  1. Without creating a new thread, just wondering if the factory FG XR6T front brakes will be a straight fit into an AUIII XR8? Obviously I will need new hoses. I have 17" Tickford rims. Thanks in advance for any info...
  2. Thanks for helping out mate been a big source of info.. Do you have the AUX booster cable running? ASL do one that's supposedly the ducks guts. As I'm running the DVD through AUX I'm thinking it will be worthwhile getting?
  3. cheers mate thanks for helping out.. btw are you running anything from the RCA line-in plugs on the back of the DVD?
  4. yeah it's all fun and games until someone Hulk smashes the ICC in frustration So is your switch connected at all? Also, where *exactly* did you ground the brown/white wire coming out the back of the DVD player? Or is it connected to the brown/white switch wire?
  5. It's the standard DVD unit supplied by ASL. One brown/white wire runs from the rgb converter box (located near fuse box) to back of the DVD unit. Another brown/white wire comes out of the DVD player (currently connected to nothing) I'm hoping this is the problem one..? The toggle switch is installed near the steering column and the brown/white wire coming from it is also just looped up.
  6. cheers guys gonna get that wire grounded asap. I have fit the toggle switch too...
  7. Great (old) thread and good info ! I have changed over my povo ICC to Premium Sound with colour screen / satnav / reverse camera / DVD player. All throughout ASL have been helpful...HOWEVER.... The overlay screen from the DVD player overrides the factory screen even in radio mode aarrgghh !! I.e the colour screen is blank whenever the radio is playing except for whenever you touch the controls the overlay screen pops up for 5-6 seconds before the black screen of death reappears. I have unplugged the 4 pin adapter from behind the DVD player to no avail - however - when the 12pin connector into the video converter is unplugged I get my colour screen back on the radio..yay..at the expense of the everything else (satnav etc). Apparently, the brown/white wire is possibly the cause as it powers the overlay screen? This is where my expertise is starting to run low :( I have traced the brown/white wire back from the DVD player to the fuse box on the drivers side. It does go through a couple of other connection points but I'm finding it difficult to isolate the exact cause. Also, another brown/white wire comes out of the DVD player to earth/handbrake. Currently this is just hanging around doing nothing so I get DVD picture while driving. Should this be grounded? Could this be the problem? Would be great to hear from somebody a bit more cluey on this topic than me. Happy to drive somewhere with $$ to get is sorted...cheers
  8. I'm not making any rash decisions until the running gear and look are confirmed. Although from all accounts the 2014 XR8 will inhereit the current GT Miami 315/335. If it's priced correctly could sell big numbers...and if the I6T gets the F6 310 I may just lose my sh*t
  9. I'm looking at upgrading to remote entry lid later down the track. Who did it, and is it just keyed/programmed to a sedan remote with boot button?
  10. Got a pair of locks from Flat Top in VIC $66 inc postage too easy. Speak to Trev. They are a generic set but fit the FPV hard lid (with bulge) OK with some slight tinkering.
  11. Couldn't find anything recent on this issue so brought up this old thread. One of my lock/barrels is completely bung and since I've just re-gassed my struts the lid is not sitting flush so I need to get a new (replacement) lock - fast!. Spoke with Ford and these parts are now obsolete on the B series and apparently the FG locks are incompatible. Tried the local locksmith, things don't look favourable they are getting back to me. Tried the wreckers but they don't isolate the locks and sell the hardlids complete. Any help here would be much appreciated..
  12. I got mine re-gassed recently. For anyone in Sydney enquiring give Gas Strut Centre a call 0424 790 889 it took the guy about 10mins all too easy. They provide a mobile service if required.
