The ZF at 400 won't last either. Mine didn't... everyone drives their car differently though. I will honestly say that I love the midrange rush that the GTX has. Pick P at 60kph and you'll be upon 140 on the street before you even have a chance to brake. I don't go after my car early. No point, it has no traction. I have very nice tyres on my car, even better when I ran 275 wide semi's everyday. That killed my ZF, no doubt. Roll on skids are fun... scaring the tish out of yourself and not turning the tyres on a roll on... it's better again. Farkin scary actually A good mate of mine described my car as a 200m car. He has a 400rwkw heads/cam/blown VE SS on 5psi... it's a very tough car. He describes his car the same way. You need to be aware of what is 200m ahead if going after it. Steve your car, and any car for that matter has massive bollocks at 400 there is so very little on 4 wheels that will get within cooee of your car on the street, very few on 2 wheels too! Have you done diff bushes yet? I know you've done the TrueTrac. Quality! Stays so straight. I'd leave the CV's until you need them mate. CV's tend to break (I've done 3 of them at 346rwkw in my 'old Nizpro Stage 2 BA', stock diff bushes never replaced to 70k) when the diff isn't supported effectively enough. Jack

Nice work. So you've finally decided to stop telling people how they should mod their cars with nothing to back up your theory. Looking forward to you running a 10 at less than 11L per 100kms daily driven. Just for the record I'm 12 thousandths of a second away from it. How far away is your car? Jack -
All the more reason to have it. Whether its 'only' 100kms or not. It is transferable too. Jack
-
And your car... That basically gets me home. And my car to Blue Power. I live near within 10km of the cbd of Melbourne. Flat battery during the year, they'll fix it. Flat tyre... They'll fix that too. It's not just drag insurance. I've paid nearly 500 bucks to get from Heathcote to Kilmore without insurance after breaking my car there. Won't be doing that again. Jack
-
Thanks next time out only a 10 will do.
-
All good. Certainly very interested in the destroker. It will be the new frontier for these cars. Shame is we are just getting hold of the ZF to factory rev limits. This will change the game again. Good luck with it mate! Jack
-
Lads... RACV Total Care will bring you and your car home if you break it at the drags. Cheap insurance. Just quietly... that rat is tough as! Would drive like a bucket of tish though... still tough none the less. Jack

No worries at all. I still have people asking me about my 'old puple car'. Superb to hear it's kicking around mate, even better that it hasn't required any real maintenence. Any pics by any chance? Just quietly on your car... a 6200rpm stall? No doubt a tough car. Destroked motor going in, what is the redline available on the new motor? Jack

This is taking bad ass to a new level mate! Taking it out on the street is awesome... the WTF's would be priceless to say the least. On a side note, I have a feeling your brother bought my old purple car with the Nizpro Stage 2 kit on it more than a few years ago. Any news on it? I still miss that car. Jack

No worries. If you own a tyre service... I am suprised you are asking for advice here. If you care not for price. Want maximum grip and don't care for the extra cost re: reliablility (tearing your ENTIRE driveline apart) then I'd go for Toyo R888's. Clearly as someone who has a tyre service you already know you should keep your wheel choice down to 19" or smaller. Taller sidewall etc. You didn't happen to mention what size you were after... Just so we are on the same playing field here.... I work in Construction. So you are asking questions you should already know the answer to, #becauseyouownatyreservice. Jack...

It's not just noise. It's emissions too. Registration suspension... sorry to hear mate. What mods has the car got? When did you buy it? What mods does it have? Have you recently in the '2' drives you've had been through a Booze bus? Few years ago I was on my way through a BB with 4 onboard and ended up with a letter a couple of week later. Jack

Without getting too specific here rapt it's worth asking the question like this... How many kms did you get out of them? What is your cars average speed? What is your fuel average? Would you fit them again? I'll see nearly 40k out of a 240 treadwear tyre simply because of the driving I do. Just asking how far they went doesn't answer any of the important questions. My Nitto NT05's have 1 or 2mm of tread left on them, 275 W rated for 19" rim with a bit of freeway driving and they were lucky to see 10k of 'street' driving. Jack

I have the same thing for under 400 a corner with Toyo T1S. I've looked to those Goodyears. Dunlop Direzza Star Spec's too. Best grip I've had is on NT05 Nittos. A stock transmission killer though... Ultimate grip and street legal on a Falcon. Toyo R888. Load rated, available in good widths and varied profiles on plenty of different sizes. Jack

