    Regapped Plugs

And there's your reason why regapping your plugs gave you more power. I'm very surprised that with that much boost your car wasn't running really badly without regapping your plugs!! Regapping plugs is simply a must when you increase boost to those sorts of levels, I'm also surprised your tuner didn't make that abundantly clear to you. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks for that, I am sure I'm making more power. You learn something every day on here.

    Regapped Plugs

Hi, yea I meant 0.89. I did not notice any misfiring but it seems to boost a lot quicker when you take off. I have a few mods. Capa flasher and custom tune, centre muffler removed with just straight pipes CAI. K&N. IC, and Injectors 285rw. Running 12-13 psi

    Regapped Plugs

Regapped the plugs today to .98 and seem to have aquired a s..t load of stonk down low. Am I dreaming or has anybody else noticed this that has done theirs?
  4. My hyperflow cooler is different than Dannopower being that the top cooler pipe is in a different position so that was not a problem. I dont know if his is a model before or after mine. My main problem was the power steering cooler and I can not see a way around this unless I do what Danno did and grind the front rail. Other than that no problems and I think it is a great unit.

    Metal Plumbing

I would be interested to find out how the new plumbing works regarding extra power as I am looking at this to be my next mod. Maybe somebody who has had it done can help. Thanks

    Metal Plumbing

Yes that would be correct. I think the only way to tell would be to touch the pipe straight after the engine was turned off to see if there was a problem. We turned our cars off at the same time and like I say his was very hot and mine was cool.

    Metal Plumbing

The other day at the drags I seen a turbo with new plumbing. When I touched it the pipe from the intercooler to the throttle body was almost to hot to touch and he had the bonnet up for about 10mins. When I touched my rubber hose it was cold. Surely this must be detrimental to performance. I was thinking of getting mine done now I am not so sure. Any thoughts on this. Thanks
  8. A great post that one. Installing one of these is not for the faint hearted. The one I put in is diferent than yours it is black and the top intercooler pipe is on a different angle than yours and was no problem. The only real problem was the p/s cooler and the bottom of the cooler is sitting to low and it is hard to get the splash guard back on and is not a good fit so I am going to strip it down again and do some more mods.I think if these coolers were 10mm shorter top and bottom it would be a lot easier to fit. If your car is lowered like mine you have to be very careful where you park. Thanks
  9. Thanks for that I did not think of doing that. I will pull every thing off again and fix it.That was the only problem I had.I had a look at another turbo and the p/s cooler was gone altogether.Mine is a MK11 the one I had a look at was a MK1 so I am not sure wether the first turbos had a p/s cooler. Thanks
  10. I installed a Hyperflow intercooler and am not happy. The problem is the power steering cooler is in the way of a perfect fit and was wondering if anybody had done one and what the solution was.(I heard it can be shifted but I cant see how.) Any replies would be greatly appreciated Cheers, Bill.

    Bad Times At Drags

Thanks for the replies guys I know a lot more than I did before. Obviously if I want to put up good times I need the rear tyres to do it. Cant wait till the next time. Just another Q I know its on the forum somewhere but I cant find it about manually shifting the auto v leaving it in auto mode over the quater mile. I was told to do it manually and shift at 6000. Does that sound right? Thanks

    Bad Times At Drags

Thanks guys, why I left it on was because another turbo with 325rw had his of and was wheel spinning a long way up the track. My first two runs were in the low 14s my next two were 15.3 and 15.5 and I thought what have I done and then I realised the intercooler hose had blown off and it happened to three others so there will be a few clips being changed
  17. Just been to the Ford day drags and put up some dissapointing times.I see some cars on this forum with a lot less at the wheels putting up a lot better times. My times were all around the low 14s with 285rw I was hoping for at least low 13s All my runs were with traction control on would this be the problem? It did seem slow off the start but came on strong around third of the way down the track. The XR8s were leaving me for dead at the start but at the finish I would be well ahead. Any suggestions what could be the problem Thanks
  18. Could somebody tell me how you tell if you need stronger valve springs and how much would it cost to get it done. Also I heard that they made the MK2 springs stronger. Is this true? Thanks
  19. Yeah its a T. Any suggestions on a exhaust?I know there is a lot out there that dont do what they are suppose to. Thanks.
  20. Are the valve springs a big job and what sort of price would I be looking at?
  21. Got my second tune done today on my Turbo. My first was a K&N, Capa flasher and custom tune = 217.7rw. Since then I have had a second CAI,centre muffler removed,Hyperflow intercooler and injectors done = 285.1rw. Total cost : NZ $5000 K&N $130 Capa Flasher & custom tune $2000 Intercooler (I fitted myself) $1500 Centre muffler removed $100 Injectors & tune $1300 I done the second CIA myself by cutting a 100mm hole in the front of the box and inserting a flexi pipe which seems to do the trick. Bang for buck speaks for its self. Any suggestions for another 15rw would be gratefully accepted Needless to say I am as happy as a pig in s..t Bill.
