Hey fellas, just hopped into my NA6 ba falcon on gas, turned the key, (she initially started to turn over as normal) then heard a pop/bang and then nothing... just like the clicking sound sort of like when you have a flat battery (repeat, sort of...) Im guessing ive blown some tube/pipe or something off, does anyone have an idea of what that could have been so I can try put it back and start the bloody thing Thanks in advance guys

  6. Do you guys that got better times in your manuel xr6ts recomend flat changing (I think that's what its called) ie: not taking your foot off the accelerator while changing gears?

If your r33 with the above mentioned modes was lucky to run a low 14 qtr, there was something seriously wrong with it, when I first got mine 100% stock I got a 14.6. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Just out of curiosity I'm assuming your talking about an R33 GTS and not a GTR ? Robbie. Yeah a gtst, gtr's get very low 13s stock. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Id personally recomend just going to any exhaust shop and get them to make you up a 3inch mandrel bent exhaust. its not worth paying so much for "capa or aps" which are very overpriced considering all an exhaust is, is a hollow metal pipe. as long as its mandrel bent a "home made" one is just as good, and alot cheaper.
  10. Why did you guys buy an xr6t, and say not the xr8...or an SS for that matter? Was it the rush you got when taking the turbo for a test drive and feeling the power rush when you hit boost? Or was it the promise of huge power gains that become available with minimal mods? Or do you just like the sound of a vlt type intercooler flutter? lol What was it?

  12. I could be wrong but last time I saw PANNIC which to date has run a best of 8.96 @ 154 mph it appeared to be in full street trim and I was at Clader when the bresciannis got that time.

If you are after a nicer spool sound as well as the flutter what you should do is replace your panel filter with a pod and also block your blow off valve (if XR6T have them stock like most other turbo cars do). With the blow off valve blocked all the waste air from closing the throttle has to go back through the compressors on your turbo, as it has no other exit point, causing the chopping or fluttering sound. Do it, it sounds mad, the chicks love it lol

Alot of ppl here mention the vlt's having a "20 year headstart" over the xr6t, then go on to point out the rapid redution in the xr6t's times that have been seen on drag strips throughout Australia over a relativly short number of years. What needs to be remembered though that it is the technology available not soley time that leads to better ET times. The tuning techniques available to owners modifying their vl's and xr6s today are far superior to what was available for owners modifying their vlts in the early 1990s, therefore allwoing the xr6ts to strip seconds off qtr mile times faster. Heres a few pics of some vlts incase anyone else here like them!
