  1. Panda, do you need the money?? Can money buy back time lost with your family?
  2. Whilst the HDI kit works OK for its price point I suppose...your not going to like its VL spec fitment. I would personally spend a little more and get a more reputable kit. For me it would be Jonny Tigs no cut cooler.
  3. Yep.....I left NFS(they also did portables passive and dry) after around 12 months under the Tyco regime, was with them from the start and through the growth to 1 of the big boys, then watched it die at the hand of Tyco. Which we all expected.Confirmed evergreen bought them if im getting the name right. The fire division though. Tyco security ect will remain..

Holy sheet, think you have gone straight to somewhere at the top as far as terries go. ...when are you heading to the 1/4?
  9. Not before you 100% eliminate the battery. Like o said its possible for them to fail in such a way they just randomly dont work, it may have failed completely now.
  10. Ok well given that I think we can rule out unmarried modules ect Sounds like a sus battery to me, I had an issue once where the car would start 9/10 times then just go click click. Was an auto, weird thing was after a jump start you could turn it off straight away, then like magic it would start. No way its had a chance to charge so cant be battery right? Well it was, collapsed cell apparently. Changed it and nothing else, never had a problem again. My FG did heaps of weird sh*t when the battery was closed to dead, asking for icc codes, transmission not in park bullsh*t ect..the electronics in these cars are sensitive to battery voltage, seems to reach a point where they just loose their mind so to speak. If you have a known good battery to test with id be ruling it out first cause you can do your head in over something simple.
  11. Tried cycling the ignition a few times? How have you combined the electronics? ie exactly what is from the donor and what is existing? Feels like dejavu as a guy that had done this exact same swap probably 6 months ago had starting issues aswell. Except his would start if he dropped the gearbox like 10mm by loosening the crossmember. Which was uber weird...that's not you is it?
  12. Glad its fixed mate. Get a mate or somebody to regap those ones you just pulled out if they were new coz there certainly isn't anything wrong with the ford ones.
  13. Yeah I wouldnt be accepting that on something that you expect to be putting a decent load on. Its common in house slabs, but you dont jack your car up in the lounge room.... Otherwise looks like it is progressing well mate, quite a bit of earth works involved in this build by the looks of it? Is the whole block a slope? Actually doesnt look that steep in the last photo. Split level design?
  14. Bloody help stripey im sorry to hear that bud. I hope they got it early and the operation is a complete success mate.
  15. Phasor or sensor failures are pretty rare and jumped teeth are common. Id be starting at checking the chain. Not sure whats normal at idle, I can check later
  16. Yeah but point is, coz sh*tbox not powaaa
  17. I do this as well mate, although erry time I take it off the filter is always full but the lines have drained out. So either the lines drain very quickly when you crack the first fitting on the filter and what vacuum would be there is released. Or the just do it anyway and the only benifit is your priming the filter a little and the lines fill on every startup anyway. Not sure. As for the engine oil filter I think it benifits from being fully filled and has an anti drainback valve for future startups. I fill it about halfway before installing it anyway.
  18. Decent result, got a graph for us to pour over lol?
  19. He did rate the monaro on its looks and its fun factor/character. Havent seen was tiff had to say about it. Fair bit of Hollywood going on there though.A Hollywood slide is a term a mate and I coined, atleast I think we did. Think blues brothers stuff, 70's police chases ect. Basically big heavy underpowered car and a majority of the slide is generated by a combination of soft suspension/violent weight transfer to unload it and the the inertia carries you through the slide. Smoke billowing off the tyres on the monaro suggests there is an element of power involved, was still definitely initiated by a violent weight transfer or even a bit off lift off oversteer on some corners by the looks of it. Cheers, if by offline you mean the pub im down.
  20. Lol, but I like it....missus is keen on a GTi I know....but if I got a manual mkii BA you guys would be oh yeah that sik, even though I think the daewoo is a better car overall.. Well I hope you do hear back mate, change is as good as a holiday they say, especially in your FIFO situation.
  21. Cheers guys, so stoked. Now, need to buy another car since its a car allowance situation and we do need 2......im incapable of buying a boring car so this will be tough...had planned to buy the missus something and use the geegee but Ive always wanted a manual 05 VZ Monaro...dont care they are slow.
  22. Double posting coz im fkn excited. GOT THE JOB. New year start at my earliest convenience. Yeahhhhhh Also Panda, while we are on the topic, are you taking this less work more money job? Your crazy if your not, f*ck loyalty mate, look after number 1. Which is you and your family.
  23. Im the same mate, tradie4lyf and that. This is the right opportunity though hence I applied, close to home, the package is good. The expectations of me are realistic. Lets face it we dont actually like having sweaty balls but like you say the hours and money are good which makes the transition hard to accept. I have had my eye out for 12+ months and nothing has really taken my fancy. So yeah I completely get what your saying.
  24. Professional time wasters, wormworlds made a loss of 20mill last year lol. Comes as no surprise though. Unsure if that's internationally or just the Australian branch that lost that.
  25. Premier Fire, Wet and Dry estimator for construction. He asked what I knew about sprinklers, I rattled off some gear, said I know my way around a valve set, change P/S n sh*t on my own. Set pump cut in's on my own, draining down and jacking up ect. Really not rocket science. He said that's the best answer to that question I've had and puts you infront of everybody else in thay respect. Reckons they can teach a spark to price wet, doesnt work the other way around... I was trying not to get my hopes up and initially was indifferent about the prospect, but having had time to think about it....alot. Im keen as mustard. Also Tyco fire australia just got bought out by evergreen (nfi??) So expect something to go down there I would say..