How Are The G6E Turbo's Going Down The 1/4 Mile
G6ET8U replied to MexicanBatman's topic in Drag and Circuit Racing
To be accurate, I have 394, not 398 and my car ran a best MPH of 124.69 to run the 11.11. By your question I am only .31MPH from range that you asked about for starters, then it's only 1.31MPH away from your lower range of what my car 'should' be running. That would tell me that it's pretty much on the money, considering as you stated, that my car 'has issues'. Read now that those 'issues' are now a 'had'. Fixed now. Jack -
The GTX is worthy of a facebook update Jack

Freaky I had my previous BA Turbo car done at Nizpro so I am well aware of the pricing structure. Fair enough too mate... results cost $. I've got the $ in a built trans that most wouldn't like to put in to built motor... it is what it is... Not aimed at anyone here or anywhere for that matter... I want a 10 sec car. It needs to do 700kms a week, every week. Full on daily driver. No breakdowns... and run 10's... not a workshop car. No E85. Boot full of tools, slightly lower than allowed and crossing 400m of 100mm crushed rock to even to get work everyday let alone the 100kms to and from. Looking for less than 11L per 100kms too.... Currently the only thing I'm missing is 12 thou seconds to get me to a 10.99 Jack

Indeed XFT do mate with access to that many tough cars, as XFT has it surely has to pay off big time eventually just from an ownership/customer relationship point of view. So many combo's making massive power with deep mining pockets makes for a development heaven. The 1000hp XR8 is Dan's car. It on it's 5th or 6th ZF. He is now going in to uncharted territory. It will be a Nizpro ZF but Stage 3. His TTXR8 combo made 1000rwhp only a couple of weeks ago with a (twin) turbo change to GTX 35/76R's. The Stage 3 Nizpro ZF is destined for this car. It all comes down to your customer base I reckon, this back and forth in here in the last couple of days hasn't even included Veva and the boys from CMS in NSW. Breakages aren't just a matter of tuning. They are how the car is driven (of course!) also include what tyres you run day to day, how often the car is raced etc... I ran semi's, everyday, on my car for just over 10k. There is no doubt they contributed to the early demise of the ZF in my car. Did they make for a farkin quick street car? You are damn right they did Where to from here, who knows. I've put my $ where my mouth is and gone for a Nizpro trans. I'm paying full whack for it too. No discounts. You want an XFT trans and Veva and the CMS boys run CMS boxes. I suppose what I love when it boils right down is not heaps of 500rwkw Falcons on the street... it's heaps of proven 10sec or better street driven Falcons. You have one. I want one. We've both gone about it completely different ways. Add another way to skin the cat... lol Jack

Ring Chris or Theo at Blue Power bud, clearly at 5.48pm they aren't there now but will be in the morning... rather than try and diagnose an issue on the internet call the people who tuned/performed the work on the car in the first place. It's stuff like this that ends in miscommunications and tears. If my car farts or coughs in the wrong way I'm in contact with my tuner... not the internet to answer my questions. If you aren't hugely mechanically minded, not everyone is and that's cool, then the first point of call is your tuner Jack
-
It's interesting that XFT do the build without beefing up the input or intermediate shaft. My understanding of the ZF tuning capability is that you can go 2 different ways with it. Clearly you can also sit somewhere in the middle and hope for the best... One is to load up the input and the intermediate shaft and that saves the clutch packs but you'll never guess? Puts lots of pressure on the input and intermediate... leading to failures. The second is to use the clutch packs to drag the torque/power in to line but it prematurely kills the clutch packs though it doesn't have anywhere near as many shaft failures. How exactly both of these types of ZF tunes in conjunction with the engine tune are created and implemented is beyond me mate. I work in commercial construction lol Jack
-
Ah... ok lol It is exactly that... kind of like picking a footy team mate. I know having spoken to Dave at Nizpro about it and he freely admitted that they were fortunate to get a couple of customers in with no fear of potentially breaking their car to improve performance and chase a goal. It can then be beneficial for both the shop and the owner too. Sharing of costs etc but the results will come it then comes down to having the correct industry contacts to make the parts from the right materials, as cost effectively as you can and then go from there and see what it takes to break that one lol then try all over again! Jack

http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=11379450 It started out asking questions about input shafts and breakages and then it got really interesting with heaps of technical information too! Jack
