    ute register

I picked up my BF II XR6T yesterday Every car needs a name, and I am considering calling her Regan. Its a dubious, lame pun, link to a movie She's stock. Only mods at the moment im considering are audio related. Ford and I clearly have different interpretations on Premium sound. And will be installing electromagnetic parking sensors (the ones you can see) in the Rear.. I did buy 2, might put on in the front as well. If you are around Lysterfield in Vic, you might see her drive by
  2. Hi All, Was looking at getting these: http://www.ryda.com.au/Infinity-Kappa-680-9CS-5x7-270W-Split-Speakers-p/kappa6809cs.htm to put in the front of the ute. I've got the "premium" sound with the factory tweeters. When you get an after market jobby with the crossover boxes (if that is even the correct name for them), do you need to install them? Or just turf those out and just replace the speakers themselves and use the factory crossover? Thanks
  3. Thanks Guys I ended up driving it around to a mates, it looks like its something to do with the powersteering pump. Dont really notice it till the car sits there idling for awhile, turn the wheel and it makes that rattle noise.
  4. Hi All, I have a BF MkII Xr6 ute sitting in the driveway on a "overnight testdrive". I have to decide if I want to buy it tomorrow. Noticed that after the engine warms up, there is a ticking/rattle type noise . The missus says "its like a marble rattling around or something" Me, sounds like perhaps something near the timing chain. Maybe its normal.. Havent had a car like it, currently have a turbo diesel surf... lol Only seems to do it when its sitting idling for a period of time. Go for a drive and come back, noise seems to be gone.. .Although I didn't let it sit idle again for ages to see if it happened again. Is this something to be concerned about? Does also have the diff clink issue which seems to be common.
  5. Hi All, Just after some info on the common things to look out for in buying an XR6T. Looking at spending no more then 15k on one, would prefer manual with a hard lid and tow bar. (Im in Melbourne) I test drove a BF MkII yesterday, but it had to many little things that pointed to lack of ability to drive, or lack of care. Things like the trailer plug being ripped off... :S I've seen a few posts mention avoid the 5 speed manual, is this just for modding or just in General? The only mod I really want to do, assuming its not a terrible idea, is to get LPi. Might put a highflow air filter in.. Not much more then that, it will be a daily driver.. Although be tempted to take it around Winton once or twice instead of the bike... :D Is something like this crap value? While im bugging you all with questions, anyone know a good ute dealer in the SE / E suburbs of Melbourne? Went to about 6 dealers in the Ferntree Gully area and there was 1 standard falcon ute and a crewman S. Bugger all to choose from :S The preference is the XR6T, but also might look at XR8 or SS's. Thanks
