    Got Rice?

That is just sad... that person must not have any mates, or else they would've told him/her that what he/she was doing is WRONG... Jack
  5. True Dave... but I bet that your 4th feels like my 2nd... maybe even my 1st... Jack
  6. Ski mask? I was thinking more along the lines of a motorcycle helmet I'll probably have to hit The Reserve Bank as well... my local branch won't have enough money in it, and I've pretty much done all the 'cheap' mods to my car now so the next round of mods I'll be up for big money (Nizpro Stage 2 anyone ) but seriously... brakes are indeed my next mod... they are going to have to be, the stock brakes work ok for now at moderate speeds and for day to day driving, but if you are really pushing it you need plenty of room in front of you in order to pull up... Nice one Pete... you will love the Mal Wood clutch, it holds on like a single mum and is so much more driveable than even the stock clutch... it's pretty unfair to even compare it against the stock clutch. Jack
  7. Nice one Stealth... you won't regret putting the T56 in... I knew the T5 wouldn't last long with the torque you are making!! Did you get a clutch too? Maximum power should be about the same, might even be a little lower because they have taken 1psi of boost out of it... but where before it would drop off towards the redline it now holds all 14psi all the way to the redline and just keeps on going... Jack
  8. The thought of that is just scary... I can't even imagine what your car is like to drive... it must be brilliant!! Jack
  9. Good to see it's working out Jimmy... Good luck mate!! Jack
  10. Too right!! I've got to be really careful changing lanes in 2nd gear now as when it hits boost it wants to do the lane changing all by itself... Jack
  11. Last week I had a 12psi actuator, ported wastegate and bigger flapper fitted, to go along with this I also added a bigger fuel pump and a re-tune to suit... All I can say is WOW... it's a real handful now in a straight line in the dry in 2nd gear, with the previous tune I had in the car it would hit 15psi and then drop off to around 12psi or so, now with the actuator and a re-tune that Dave performed it hits 14psi (dropped for the sake of the factory internals) and stays there... the rush from the turbo just never stops. It works great with the long gearing in my car (3.46's and T56 on 20's), and this I think previously helped to keep wheelspin under control in 2nd gear unless it was really cold or on cold tyres, I haven't been out in the car when it's really cold as yet but I imagine by the feel I get from it now that it might get a bit scary in 3rd (120kph+)... madness It really is now time for better/wider tyres and bigger brakes. They are the next thing I'm going to do... but I need more money!! Thanks Nizpro for making my car even better again... it's difficult to believe that it could more fun than this... and I've really only just started modding it!! Crazy!! You guys with 350rwkw+ are just out of control!!! Jack
  12. Nice car mate... Looks brilliant Jack
  13. Welcome aboard mate... Sounds like you've got some great plans!!! Good luck with it!! Jack
  14. I had an upgraded actuator (12psi) fitted today with bigger fuel pump and I also have valve springs (fitted a couple of months ago) and the car now hits 14psi, was 15psi but for the sake of my factory engine we decided to drop it slightly and it stays at 14psi till redline, before it would hit 15psi and then drop off to around 11.5psi, sorry I don't have a dyno graph to post as the Nizpro computer was playing funny buggers today and wouldn't play... But I can give you my seat of the pants feel... and it's all good. Before my car would only wheelspin 2nd gear (in a straightline) when it's really cold or on cold tyres... now it starts wheelspinning in 2nd gear from about 70k's all the way to 120kph... 3rd gear is awesome. Haven't even attempted 4th as I'm going far too fast for public roads... I have done this mod (and the fuel pump) in an attempt to 'future proof' my car... meaning that it would probably need to be done anyway eventually so why not do it now when I have the chance before I go back to work next week... Jack
  15. If you want a manual XR6T make sure you get the 6 speed... I didn't and have since had to upgrade from the T5. It is worth the extra dollars... And get the Turbo, you seriously will not regret it... they are so much fun!! Jack
  16. Too true mate... especially now I've got the T... it makes driving (rather than walking) to the letterbox just that much more fun Jack
  17. I think you will find that Simon is saying that they can be run lean... and it can get more power, but as well all know running a tune lean is stupid on the street, as you are risking heaps for very little... racing is a completely different circumstance though... it's the difference between winning and losing... And yes you should run 98 in your car when you get it tuned... you should be doing that anyway Jack
  18. I was previously insured with Just Cars and they upped the premium for each modification on the car... 20" wheels was about $70 to the premium and added another $600 to the excess, Edit, Injectors and Valve Springs added another $100 or so to the premium, excess was already $450 and $1200 because it was an XR6 Turbo... so grand total of $2250 in the event of a claim. It gets expensive to mod your car, but if you can't afford it then don't do it... And there is no way in hell I would have a 30K+ car insured only for Third Party, Fire and Theft... you are asking for trouble!! Jack
  19. They do OEM Ford leather interior through some dealers... if you aren't happy with the leather options that Ford offer from the factory... I've seen some of their work on here... and it looks to be excellent!! For some reason I now can't find the photo's... but I've seen a Phantom XR with purple and black 'sports' leather and I've also seen the orange colour, is it Mandarin... and they both looked awesome!! Jack
  20. Danny these guys are located in Moorabbin and do OEM fitment of Ford factory leather... It's about $2400 for front and back seats with matching door trims... They can do any colour you like with standard leather or perforated... Blackman and Sons website can be found here... Jack
  21. Too right... you have to stick to what you know!!! Jack

    Top Speeds

Adam... 245kph in 5th with more revs and a full gear to go... and stable as anything and still pulling like a freight train! 3.46 ratio... so I can only imagine it would be an easy 300 and something. Jack
  23. Just to follow on from me joining the gym... I went for my first decent walk today in over 3 months... in the time I've been off work I haven't been able to wear shoes either as the wound on my foot was right on my achilles tendon/heel so I was unable to wear shoes comfortably... and under doctors orders wasn't to go too far on foot (basically from my bedroom to the lounge room), anything further was a not on... So I put on my shoes and off I went, only 15 mins though, I figure start small and work my way along... God it felt good to be able to get out of the house by myself... have basically been house bound for the last month!! Just thought I'd share that with you guys, it's something that I've always taken for granted but once it's taken away from you, you start to get a new appreciation for it... Jack
  24. The gym I've joined is in Rowville, it's at the Kingston Links Golf Course just off Wellington Road... Equilibrium Health and Fitness... I was thinking of doing something like that as I used to play basketball when I was younger and loved it, but due to work commitments it makes it very hard for me to be available during the week, as I work 7.30am-7.30pm everyday.
