  1. Hi guys, I wonder if someone can help me out here. I realize that stalling up will overheat the trans and was wondering if I had a long break between runs(eg..half an hour) if it would help a lot. Also is there anything else that you can do to help keep the heat down. I am looking to get a tranny cooler soon so was looking for some advice in the mean time. Thanks Bill

    Advise On Mods

Hi Muncher, Funny thing is I am just back from the UK where I did loads of research before buying my BA MK1 XR6T luxury, its got 16K on the clock now also in Silhoette. I am looking to bring a flash tuner back from CAPA in Aus as it'll save you a couple hundred at least on what it costs to buy here in NZ. Robin as the others have said is definately the man to do custom tuning and for all your needs, they often do Dyno days on the weekend keep an eye on his website http://www.torqueperformance.co.nz/ they advertise them on the home page - one just gone last weekend. Dan ← Hi, Dan I got mine done by Robin. You can PM me if you want to know anything. Like they say you cant beat experiance Bill
  5. Hey ugy, Where are the drags on this Sunday? Haven't been for a while Dan ← HI Dan,winter drag wars at Meremere on 14th May, 11th June, 9th July. Sometimes we have club days as well. Bill.
  6. Over here in NZ where the airs a lot cooler mine seems to be really pumping. Going to the drags on Sunday to see what sort of times I can get in the cooler air. Will keep you posted.Just hope the weathers OK
  7. Remember to get your alignment done after as well.I got mine done in NZ for $700 included Dobi springs, fitting and alignment.
  8. Ya gotta love that one
  9. I got my 05 MK11 up to 320rw on the dyno and my springs let go so they had to be replaced.I had 285rw before that with no problems.
  10. Going by my mods I would say changing to a good hiflo cat and keeping the standard exhaust system will get 300rw easy
  11. Hi, I would be interested to know the company.I have had my M11 turbo for a year now 11,000 on the clock and had no problems.Even modded to 303rw. I am more than happy with my bang for buck.
  12. Good on you mate good choice you wont be sorry.Had mine for nine months now and still cant get enough of it
  13. Yea I am going to keep mine for a while. With the upgrades I have done not worth selling, dont do a lot of Ks either. Only just turned over 11,000.
  14. I went for a demonstrater $48000 3 months old 5000ks on the clock. If I had bought it new it would have cost me $61000 NZ with the extras on it.IMO that is the best way to buy as if the car has a problem from new hopefully it would have been fixed so saves you the hassle of running back with it which can be more of a hassle than the problem. And as you say I frikn love my car and will use any excuse to drive it . Even at $1.67 for 98
  15. When I started doing mods a bit over 2 years ago, everyone was saying change the cat first as it was only good for about 250-260. I stand corrected - obviously times have changed. Are there really "heaps" of guys with AUTO's running over 260 with the std cat? Stick your hands up. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I had 285 rw with standard cat. replaced cat with 3" pipe = 320rw

Hi Jack, from Auckland.South Island is better I was over in Sydney for the NRL final and Bathurst last year.Love the transport system. The amount of BAs here in NZ is amazing they are so popular.I still reckon they are selling better in NZ than the darker side.

    Cat Gone

Hi, no in the end I got him to put a 3" pipe down to the twin pipesWe dont have a law in NZ at the moment regarding the cat,but it is coming. It seems to be a lot more responsive all over the range. I really couldn't believe the difference it made, that's why I thought my valve springs might have been an issue. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I replaced the cat with a 3" pipe (for a temporary trial period) and it resulted in a similar gain on the dyno to yours. As you have reported what was more impressive was the increased throttle response across the entire rev range. My valve springs also need replacing however this only restricts performance above 5000rpm so I think you can thank the lost cat for the bulk of your useable gains. If noise is an issue replace your centre muffler, I have a 3" system with centre muffler intact and the cat removal made very little if any difference to the sound, until you put your boot into it that is. Congrats on the great results <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks Jordak a great reply.I was hoping someone would come up with a similar result. I thought it might have been all in the mind.

I did get the 35 gain but I backed it off to 303rw but it still feels like a 35rw gain. When you are driving it feels like it's being held back and wants to take off it's so much more responsive and I thought the valve springs might have been playing up all along
