PASHEN I remember seeing your car for sale on the LS1 forums and that kind of got me even thinking about buying an XR6T, and one of the reasons why I bought a Phantom... what are you driving now? Jack
-
It did, or you did My first car was a 1985 VK Berlina with inj 202 auto... god I thought I was the man in that car... though when I was shopping for it all I wanted was a VL Calais Turbo... Jack

Very true Buf... but I was over 250k's from home as well... I broke mine at Heathcote, and live about 40k's on the other side of Melbourne... It cost $354.00 just to get towed to Kilmore, which is only 70k's away... ouch, ouch and ouch... then I damaged my car badly dropping it off at the Kilmore Ford dealer... $3100.00 later it was mine (not including broken CV, which was fixed under warranty)... so I'm not a huge fan of drag racing my car... but I will watch others with interest... And to Adam and Deek... I'm gonna have a word with Simon and see if I'm still allowed to stay in the 'stock' class because I am still using stock Ford original parts... remember we in our XR6T's would have to run up against 'stock' Tyhphoon's and they as part of the rules would have to use a stock Typhoon intercooler which is what I use... no aftermarket parts on my car except for (allowed under the rules) valve springs, and SS Inductions CAI which is allowed under the 'stock' rules as well... so you boys never know... I may still get a chance to kick both your auto as$es... Jack

I am a convert too... First car was a VK Berlina, then on to a couple of Japanese cars as they were more fuel efficient but always had my eye on the General's finest waiting for the day that I could afford another one... then I bought a HSV Senator complete with factory stroker, it was an excellent car but I quickly got bored of it and wanted more power and it was going to get very expensive very quickly if I went down the modifying path with that car, so I started looking for a VX Clubsport or Monaro, drove one and wasn't particularly overwhelmed with it's performace, so I thought how about an XR6 Turbo, my mates couldn't believe I was even looking at a Ford, they started calling me Lowndesy because I was thinking of switching from Expensive Daewoo to Ford... I took a T for a drive and was blown away by it, so that leads me to here and now... I now have a 300rwkw daily driver and couldn't be happier, I don't think I'll ever look back. Jack

That's great!! You won't be able to wipe the smile off your face for a very long time!! Enjoy it mate! Jack

I love it... I still go the long way home from places all the time... it's just so much fun to drive. Jack

I have just got back from Nizpro again... and my car now has an F6 intercooler on it as well... The difference is pretty noticable, roll on in a straight line in 2nd gear and it starts to break traction from about 3000rpm on warm tyres... changing lanes in 2nd gear the car now slides all over the place as soon as you change direction. And the gobble gobble sound is quite a bit more noticable now too... Very happy indeed!! Thanks Simon, Ryan and Checkdog, for putting up with me today and answering my questions and helping with the fitment. Much appreciated!! Jack

An extremely moving video... well worth watching. Though not a racing accident, about 8 years ago I was first on the scene at a fatal car accident and it has bought back all of those feelings watching people attempt to do exactly what I attempted to do but all in vain... Very sad... Jack

I was trying to find some of their work for you as it was in one of the sub forums on here but it has been deleted for some reason... There is a few guys from here who have used Blackman and Sons and they offer a few more options colour wise for your interior (than Ford does) if you are looking to match the factory exterior colour in your seats and door trims... I've seen Phantom and Mandarin matched in the leather and they looked outstanding... I priced a full leather retrim for my car a little while ago, front seats/door trims, back seats and door trims and it came out to be about $2400 drive in/drive out from memory... Jack
-
Hey TurboCrazy... Try Blackman and Sons they are located in Moorabbin in Victoria, but they ship Australia wide and also have preferred trimmers located in all states... and they do original equipment stuff as options through Ford dealerships if the factory leather doesn't take your fancy... Jack

That's brilliant for you!! Makes all the hard work with the car worth it I imagine... Congratulations!! Jack

Nice one, that's a brilliant shine on your car!!! Next time I'll have to have a look around for a claybar before I polish it up... Jack :banghead:

I have all my mods covered on the insurance, I paid extra for the wheels (20") to be covered and it was about $50 a year to add... I then listed the Nizpro Stage 1 of Edit, Injectors and Valve Springs and because I paid off my car in the last couple months and made that change too it made on difference to my policy, basically one cancelled the other out... It's about $1100.00 year, Rating 1 and 28 year old... According to AAMI when I spoke to them twice when I bought my car they won't insure an XR6T unless you are over 30yo... so they sent me to Just Cars... though I can purchase insurance for my car off AAMI through their website quoting system... go figure?!?! Certainly must be a terribly frustrating situation, especially when you don't get the same answers when you go to different service centres... it makes the service guys look like idiots... and we leave with no confidence in anything they say... I don't know where you go from here, maybe to a brake specialist as stated above and then go back to Ford with their findings... Good luck with it... Jack

You are right there chipa... The Dutch just seemed to have so much more time when they had the ball to make a decision, I think we were rushing and forcing the ball forward, taking the first option regardless of whether it was a good option or not, and our passing was atrocious, whereas the Dutch were much more inclined to hold the ball up and look for better options... we really miss Kewell down the left, as he is just so creative and we looked as though we lacked creativity from the midfield... It will certainly make some of the other nations stand up and take a bit of notice... Jack
-
It was a terrific result for Australia, in the first half I think we were a little starstruck, missing easy passes, making silly errors, but the Dutch team was putting on the pressure right from the get go... And to then go a man down with 30mins to go and keep the game tied was a supreme effort, it looks like Schwarzer really earned his keep in goal as well, probably exactly what Kalic didn't want to see but I bet (Aussie) Guus was over the moon with his work, a couple of huge saves... against one of the best attacks in the world. Jack

Even though I start work again tomorrow after being on holidays for 2 weeks I'm gonna try and stay up as long as I can to watch the game... Anyone else? Come on the Socceroos!!! Jack

What is claybarring? How do you do it? Jack

Welcome aboard mate... Jack

I just finished waxing my car... It looks unbelievable... used Meguires Tech Wax, washed it before hand with Meguires Gold Class Car Wash... It had been about 5 months since I last did it and I had forgotten just how good the car comes up after it's been waxed... it feels awesome too, just like satin... Jack

I tried to insure my T with Shannons last year when I bought it as I had my HSV Senator with them previously but was told on the phone that they don't insure cars such as mine because it isn't rare enough... Thought that's cr@p, so rang again seeing if I would get someone else on the phone and they said exactly the same thing... Have they changed their minds now Azz? Jack

Good old Collingwood forever... All with just one man off the bench for entire 2nd half and no Tarrant... What on earth is going on at Geelong? How on did they lose that game... it defies belief... Jack
