  1. That was my next question Hynodoc... and it is to those that have the rear bar fitted as well... I took the car for a quick run up the (private) mountain (road) near my house and it's just brilliant... I couldn't believe the difference it made, it held it's line great and with more throttle application would then tighten the line even more, just the tail wanted to break away, but my question is how much different does the car react with the whiteline rear bar on as well? I was exiting corners sideways in 2nd gear at around 80kph and tried a couple in 3rd at around 100kph and it was still chirping/sliding and struggling for grip out of those corners... does it make the car sit totally flat with the rear bar on? I could feel that the front was planted but the rear didn't seem to have anywhere near as much control... Jack
  2. It'll be an interesting comparo... similar to what Fifth Gear do with car vs bike, but the bike they use is a Ducati... But I wonder how the bike rider is after the big off at speed... Ouch!! Jack
  3. Yeah... I'm on my way... it really is just crazy. I'm already saving for a brake upgrade... And remember Jimmy this mod only cost about $140.00 in total fitted, and it's something you can enjoy everytime you turn a corner... that is my kind of mod!! Cheap as, and brilliantly effective... Jack
  4. Non-adjustable... I couldn't see the point of getting something that I'll personally never use... I prefer to have 'set it and forget it'... Jack
  5. The quality of your custom tune depends completely on the quality of the person/workshop who is tuning it... If you are choosing between a MK1 manual, or a MK2 auto, choose the auto... you will be disappointed with the T5 if you do decide to modify the car... Where are you located? Jack
  6. Hey guys... After seeing a few other people on here fit one on to their car, I thought I'd do the same... This is the link to the swaybar here So I chased one up through a mate, cost me $103.00, and had a place in Ferntree Gully fit it for me for a dozen Jim Beam cans ($34.00)... nice... For the money (BFYB) it's easily one of the best mods I've done to the car... it rides so much flatter through corners, makes the car feel so much 'smaller' if that makes sense, you don't feel the weight of the car anywhere near as much... turn in is so much better, much more positive. It holds it's line far better. I live at the foot of Mt Dandenong and when I get the chance later today I'll head up the Mountain and test it out... If you are thinking of doing this mod, do it... you won't regret it. Jack
  7. Yeah it was... but it's not power that kills the T5, it's the torque. And when even slightly modified these cars make huge amounts of torque... my car for example has over 800Nm of torque at the flywheel... They are pretty much all like that, just varying degree's of how harsh/loud the whine is... Ford won't/can't fix it. It's known here jokingly as a No Cost Factory Option... whether you want it or not... Jack :rokon:

A mate sent me this, a bit cheesy but good for a laugh... A song about Harry Kewell... Jack :rokon:
  9. Jimmy I think it works just as well, if not better when the bonnet is closed, on the dyno I think it helps as they run the car with the bonnet open and the air is basically blowing straight in to it from the fan... but having never done back to back dyno runs before and after I couldn't tell you whether it worked or not, it does make the induction roar more noticable and the gobble sound more pronounced though... Jack
  10. Without starting another colour war here but iTec that is easily one of the best colours going around, and your car is HOT!! Nice one! Jack
  11. Watch this video from Top Gear... It is close to the funniest thing I have ever seen... And for those people who think you can't get any better than Monty Python... yes, I am including that too... Jack
  12. Cheers Lumpy... But the stupid thing is... it doesn't seem as fast anymore. I reckon I could easily go faster... Jack
  13. Nice... hopefully it does give the BMW X5 drivers a real fright out there... Just think of what it would be like with a little bit of work and 22's... Bring it on!! Jack

