Look keif I wont tell you how puters/programming(and gearboxes.....) works if you dont tell me how electronics works lol. Crimps are fine for terminating a cable or maybe joining 1 or 2 but 5? No..will always get a higher resistance than solder as a crimp simply does not penetrate. Solder is also fine with heat, takes quite hot direct contact to get it to flow, once heat shrunk with a heat shrink that contains a sealent compound its very unlikley to fail. Fire rated heatshrink that contains a resin is also avalible that will take a direct toasting for 2+hrs... Seen soldered 3 phase connections on large fans in bloody harsh environments supporting 80+ amps(start up) no worries. Better than a cumbersome house hold connector anyway.. I dont know why I bothered writing any of that given you still maintain crimps are the go even after watching a video on a saftey recall for my exact problem that says otherwise.......

Extension is for the banjo fitting, pretty sure the turbo end does have a washer and the fitting in the block end is tapered. Will check the washer when I get home but im sure there was one when I changed to an earls line.

^^ further to this, the POS ran like it was on 1 cylinder today, sounded like a wrx, used ALOT of fuel to limp home, smelt rich as, throttle behaved strangley. "Engine malfunction service now" "hill start assist not avalibe" messages on the dash. CEL... Apparently the issue is inadequatly crimped (not enough pressure, I think they should be soldered ffs) splices throughout the engine harness.. as a result it gets all sorts of weird signals from sensors and throws codes for you name it, pretty much anything connected to the pcm, sporadically. Dealers started off replacing sensors as the codes presented but ford has now issued a recall for the harness... They better just fhucking replace it on monday no BS excuses....

Do you need to anneal brand new ones? Pretty sure that process is to soften an old one for reusing.

A little shaft play is normal in a bb turbo. As keif said if it doesn't touch the housing and forward and rear movement isnt rediculous its fine. Once its hot and has oil pressure at the bearings it will have very little if any.

Lol picture says it all, got a torque wrench from aldi for 20bucks man, some stores still have them and they seem quite good lol. I have warren and brown ones for smaller stuff. Couldn't pass it up for 20 bucks. Also gunna....our cars have a McPherson front end with strut towers and sh*t lol...not even close.

Bought a focus st after they had been recalled for a engine harness issue. Obviosuly mine hasnt been done coz it started the random stalling, hunting idle crap yesterday. Google it, find out its a well known issue and a recall exists for it... Last ford, seriously im over it. They do build great cars, ive had a bucket of fun but seriously they just cant execute ans customer service is rubbish as usual. Booked in monday for the warranty work, really looking forward to dealing with the khunts...
