takes a good game for me to be into it.....Still play cs:go but and have played cs since it was a HL mod lol... If any of you havent already id highly recommend going back and playing through an epic title that got you into gaming long ago if you have been into it for like 15 years or so. Pretty cool experiance.

No way they have always had an edge, there has been a fair bit of tit for tat over the years. Titan X is the best card avalible right now. AMD releasing a stonking budget card based on 14nm tech which has to be nearing the limits of whats possible. Is surley just a taste of whats coming as the budget card actually dates the R9 series with its newer tech. Nvidia will then do something better and the competition will go on and the end user will keep spending money. Nvidia cards have Physx or whatever which is a wanky advantage at best in particular games/scenarios and its actually possible to just run a cheap nvidia card deticated to it aside a radeon if you care about it so much. same same with intel vs amd. Intel actually let them copy their stuff back in the day, then stopped but licenced the x86 architecture to them. Later on AMD came up with the x64 architecture and intel were forced to eat humble pie and licence it from AMD so they could keep producing cpu's more or less. Lots of different instruction sets are not a viable option for OS manufacturers like Microsoft so the manufactuers have to play nice to an extent. Similar thing with ARM and architecture on mobile devices. The little competition between manufacturers is still healthy for the end user. Nvidia is certainly going to have to rethink its pricing given amds move, which is great for the end user as franky video card prices were getting out of control. You could buy 3 ps4's for the price of a top spec card...PC gaming is better and my preferred option but farkin hell.. Same thing with Intel until AMD stops focusing on cores and clock speeds and Intel still stomps on them with single threaded performance which still matters alot evidently, Intel will have the better cpu's and no reason to lower their prices. I got an i5 this time around and despite its lower clock, core count and higher price tag it smashes the AMD FX cpu's I have had.

Tis life. I know what you mean ralph, Jet, or anybody who works in an industry where the saftey of others is somewhat your responsibility and is not entirley in the individuals hands. This particular incident hits home for you coz you were in that role, first thing I think if there is a fire with fatalitys where there is a system I have personally worked on, your gut turns and you start thinking I hope I did everything right and its not my fault. Unfortunately that has gut wrenching scenario has occurred for me. Was all good but the first emotions that come to mine are panic on your own behalf and sadness for the families.

I have done about 30k on t3's and a1rm's, rotors feel fine and pads arent anywhere near worn which is annoying coz they are noisy and dusty and I want to swap them out for pmu's

Matty people run MUCH larger turbos on rb30's lol. Albiet with antilag, big converters, shots of gas to get on the big converters etc. I think the gt3576 will be fine on the rb30. Wont be as responsive on as on the coon but remeber the rb will turn pretty hard rpm wise particularly if its built.

well engine capacity has an effect on boost you will see from a given turbo. It tapers off coz it cannot flow enough air(volume) to hold the pressure when the 4.0 is spinning at 5000+ rpm. It will definitely see 20psi or more on an rb30, not sure if it will hold it to 7000 od rpm, though it stands more of a chance with 1 less litre to feed.

I would do suspension mods get a decent set of wheels/tyres pads rotors. zorst and stuff if you like but you wont see much power gain. Then hit the track(circuit) and learn how to thrash it and throw it around for real. Then you can race yourself looking for improvements in ability rather than worrying about how fast you can go in a straight line. If I had my p's in thesee times that's what I would do if I wanted to mod my car and have fun in a way that wasnt lame...

Bout 75-80% utilisation of 2 cards these days steve so its very much getting there

dont need to be disabled just may not get completley utilised. Definitely seeing way more support for 2 way setups so the 2 vs 1 is getting much more viable but honestly only ballers roll 4 4x rx480' at 100w each and all those pcie power connecters needed meaning probably getting a bigger psu than required seems like false economy

some may argue that 2 1080's >better than 2x rx480's which is a no brainer. 2 rx480s should still be around half the price of a single 1080 though. You could probably get 4 but that's a similar scenario to a million cpu cores/threads that dont get utilised. A better single card will always be better than cheaper multi setups that may perform equally in particular scenarios/games Not something that's likley to change as the problem with optimising games for multi gpu's is not everbody has them or wants them

They are marketing then as getting "good VR" to 100 millions users. By good vr they mean proper not some android phone sh*t

yeah I was looking at upgrading my aged but trusty 6870 to a GTX980TI but will be waiting for 2x RX480's. 100w each they claim so no need for 1kw power supplies either. AMD is definitely targeting market share with this release. I expect their new flagships will be announced soon

AMD RX480 is set to hit shelves very soon. AMD have priced the reference card at 199usd. It performs at around the 400+ price point somewhere between a 970 and a 980 or on par. with an R9 390x. Features their new 14nm tech and polaris 10 chip so its not a cheap rebirth of old tech and 2 in xfire have out performed at 1080 which is pretty fkn amazing at this price point. AMD is landing a pretty heavy blow with this series the performance at this price point is unprecedented. Keen to see how their top shelf polaris 10 cards perform if this is what they are offering for 200 bucks and no om not an AMD fanboy, they cant hold a candle to Intel in regards to single threaded performance. You honestly dont need a super cpu if your just gaming, mega graphics card is more benificial. multi threaded(k) I5 is over kill. Could honestly get a way with a Pentium D dual core and tank gfx card, plenty of memory. Few games actually make use of more than 2 or 4 cores/threads

140 buck an hour is highway robbery as well. I charge sparkys out that are takin home 45+bucks an hour at 108...guarantee we have waaaay more overheads as well
