  1. Yeah mate... love the bigger trucks. Heaps of fun to drive!! Thanks Muzza... yeah I think the biggest obsticle for me is actually going down and becoming a member... the training will be the easy part. Stepping out of my comfort zone... Jack
  2. You'll love the difference that the edit will make!!! That is for sure... For the record I'm a happy Nizpro customer... where abouts in Victoria are you located? Your best bet is to shop around and speak to a few tuners and then go with who you feel most comfortable with... Jack
  3. I work for TNT Express here in Melbourne... out of the Hallam depot. I drive an 8T truck... Jack
  4. What other mods do you have? I just can't justify the expense of an exhaust when the factory exhaust with a dump pipe and cat can make excellent power... Best I've seen so far is over 375rwkw utilising the factory system with just the dump pipe and cat replaced... Jack
  5. Thanks guys for the encouragement!! A couple of my mates already go to the gym, just sadly for me they don't live anywhere near me, so I can't go with them... but you're right Stang I reckon it would be maybe not easier but a bit more fun going with someone that I already know... but there in is part of the journey for me, doing something that I'm not entirely comfortable doing and meeting some new people along the way... And the people that were there today were really nice, so I think it will be good!! Jack Edit-No deek I'm not going to play with Strauchanie... How'd the Crows go on the weekend?
  6. Cheers boys! I'm going to go on my way home from work... I made sure that the place I join is on my way home, so I'm even less inclined to aviod it as it's already on the way Jack
  7. Hey guys... If you have a look at my signature it says 12 weeks blah, blah... well I've been off work on workcover for the last 3 months, I won't go in to it in detail as it's boring but I've basically been off my feet for the last 12 weeks and obviously with that have been getting slowly (even more) unfit and lazy... and fat than I already was!! And I have had enough... Now I don't have the most difficult job going around being a truck driver and so I decided that it's time to do something about it... I've set the start date for my membership for 2 weeks from today, as I'm still learning to walk correctly again after my workcover injury and I still don't have a clearance to go back to work until next monday... and I haven't worn shoes for 3 months so that's going to take some getting used to as well. I'm pretty excited about going to the gym, I think it's going to be good fun and great for me!! Anyone else a member of a gym? How have you found it? How often do you go? Jack
  8. Too true, that's exactly what it's like!! Jack
  9. For those with factory warranty still left that is exactly what I would do... but I no longer have any factory warranty and I refuse to go in to a Ford Service Department... Jack
  10. Needmorepower... What fuel are you running? I'm using Optimax Extreme 100 on the recomendation of Simon, he tells me it allows for another 3 degrees of timing and around an extra 10rwkw at the top of the rev range... that will get you close to 300rwkw... But look at it this way, your car makes 287rwkw in a auto, mine makes 315rwkw in a manual... same weight etc, basically the same car... with essentially the same the mods... Your car would more than likely hose my car off at the track if they were to meet... Jack
  11. Ouch!! At least he is ok... but a pretty big accident by the look of it... hopefully the insurance pulls through for him! Jack
  12. You can jack up the front of the car and turn the wheel away (left or right side) and you can then access the foglight from behind in the wheel well... Jack
  13. Good work mate... They are great fun once you start modifiying!! Jack
  14. I love this thead... but I don't have any pics to add... Sorry!! Jack
  15. Neo, we tend to run a few organised cruises a year, especially in the warmer months... winter isn't so good for getting together as you can imagine... We tend to get 30+ cars for each cruise... and remember all are welcome! Evil-I trust you mate when it comes to organising a quality cruise... Flowerdale/Kinglake sounds like a good place, plenty of twisties on the way and beautiful scenery... you can't beat that!! Hopefully we get better weather than the Lake Mountain cruise... I was sick for a week after that!!! Jack
  16. That's what I was thinking Adam... Jack Edit-Nice avatar Adam... very nice!!
  17. You have emailed Jim at Tunehouse already, I would speak to him first about tuning your car... in saying that though, remember to shop around, get different tuners opinions on what they think, and then make the decision yourself on who you think is best equipped to do work on your car... you have paid good money for your car, don't go throwing away all the good work you've put in so far by giving your car to someone you aren't sure about. And with regard to the edit, it is completely stealth, once the tune has been loaded in to your car, you put away the CAPA flash box, be it in your wardrobe or the boot of your car and off you go. No-one is any the wiser, for all intents and purposes visually it is impossible to tell that you have done anything to your car. For the record... I keep my CAPA flash box on the floor of my car behind the back seat... Jack
  18. Taken directly from the Nizpro forum as written by Simon... Just thought I would post it here too for those that aren't members of the Nizpro forum... I was down at Nizpro today to have a look at the ute and to book in for some more work on my car and I must say that the quality of the work being done on this ute is second to none... it's coming along very nicely indeed!! Jack Edit-Not to mention the HR Holden (circa 1960 something-) that is getting a full house 1200hp BA motor fitted to it... some people have more money than I do, that is for sure!!
  19. Good decision mate in my opinion... and it really is only that, but if you are like me and drive your car to work and what not each day then this is the way to go, to me, it's nice to have a quick car, but that quick car is absolutely useless if it's parked in your driveway with a broken transmission... that you can't afford to fix. I waited until I could afford the T56 with a quality clutch before I went further with my mods simply for reliabilities sake... now that I have the T56 with good clutch I know that I can take the power to around 330rwkw relatively safely on a stock engine... from there it's going to be more money if I want more power. I reckon you'll be over the moon with just the edit only for now... good luck with your mods mate!! Jack
  20. I don't know of the car WHPLSH... just for now, if you aren't going to get injectors and valve springs at the same time I would hold off on the cat... just get the edit first and see how you go with that... then reassess after where you want to go with the car, knowing that you still have the T5 in place... If I had my time again I think I would've waited until I had enough money to get a dump pipe to go along with the cat... so that is something else to think about... Jack
  21. Leave the factory exhaust alone... it will make good power, all I have changed on my car is the cat, factory dump pipe and the rest of the factory system is still in place... other than the cat the only performance mods I have done to get over 300rwkw is Nizpro injectors and Nizpro valve springs and of course the edit... Your money is far better spent elsewhere than on an exhaust at the minute!! Jack
  22. Honestly... I have got no idea, I didn't ask... how bad is that. I'm getting a fuel pump, re-tune and a service done at the same time as the actuator... Jack
  23. Nah mate, and yeah I remember you, nice car mate by the way too... probably won't run it, not that interested in taking the car to the drags, I know how quick it is (or isn't), and I reckon my money is better spent on more mods rather than spending it on repairing my car because I broke it drag racing it... that and it's not an auto, so I'll never get the time 'I should get' if that makes sense... so I'm kind of on a beating to nothing... so can't see the point. Jack
  24. You certainly are confused there mate... Remember you still have a T5, and the further you mod the more likely you are to do permanent damage to your transmission... therefore requiring you to upgrade to a T56 as we've spoken about on here already or getting a new T5. The first modification I did was get an edit done... with just this mod you shouldn't need a new clutch just yet depending on what condition it is in currently... my car made an easy 260+rwkw with just this mod alone... You have done the right thing by speaking (emailing) a tuner with your enquiry, if you have the chance you should try and go and speak to that tuner face to face and if you have any questions you can ask them on the spot, and then they will be able to convey to you far easier what mods are needed and for what reasons... this is what I did when I first went to Nizpro earlier in the year with my standard car and they were able to answer all of my questions and answer some questions that I hadn't even thought of... Good luck with it mate! Jack
