  1. Is that the same Steve that Lee and RDP have tried so hard to distance themselves from. Some very interesting threads around as to why....
  2. Lol @ the tacho that goes to 8k rpm. Real estate that needle will never see.
  3. Whatever you do mate spend wisely this time lol. I think your mad wanting to spend this much BUT you should be able to build a reliable package for that. You've picked a great tuner so that's a start.
  4. An fg long has little bonuses, cams, inlet manifold, better chamber design in the head. Better rear housing that doesn't crack...can always build it later on if you manage to kill it. Plus if you do score one with a turbo and swap rear housing you can make a bit of money back selling a turbo
  5. You really gotta learn not to buy into jets chit mate. Your only giving him the reaction he wants. Perhaps you need some thicker skin eh. You know what you have achieved is impressive. It's your decision making and direction you take that is questionable, not your ability.
  6. A myth that mythbusters covered, they work under water for quite some time, like 15 min
  7. Great, I f*cking hate my g6et now... Really nice combo mate, very jelly.
  8. That was actually a really good read and very well articulated, bravo fluff.Feeling much the same as the other guys with similar stories, its certainly changed my perspective. She does 3 days a week at a good job...perhaps she should go back full time... Then maybe I can get me that r8 tourer...
  9. ^^^^ that lil story made me feel good. With all the sh*te constantly making head lines these days it's nice to hear something good for a change.
  10. ^^^ this which I have already suggested. Plenty for your goal, fg cams are good to what like 500ish rwkw. Low k fg donk T400 New port job New diff gears. New cooler piping. Push 400's Run 10's..maybe...
  11. Fg cams ftw, infact just hunt for a low km fg donk rather than rebuild. Plenty in the 400's which is very impressive for a stock donk imo You could also use the fg rear housing if you score one with a turbo. Swap it out yourself. 400+rwkw combo for like 5k maybe less. Then maybe you could squeeze a t400 and diff gear change into your budget. Just a thought not telling you what you should do. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=321618971570&alt=web Its in Vic but you get the idea
  12. So many lols, that's one way of doing a turbo side intake without relocating the battery....and the hammer...I think his real name is Jeremy clarkson. To be fair hes not the first with fitment issues with the rapid kit. Apparently instructions are sh*te.
  13. ^^this, you current turbo will go 400+ on e85. Just get that port job sorted.
  14. V8 supercars doesn't own the circuits, not up to them to spend the money. Bout all they can do is take the circuit off the calender and hope that pushes an upgrade. Also officially TEN won the contract, pretty sure the move to pay TV was out of V8SC hands.
  15. Well willwood make big brakes that fit behind 16 inch rims. That will cost you a large portion of your 15k though. You can't even run ba premiums or the bf-fg 322's. Brake options are limited.
  16. Mate im all for the things you want to do, but ffs if your pulling the donk reshell again to a non one tonne xr6 ute. Bigger brakes better tyres ect.... Also if it was me for the turbo I would go the PT6235
  17. Tough one stripers, youd be a right coont to bail on em now. But the new option is much better. You need to talk to the couple see what position it puts them in.
  18. ^^^ sounds like a man speaking from experience. Would full exhaust and high flow cat be the issue?
  19. Unless you have hollowed out the cats or the tune is a bit ho hum I dont see why it wouldn't pass, oh and make sure the pcv circuit is functional not venting to atmo or something
  20. Agreed but any upgrades are unlikely given V8SC dont actually own the tracks. QR is probably the most boring circuit on the calendar. Lakeside would be more entertaining. Havent seen it for a while but I was at a truck race there once and one went for a swim.
  21. Tyre choice will have more effect on grip than width alone. Ive had 245's that held on ALOT better than my current 275 Chinese cheapies..
  22. A 265 will be stretched a wee bit on a 9.5 which could help with clearance. But if my 275 +38(its literally like a rollie paper at full compression) then a +40 should be fine. Cant remember if the nitto are on the wide or narrow side for their advertised size. What off set are your fronts btw? I wish I got +25 8.5 now. +30 is ok but not hella flush like the rear
  23. These are 20/30/275 on a +38 9.5, just fits without any rolling pumping which is almost impossible of fg rear guards anyway. Even sitting 2mm further in board I cant see a 295 fitting Also a 285 is really the max for a 9.5inch rim
