  1. a tps sensor is like 90 bucks so not a huge gamble. your not going to be able to diagnose it by unplugging like an injector or coil, its going to upset sh*t. You could try logging tps and pedal position in an ignition on engine off state. They should be pretty much in sync. wouldnt trust logging during a drive as its normal for actual throttle position and desired to be different coz of all sorts of sh*te like torque managment ect
  2. no tps data is probably going to put it into limp mode. 100 cell cat and stock isnt a great idea no....probably not the cause of a rough idle though
  3. u1900 is a comms code any is a bit general, can be a incorrect module, unplugged module, or just generated by flashing the pcm or an obd device like you say. dodgy tps sensors are common on BA's resulting in crappy idle. if its fine under wot I doubt its plugs or coils, was the replacement cat a stock item?
  4. 1 more episode of the double unicorn build left and its tune time. interested to see how hard they lean on the stock nissan v8. Turbo yoda claims its very strong. 6bolt mains and a huge factory girdle, it looks it. CR might be the limiting factor but e85 will be used no doubt
  5. an fg will make 200rwkw with tune headers, std turbo zorst, air box mod or aftermarket one. Fairly solid number for a P plate car
  6. 25mm spacers would most certainly be bolt on. bolt on hubcentric spacers are really the only ones that work properly. Legalities aside.
  7. yep I heard the rumor that production on the std models has already ceased.
  8. Very true, test drove a couple of GTI'S at the same time as the ST when shopping, and they just felt a bit boring in comparison. the DSG gti is actually quicker than the manual only ST but still, couldnt get over how much of a hooligan the ST was, tourqe steering everywhere, even oversteering if you want it too(yeah I know its fwd, drive one hard and lift off mid corner see what happens....). just felt more fun. RS will be like the ST after a few glass BBQ's
  9. if u can blow through it both ways.... F ucked
  10. 2 door pursuit cars are used all over the world, they just call another car to pick old mate up if they are loosing their freedom. A majority of traffic offenses dont require detaining people with exception to DUI offenses..
  11. what im saying matty a similar strategy could be used to add timing or even a little boost on better fuel, if you can pull timing based on knock, couldnt the pcm try adding a little and "learn" over time based on success, or lack of(knock event). Dont on say "overboost" on the falcon, pretty sure its still based around 95 and has no scope to take 98 into account.
  12. Great info, Didnt even occur to me to check, I shouldn't have been so naive to assume the US would use the same std as anywhere else...
  13. ford seems to be getting cleverer with this, seen some comparisons of the FOST from the states on different fuels, on 89 it made less than stock, filled it up to 93 and it took a few runs bit gradually it started to come up run after run. So no idea what the strategy is but it wasnt knocking on 89, but doesnt have an octane sensor or anything of the like....so does the pcm just take a chance now and again and see what sort of timing it can get away with? had it been knocking and pulling timing on 89 I wouldnt be so perplexed. Car had be running on 89 for a full tank...seems like it learns, but now and again checks to see if it will get away with more, I imagine in small increments. Dunno just guessing, but definitely seems like theyre strategies are getting more complex and yep, their petrol options are pretty crap, think 93 is their premium. However they have way more ethanol blends than we do and better avialibility.
  14. pretty happy with the s6's camera which is better than my z1's which boasted a 20mp camera but low light processing was rubbish. used my s6 to zoom in and take a photo of a super tiny watch battery I needed to replace, which I could not read with the naked eye. Takes pretty damn good quick snaps without stuffing with settings. So yeah I rate it unlike previous samsung phone cameras
  15. also why does the gutter on the lower roof go all the way to the head stabber 3000
  16. htc use their own launcher and samsung have touchwiz these launchers took up alot of recources and were clunky and annoying at best, the biggest difference these days is manufacturers interpretation of android are much closer to googles "pure" AOSP, so as google refines android the result is a much slicker environment that manufacturers are modifying less and less, which is seeing updates roll out much sooner after google makes the source avalible. 5 years ago as soon as I got home I would unlock the device voiding the warranty and flash a custom rom. Last 2 phones, Z1 and an S6 I have not felt the need. Does everything I want it to, has all the little features that made custom roms worth while and has been significantly de junkified compared to previous generations. Large part of that is Android itself is infact a community project and google have taken notice of the little tweaks the developer community make and implement some of them. Infact alot of legit google developers are also part of the public community and frequent sites like xda developers ect, so they can trythings they cant at work that later make it into AOSP... Its kinda like a ford rep hanging round here and going "hey these guys are doing X with great results so we should put it into production" which never fkn happens.
  17. my brother asked me the exact same question only a week ago fluff but bout an s6 vs the ip5 he had..I said just do it you wont be dissapointed, can preach all I want but you really neesld to just give android a go if you havent. Bluetooth in his car works properly finally(ranger) At a guess that would have had something to do with ios's proprietary bluetooth protocols....which pretty much sums it up imo.
  18. im really liking this car, always had a soft spot for tough, simple old school. Looks bloody tidy as well. You boy want a g6et instead lol? Imagine my daily commute in peak hour with a 4500 stall lol
  19. lol holy chit, stand on it click top and hang on hey? Should get those rear rims widend to get some tyre under it but whre is the fun in that...needs some sheep skin seat coverd too haha peter, just a classic look of the day(most ppl would just tint their rear window these days...) with lots moar low and packing serious go, sh*t hanging out the bonnet is a give away but over all I think its being executed well, just looks like a low mint example from most angles
  20. look I wouldnt pay the 4k to basically get it licenced stock and the re illegally modified again either. Which is why I suggested getting a tune touch up done first as it sits now, subsequently also getting an xcal and stock file at the same time. then the rest is just time blood sweat and probably tears swapping everything between the 2 utes twice, and obviously the cost of the inspection itself. Probably the cheapest way to get the outcome you want, 2nd cheapest to save a bit of time would be buying all the stock parts you need, which isnt completely crazy as if you ever sell it you could return it to stock and sell it registered(easier) and part out the go fast bits..
  21. ^^^I know. My suggestion is beyond rediculous, but the only other way Is to buy stock parts and pay a tuner to do all of the work which he has already grumbled about... way I see the former is the only option if he wishes to continue going on the cheap....and its still not going to be cheap OR, sell the car unregistered and make it somebody elses problem, pump cash from sale into blue one. Skids so 3 clear cut options Wait there is a 4th lol, swap go fast bits to blue one, get green one licenced and move it on....but I think he likes the green color better
  22. id day inspectors know what cars should be emissions tested even if they appear unmodified, ss daewoos and xr6 turbos are more than likley on that list. You have a 2nd car exactly the same that IS stock. crazy thought, but in the interest of saving money, wat if you got the modified one tuned First, get an xcal with a base file on it and make sure it will flash before it leaves the tuna, doesnt need to run on it at that point. Come home, pilfer all the stock sh*t off the other one, install on fast one, flash to stock, inspection. Reverse Yes its a monumental fark around but you want to save money right?
