  1. How it is at the moment! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. So installed my new ripshifter today in my fg ute. All went well until I got to putting my gearstick back on and then realized that the holes in the shifter are threaded to fit the bolt size on the stock gearstick! After then comparing the two shifters the stock shifters holes are not threaded and therefore slightly larger than the ripshifters. Result being the stock stick won't fit on the ripshifter. It says in the install instructions that the ripshifter is compatible with the stock stick and knob but that doesn't seem to be the case. I just wanted to make sure that there's nothing stupid that I'm missing or anything? As I see it now. I'm left with 2 options; 1- drill the thread out so I can fit the stock stick on. 2- buy a hurst short stick from the states and put that on instead. I would have happily done option 2 but I sort of want to keep the stock shifter and not molester the interior of my car and also it will take at least a couple of weeks to ship from the states. And I have a short patience! Haha Just wanted to ask to see if anyone else came across this issue as I know many of you use ripshifters, hence why I bought one, everyone raves about them. So I found it strange that I hadn't heard of this happening to anyone else. For now I just have the gear surround out of my car and the stock shifter rod bolted upside down onto the ripshifter (quick fix) makes it drivable at least. Apart from that the shifter is unreal and feels 100x better than the stock one, even with my bodgey stick (which is actually solid as a rock) haha. Here's afew pics from the afternoon
  3. Saw a silhouette fg xr8 with a bonnet scoop behind me the other day in dee why, never know, thought could have been a member on here. Car looked shmick Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Yeh I knew before I bought the car that I was going to get pretty hammered by insurance but o well. It's something you gotta have haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

A lot of companies wouldn't even insure me haha, they don't make it easy for young people to have nice cars. I guess there's a reason though Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Everytime I typed a question into Google with "xr6t" on the end. First result was this forum. And always had the answer Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Couple more pics. Still waiting for this rain to go away to get some good ones! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Varrstoen 2.2.2 19x9.5 +22 all round Nitto nt05 245/35r19 front Sunny 265/30r19 rear (don't recommend) Guards not rolled, front factory rolled Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Here's mine. Just got done so needs to settle in. Xyz coilovers front Front drilled and spaced for camber Rear bilstein shocks Custom reset leafs All done by heasman steering Feels like a different car, so much rear grip, so much firmer but not to harsh. Camber is loud on the road though and they replaced rear spacers with solid steel blocks so tyre noise transfers through a little bit more from the rear also. But it's worth it, end result is unreal. Photos are not too good, just took on iPhone Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Hi mate. Thanks spent hours trying to choose what to put on and offsets and stuff haha. Northern beaches wbu? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. UPDATE Ok so got my car back from Heasman suspension and steering last night. They installed my xyz coilovers Custom built bilstein shocks for the rear With solid steel spacers Custom reset the leafs Drilled and spaces the front for camber Aligned everything Feels like a different car, as soon as I got in everything felt so much sharper. I thought the handling was good out of the showroom but now think it felt like a boat haha. The only issue now is the xyz's are having trouble keeping up with the rear end setup! For all those complaining about grip look at your suspension setup! Might have to upgrade to some front bilstein coilovers in the future. In saying that that's purely on track, for street use it's all fine. So for now absolutely stoked with the difference. Here's some picks of the car getting set up at heasmans. I'll get some good photos up as soon as there is a break in the weather. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Haha yeh I think it must, thanks mate Couple more pics to show wheels better. Cars booked in for suspension on Thursday so I'll throw some picks up after that as well.
  13. Yeh for sure would be keen for a cruise, yeh I also feel like a boost gauge is a must! I just think if I'm gonna do boost might as well do oil pressure and something else at the same time
  14. Yeh fair enough, I've sort of just thrown warranty to the wind so my fingers are crossed haha. But yeh I know what you mean, stepping into a new car even made me wonder if I should just leave it nice and stock for a while but then I saw another one in silhouette so had to mod to be different! Haha. I'm in Sydney wbu?
  15. Thanks mate, how good are they! I strongly recommend the PW 4 inch intake for them though, I couldn't believe the difference even without a tune. makes it feels so much snappier. Good luck with yours also! Any mods planned?
  16. Wheels on! And PW batt relo and 4in inkate on! Fitment wasn't great around the stock intercooler piping. I don't know if the mk2 cooler piping is different but could only just squeeze it in. Cooler will be upgraded soon though As you can see in last pic, very squishy behind that cooler pipe! Then blocked up that bov to get some dose happening I must say it feels like a completely different car now, holds boost through changes so much better and feels as though it's pulling harder, not to mention that insane intake suck noise and that tutututu haha
  17. Hi everyone, one of my first posts. After selling my BA xr6 ute in mid December after getting my full license I was umming and arring wether to buy a second hand turbo ute or fork out for a new one. Eventually after many calculations and budgeting I decided I was going to get a new one! So off I go down to ford ready to buy a new manual mk2 xr6t ute in. Turned out not to be the case. Same old story of not having one in the country, however had one on the production line that hadn't been painted yet. So I jumped on the opportunity and put my deposit down. My order was a white manual mk2 xr6t ute with sports bar removed, 1 piece central locking hardlid and leather. Today, almost 3 months later, I picked it up! I'm absolutely stoked with it, considering I'm only 20 I'm as happy and a pig in sh#t. Apart from a slight issue with the central locking (will be heading back down tomorrow) After browsing around the forum for the last 3 months, reading everything you guys had to say and all the build threads, parts for the car I did not have started to slowly fill the garage; First thing was my wheels. I ordered 19x9.5 +22 varrstoen 2.2.2 all round With nitto nt05's Then PW 4inch intake and batt relocation Then matte black 3M vinyl wrap for bonnet and roof Then XYZ coilovers for front and booked in at heasman suspension and steering to get custom bilstein shocks and reset leafs for the rear as well as the front drilled for camber Last but not least a ripshifter and hurst short stick First thing I did when getting home from the dealership was remove those ugly mud spats. Didn't have time to start putting on anything else as I was too busy driving it haha, I will spend most of tomorrow on the car and will be sure to update this thread with picks and all my problems and achievements haha. After driving the car, engine mods are going to have to come sooner than I thought. Not as wild as I expected. So soon to come will be; PW stage 2 or 3 cooler (undecided) X-force 4inch mild exhaust Turbo ported and flapper (for now) Actuator ID1000 injectors And tune at autotune Hopefully all done by June. Hope you guys enjoyed the read, and I'm stoked to finally be part of the club! I'll keep this thread as a bit of a build diary and update it with all my mods and what I can and can't install haha. Cheers, beau.
