  1. Thanks guys! Well I have a mechanical boost gauge(autometer) to hook up was just waiting for pod to arrive, will hook it up temp and compare the two. Thanks again guys. Cheers jak88
  2. Thanks rattler so that's about right then 10psi = 20.3inhg or there abouts. What about the max boost what should that be for a stock fg? Sorry for newbie questions Cheers jak88
  3. Hay mate yeah it has been last week had some 42+days,and it did drive like crap, sluggish and even sometime had a bit of a lumpy idle. but even at night when its cooler 23-26 it does make a difference but still doesn't feel the same as when I first brought the car... So is my vac/boost pressure normal for standard? -10psi to 6.5 max?
  4. Hay guys New to the forum, ive just gone from owning 4x4's to buying an 2011 fg xr6t auto.. So don't really know much about turbo petrols. The car has only got 28.000 on it and has been great, but now for the last week or 2 it just feels as though it just hasn't got the get up and go it used too once have. I have a "scanguage" plugged into the obd2 plug. And my vac at idle is -10psi at operating temp builds from -2/4 psi and max boost ive seen is 6.5psi @WOT.... Just want to know if this it what the vac\boost pressure is suppose to be stock?? Cheers jak88
  5. Hay mate that's how I cleaned the solenoid filled it with wd40, made a little differnce to response and my max boost as it was only getting to 5.5psi before I cleaned it...
  6. Hay guys Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I have had my fg turbo auto for a couple months now car has 28.000km, love it to bits. Although over the last week or 2 had started to become less responsive and doesn't have the get up and go it did when I purchased it, the car is stock as a rock, so I thought I would use my "Scangauge2". That I had in prevoius cars. To have a look at boost and vac among other things, from what I have searched and read it is running low boost and even low vacuum at idle. I see 10psi of vac at idle(once warm starts at like 2/4). And max boost of 6.5psi and that at WOT ,giving it hell.. Also coolant temps gettin to 100+, so thinking to enough boost=high coolant temps?? Have checked all hoses and vac lines all good, replaced all clamps, cleaned boost solenoid, inlet manni. Returqued all manifold bolts( exh and inlet) .. This is my first petrol turbo, previously had T/D'S.... So I'm just curios as to what it might/could be, my local ford has NFI, I just want some ideas to throw at them or its a few hours drive to have it dynoed... Anyway sorry for the long winded first post when I get access to a computer will put up some pics of the beast Cheers jak88
