going... slipping ZF :( Mind you at 98,000kms and doing 600kms a week I can't complain... Might come down for a look see though. Jack

I have the same wheels, in Silver though. Great looking wheel! Jack
-
Killing it mate! Looks super tough! Jack

That is not ok. Ever. Jack

Veva if you are updating the list are you able to add mine in too please? Vic Jack/Bluepower A6 G6ET Sedan Calder 11.11 @ 124 MPH Jack

Yep Goes fast! Jack

Thanks keels I had 4 runs last night, first 2 in stock standard Drive, 3rd trying to manually shift (got 3rd instead of 2nd off the line) and then back to drive for the final run and best of the night being the 11.11. Aside from it touching the limiter on the 3/4 change at full throttle it changes every time. Though in saying that in the 2nd run of the night it hit the limiter in Drive on every change from 1st to 4th. Very frustrating run. Is that what you mean? I've heard of ZF cars that 'skip' between 3rd and 4th, almost undecided whether it wants to go to 4th? I haven't had anything like that just yet. Jack

The white F6 smashed a tailshaft FPV. There were heaps of cars out last night at Calder! Great night for it ' Jack

Jet don't worry mate, if I ran a 10.99 on the nose I would be the first one laughing for sure, I'd expect to cop it from you too. I made that comment in relation to having a goal for the car and myself of running faster than that GTX! :sungum: Dragging the PWR kicking and screaming up the 1/4 lol You are correct about the intercooler. I wonder too what the pressure drop across the core is. What the turbo is pushing out vs what the engine is actually getting must be 2 different things. When I presented the car to Blue Power back in Feb this year to have all mods done I had the PWR with me already, the boys basically shook their collective heads saying it will hold the car back... Prophetic words I think. New intercooler and valve springs are on the menu combine that with with the new auto being built for the car and it is 'hopefully' a recipe for a very quick 10 sec pass Cheers Bonjaz! A heap of credit has to go to the track preperation mate. I am by no stretch of the imagination a good driver down the 1/4 mile. It's only the 4th time going to the drags. You'll be heading for a 10 sec pass too mate! I just cannot believe how many 10 sec capable cars are getting around. It's just madness! Love it! Jack

All good Jet. Thanks for the rev up mate! The time vs the MPH thing is something that interests me. For only 124 MPH it is a very fast time. Without the boost cut/limit hit on the 3/4 it could've been an 11.0x or better. Which going by common belief (and I tend to agree with them mind you) that 124 MPH isn't enough for that time. As can be seen by the one and only dyno printout I have for the car it is a pretty soft tune. Getting 100 MPH in 200 metres is fairly motoring along but to then 'only' pick up another 24.xx MPH says that something is lacking up top. On this point I agree whole completely with GTX that I reckon the stepped PWR cooler on the car is doing 2 parts of 5/8ths of sweet FA once I'm moving at any kind of speed. In saying that though, the GTX turbo is dragging it up the track by the scruff of the neck lol Combine that with the engine being unopened. Never has the rocker cover been off. It is still running 97,000 km old factory 2008 valve springs. I have a feeling they are on their last legs though as after each run last night the car was surging coming back on the return road. More mods to come haha Jack

Thanks Freaky! .12 of a second from a 10 A breakdown of the run... Good burnout, not too much. Footbrake, handbrake and right foot to the floor. Didn't move an inch. I would estimate about 2400rpm on board and away we went. No wheelspin, just dropped the backend and stuck on hard and away we went. I could feel it was fast. Smashed it through the 1/2 change and then also the 2/3 change. So strong on the change. Literally felt like it was leaping forward with each gear change. Crazy Then... I'm screaming at the car through my helmet not to hit the limiter on the 3/4... Hit the limiter again going to 4th gear... boost cut. Maybe another 10th or 2 lost on the boost cut/limiter hitting. The car feels like it loses all momentum when this happens! Oh what could've been! Jack

Just home Buzzing... absolutely buzzing! I made an error too... there was a lot of jumping around done at Calder and in the jumping around I misread the timeslip... The car actually ran 11.116 @ 124.69MPH (thanks Bluepower!) 1.71 60ft (thanks Jet!) 100.67MPH mid track. Sorry about the quality... off an iPhone from back in the stands. Jack
-
11.16 Jet you star! 1.71 60 Jack
-
All or nothing mate! Just for you Jack
-
Jet I'm a pinko bleeding heart socialist trying not break my car lol I'll have one last run and really get up it off the line
-
Congrats! Awesome effort! Jack
-
No handbrake, not much stall off the line.
-
Yep. Bout an hour ago. 2nd run hit limiter in drive on every change. 1.89 60 3rd run manually changing, got 3rd instead of 2nd ??! And ran 1.90 12.2 at 121 mph. One more run and that'll do. PBs and more stuff to work on
-
1.93 60ft, 11.38 @ 124.7 with 100mph half track! All PB's! Jack
-
Quoting the post above... Oh no! LOL Welcome to the site specific induction here Jack
-
Thanks bud I'll give it a crack!
-
Haha thanks Jet... it's quite a balancing act trying to get the power down with out destroying the tyres. Clearly I need more a hell of a lot more practice. Next up will be to leave the car in drive rather than performance to see if that helps it from hitting the limiter on changing. I left the car in drive when I ran 11.48 but had also left the traction control on lol... Much bigger rests between runs are required too. Outside of that I'm waiting on the built auto to done by BPR for it Jack

MT16's 255 at 19psi cold and NT05R 17's 275 at 35psi hot but with an hour wait before running them. We ended up taking all the pressure out of them too as the car was turning them so hard off the line as the video above shows... The car was spinning off the line, hitting the limiter in P at the top of first, turning tyres at the top of 2nd and then hitting the limiter at the top of 3rd. I ran one 11 a heap of 12's and a 21 lol Best half track MPH was 96 and best full track was 121... it was an error riddled day from myself behind the wheel too. Still have plenty I need to get right trying to drive this car at the track. It was around 28 degrees as well which wouldn't have helped repeatability. Jack