    Evo Ix

Sixfan... such a shame that Ford treat their customers like It is just such a rubbish result for you... very glad to see that you are happy in an EVO... and to tell you the truth, it looks like an animal, black on black... Very impressive mate!! Hope it all works out for you... and... What happened at Frost Fraud that made you turn away? Name and Shame mate... don't be scared. By the sound of it they deserve it... And NT... Nice one mate... give that rice burner a run for his money everytime you see him!! Jack
  15. NNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOO flukey... Don't let my car stop you... Post up some more pics, you know you want to... come on flukey, give me a bit more than just your avatar pic... Jack
  16. Remember that if you go auto you'll only really be steering Do you plan on racing the car down the quarter mile? Very important question, I know it may not seem so, but basically ALL of the auto's are quicker down the quarter than an equivelant manual... If you are looking for a T, having had a T5 manual, with the express intention of not modifying it, but then going against that and going down that path, I can only recommend that you look at the MK2 (T56 six speed)... if you are looking for an auto 4 speed, then make sure you get premium sound, leather and sunroof (same for the manual as well)... these are all things I don't have, and wished that I did... To give you an idea of what I have spent to get over 300rwkw... which if you modify your existing CV8Z is going to cost you around the 10-12K mark (head and cam, OTRCAI, full exhaust and LS1 Edit)... or around the 12-16k if you want to twin turbo charge your LS1... Supercharger will be around the 10K mark... I am 28yo, Rating 1 and my car is just over $1,000 to insure full comp a year, with all of my mods listed on the policy, including my 20" wheels... Nizpro Stage 1 which is bigger injectors, valve springs and Edit ($3495) Bigger Intercooler (around $500 depending on how far you want to go, I got my F6 Tyhpoon intercooler for a slab of beer) 3.5" Metal Cat ($290 to buy and then $150 to fit) My car has a 'street' tune of 315rwkw (rear wheel kilowatts) which equates to about 530HP at the flywheel... So for under 5k you will have a 300rwkw weapon of a car, and if you buy an auto it will be capable of something in region of 11sec qtr mile times... How does that sound? Jack
  17. Don't count your chicken's before they hatch there Shaz... My stock T made 212.3rwkw with the T5 in place... Not that it's making that now... Jack
  18. Hey mate... Are you looking for a manual or auto? If you are looking for a manual then MK2 is by far and away the way to go... NO a T5 will NOT handle any extra power than stock long term... I have a MK1 XR6T and have swapped to a T56 6 speed in the last few weeks and I got out of it very cheaply, costing me only around $4500.00 including fitment with new clutch and flywheel... but some guys are spending up to $9000.00 to get the same thing in their car... A couple of things to note, the auto XR6T's are quicker in a straight line than the manual's as a rule... I just believe that the manuals are more fun to drive... What has made you wanna switch? Interested as I too swapped from Expensive Daewoo to Ford... only 8 months ago... and there is no way I would look back, this has been the best car I have ever owned. My last car was a HSV Senator... And sadly all Falcons have some level of 'diff whine', but if you modify it the turbo whistle certainly makes up for it... We have a member here as well named f6jet who is a G&D customer who has just swapped out of a 10sec SV8 in to an XR6T... Give us some more info as to what you are looking for and we can help you maybe a little bit more... And how much do you want for your CV8-Z? I have a mate who is looking for one... Jack
  19. I can't give you direct comparison but I fitted an F6 intercooler with a larger cat and my after the fitment of both it had a bit of a 'rattle' in it... on a stock car I believe this will rear it's head as over-boost or go in to limp mode... But then again from having read a few other guys posts who have fitted an intercooler (whatever brand) without edit or similar they have got away with it... to get the full value of the intercooler you will need to have the car custom tuned to suit... Where are you located RAP1D? If your in Melbourne I could take you for a run in my car if you like... but be warned, you will want to start modifying straight away Jack
  20. When I first put the SS Inductions on, yes I did, it was quite noticable, I bought the SS Inductions Kit on the way home from picking my car up the day I bought it... and we fitted it straight away... The car revved far more freely than the stock car, it was a good comparison from my point of view as I had to drive the car about 30k's from where I picked it up (the car was 2nd hand 43,000k's on the clock) to where we bought the SS and then on to where we fitted it... it seemed to me and my passenger to pick up better when entering on to the freeway through 2nd and 3rd... I took 2 different mates with me before it was fitted and after and they both felt as though the car was slightly quicker than it was with the stock intake assembly on... So I know it's only seat of the pants, but seat of pants doesn't lie either... seat of the pants tells me now that my car will spin 2nd gear on the street all way to 120kph at 6500rpm whereas for whatever reason it won't replicate this on a dyno... Jack
  21. Hey flukey... more pics of my car on here!!! Nah seriously... I'm very proud of the way my car looks... Hope you like it... Jack
  22. Good post Pelican... Heaps of people seem to bag out the SS Inductions Kit but I have one too... and here is a few pics of what I have done to mine. I have opened mine up a bit more... I have also removed the entire bonnet rubber. Jimmy might be an idea to get around the squashedness... XRT8U (Pete) put me on to it... Jack
  23. That is a wicked result... what a weapon that will be on the road. What Vortech are you upgrading to? It must just sound unbelievable with note of the V8 and crazy whine of the Vortech... they are one loud a blower as it is... Get a video up of it and post that up ms700... Jack
