Pretty impressive results on 98? What model were those 2 exactly and what sort of boost will they hold? Both those results seem like they are in the safe zone for stock FG engines so wondering how much more is in them? Coz 20psi by 3200rpm sounds pretty good, did they hold it flat as desired or fall away at all? Any dyno sheets? Want 2 know more
I agree with what you have said keif but fark you say some rando sh*t sometimes. What aftermarket components create more ground clearance on a falcon lol, whilst maintaining stock height or even moar low. Coz I'd be interested in these parts
Well in qld we don't measure the height of car from the ground to the highest point lol wtf is that? Hub to guard or ground clearance method which is often from the exhaust or whatever is lowest. Did he take his measurement off a perfectly level surface? This is why HTG is most accurate...as long as that measurement isn't x amount lower than factory and you don't have a rice spec exhaust it should be all gravy
Defiantly keen to run a bit more tyre I just wonder whether insurance and DOT will be ohmos about it coz its not within the factory specs. Which is ridiculous given there would be no actual problem running that profile...just that fact that the overall diameter is probably going to end up greater than factory..
I've noticed commos run 40 series 19's from the factory, are we legally aloud to run that profile? I've also noticed my wider rears are always a smaller profile like 35 front and 30 rear, why is that? Is it coz the extra width actually makes the tyre taller? Coz I'd really like to go 245 40 fronts and 265 40 rears. That rear size does seem particularly hard to come by though. Wrong thread but since were on the topic of tyres.... Thinking about it my fronts have always had a little stretch so is it actually a case of the 35 being smaller so 30 rear to match? Me no understando
Just put a carby big block in it, 9inch, glide and be done with it.... Who needs economy and street manners eh....well not us to be fair, however it is nice how well mannered these setups are even when making silly amounts of power.
Phil, you may have to use some gear of your other tornado to get through licencing, pita I know. Not sure how it is in your state. Would think your capable of the tranny service heat exchanger job. I think Ralph has a gulf western guy? Was gonna hit him up about that as well. Turbo oil filter is a pretty simple job. Bit fiddly. The part that annoyed me the most was removing the old hard line. Removing thermos probably would have helped. Behind the bar is a sh*t place for an air filter.
Bet a stock fg smashes it(the clubby)...even if its had the usual ls mods...I did quite like that model though, massive fan of the factory brake/wheel combo.. Finish the ute karnt
Yeah me too but bit dissapointed bout the lack of lip spoiler. Needs something to define it as a T as the previous ones did...other than that the more fgx's I've seen in the flesh the more they have grown on me. There won't end up being that many on the road either so they have a certain presence about them..
Seen 2 today....I really have the urge to buy one... But I'd want a T still. But with brembos n chit...convincing the missus to trade the g6 would be hard. She loves that thing for a lot of sentimental reasons.... Ill need to sleep on it..
I'd go the +25 on the front to match the +40 x10 rears. I had +38 9.5's which sat pretty much flush and +30 8.5 front and I always felt the fronts needed a spacer to look right. Possibly even +22 with a touch of camber?
Finding this in the right colour after looking for like 12 months. Will fix a wee prang the missus had(was small but unfortunately kinked the bootlid the whole way across the deck) finding one in silhouette from a g6et proved impossible. So will remount my wing ect but honestly would have been happy with an XT one in the right colour. Got the bonus of a 2nd garnish with reverse camera so that's for sale if anybody is keen.
I would still service an N/A every 7500 but that's just me.. Biz, Tocchi and Nitro all have a good point. You need to decide what it is your really want out of it? On the highway the difference between an na is negligible if your sensible with the loud pedal. But if fuel economy is important then both are the wrong car really. Perhaps you should be tossing up between a turbo or a nice diesel 4x4 which are around the same money
