Evenin All, Hopefully the right forum for this one :S I've got a weird issue where every now and then when I fire up the ute, she decided to play up. So its done it in two different ways 1 - Speedo stopped working, everything else seemed fine 2 - Traction control light comes on, gear indicator flashes. Think its in limp home, seems sluggish to take off. Apply 101 IT fix, and turn it off and back on again and shes usually right as rain. It is intermittent, seems to be if I turn the car from off straight to on it will do it more often, like there isnt enough power flowing at the start so it chucks errors. So if I run forscan to pull the DTC errors out there are a bunch of errors, lots of them. Rather then making this post 50 miles long (its a big log) I've attached the faults.txt dump out of forscan. If I clear the codes, the only error I get is, and that's after startup and running the Key on PCM tests. ===PCM DTC P1000-60=== Code: P1000 - On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) Systems Readiness Test Not Complete So no surprises there. I ran the ABS and TCM module tests and they all came back clean. It is also work noting that a mate brought his HP tuner stuff in and ran through it on Monday and it was fine (I had cleared the codes after last time it happened) Not sure what else to look at, so checked the B+ Voltage which came back 12v off and 13v on, the ignition voltage (not quite sure where it grabs it from) was 13.6v so looks like the alternator is doing its thing and the battery is nice and charged. I did read somewhere, on a different ford, that the ECU wire can cause faults similar to what I was having.. I assume by ECU its the PCM module in the engine bay... What I can work out, is how to get the bastard out to clean the plugs and what not, it looks to be riveted or something in? Just in case I didnt do my profile properly, its a 2008 BFII XR6T :D Thanks in advance 1 faults.txt

Must be something in the water.... What he said..... Mine are all +20 offset. If I worked it out correctly you can push that to a +16 in the Ute.

Guess what they said...... :D "might have to get the guards rolled" Anywaaaaaaay Ordered the 18x 9's +20 with 245/40/18 nitto invos for the front 18 x 10 +20 with 275/35/18 for the rear Guess I better give her a bath for some photo's

Comes down to cost too. 295s get more expensive again, At the end of the day if I can get it to look decent and stop whipping out the arse end up hills in the wet I'll be a happy camper. :D Might just have this thread open on the phone... LOOK MAN LOOK AT THE PICS! LOOK WHAT THE NICE BLOKE WITH THE TORNADO SAYS! IT WILL FIT!
-
Found it in this thread: http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/89159-bf-mkii-tornado-noob/ Going off that the +20's will be pretty close. If I put in an offset of +16 for the front its pretty bang on according to willtheyfit.com

I gave them a call, looks like they buy blanks and machine in the offset.

Hi All Looking at hopefully getting these: http://www.thewheeldeal.com.au/product_info.php?products_id=5972 Id like to run 275's on the rear and 235 or 245's on the front, invo nitto's for the rubber (seems to be a fav on here) Reason I'm doing it is I dont particular like it when you are going up a hill in the wet, not pushing it, and the arse end of the ute decides that it wants to be in the other lane because the auto decides to change gears... I've got an BF Octane ute, shes pretty stock, so the black should look nice, shame I cant get something bigish on the stock BF alloys, but what can you do. I'm assuming the 18 x 9's will fit on the front and 18 x 10 on the rear? Just not sure if the offsets will work. Id prefer to stick with the stocks (as pretty as black would be) to save some coin, but from what I've read on here it seems that 245's, in theory, are the biggest one should put on the stock rims? Plan on visiting wheeldeal tomorrow and have a chat, but like to be armed with some info Thanks :D

Nevermind.. http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/88237-what-is-this-and-why-is-it-unplugged/ Its the cop chip connector for turbos

Hi All, Hopefully somone knows what this plug is and where it goes, I am hoping I didnt accidently disconnect it when I pulled the airbox out. It feeds in to here which is just above the airbox, sorry for the pox picture. Torque is showing no fault codes other then U1900 - Network (which I have no idea what that is) Car is running great (just did the hole in the box mod) so not sure what it is supposed to be, or if it is supposed to be, plugged in to.

Depends what you have, according to the manual... Stock 3/4 tonne and 1/2 tonne/sports suspension utes and wagons should have the insulators/buffers/saddle bushes The 1 tonne utes/wagons have what looks like a small round bush rather then the larger pad.

And this is why I ask :D So did I :D

Yeah my fat arse still manages to get under the rear.. managed to do diff oil with only removing the spare...just... Will try and get them tomorrow, got a house a inspection to do tonight.... That was slightly different to my plan of just bunging some stands under the axles and going nuts, but I'll claim that way :D

I havent got under too look, but this is the bit that confuses me.. They say that the "buffer" is detached and now metal is rubbing on metal. So we think that would be 20 and 24 in the picture (from the manual) Which ford calls insulators for reference. Looking at that pic im struggling to see how they wouldnt be "detached".. Missing, worn out.. busted and buggered sure.... But it looks like they are SUPPOSED to be detachable/removeable.... Anyway..... Is doing this as easy as it looks? Looks like all I need to do is undo the 4 number 18 bolts, pull the plate assembly... push the ubolt up a bit, slide in the top insulator, replace plate assembly with new bottom insulator and do it back up again.... Wait I forgot some steps... drink beer, swear a lot at idiots who over torqued bolts... Looks like I can just do this on axle stands? Being still connected via the eyelets should keep the rest of it in check? Anything else I should know?

I've had the ute 2 years now and I still stuggle with the low front end.. there is no way im lowering it.. The joys of going from a 4" lifted fourby to the xr

Im guessing I may as well do all the bushes while I'm at it? The complete kit inst a lot more: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/FORD-FALCON-REAR-LEAF-SPRING-COMPLETE-BUSH-KIT-NEW/220361699495?_trksid=p2047675.c100009.m1982&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140117125611%26meid%3D79f8044d22e845dbaa650c0defbce09f%26pid%3D100009%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D10%26sd%3D301596190967

I got stuck on buffers... What an SL leaves? I would want to bet its bog stock... Yeah I would be intersted, as long as I can work out if they are "SL leaves" or not... Oops Tocchi got in first Thanks though!
-
And if anyone is interested... Called pedders... Only can get Heavy Duty leaf, $830 a pair, or $990 fitted.
-
So if dem saddle bushes become detached and cause metal to rub on metal (which is what they are saying has happened) is that a replacable part, or do I just piss em off and get me some new leaf?
