  1. Iv just come from your situation mate and went from a 98 setup and then maxed out the single 044 on E85.. We make similar power on 98 (385kw for me) so we will be ballpark on E85 too.. Iv bought (today, its in an overnight bag) the Pierburg Bagatti Veyron Pump as an upgrade for my 044 as was on the limit and I want to play it safe without having to start again and change whole setup.. pn 7.00228.51.0 and got it delivered from QuickBitz for $297 - its cheapest retail I could find anywhere... It outflows an 044 and is e85 compatible unlike the 044 which comes with a 500hr rating on e85.. It sounds like your not keen to do a reg n rail setup and keep it cheap and simple like I also am.. my single 044 made 456KW and it was left there but with only 18psi on e85.. The new pump should see me able to increase this 1-2psi and still be a safe tune and im expecting around the 470kw mark.. which is ok for me for now.. IF u want more than this id fork out the extra now and futureproof it for 500+kw on e85 BUT rail, reg and 1000+hp pump etc is gunna be easy $1k+ from where u are now.. SO if I can offer any advice id do it like this .. and before the flamage anyone YES im a cheapskate but ya dont have to always spend a fortune to get results.. Pierburg Pump - $300 Downsize your intank to a 255lph e85 compatible pump used merely as lift pump as Skidz also suggested ^^ - $100 AND a simple blueprinted drop in 4bar reg as the boys say above its necessary as return hole size is almost doubled and allows more return flow to lower base fuel pressure - eBay - $60 Change fuel filter to 10micron e85 compatible cleanable unit.. $100 I also changed all my engine to surge lines to what my hose guy calls coastguard fuel line which is e85 compatible and is like - $6-7 a meter.. think I used 2m of 5/16" and 1/2m of 1/2" - $20 SO for $600 give or take iv no doubt u can make around 470ish KW on e85 and be sweet.. sell your 044 and your 400lph for $150 for both and your well under $500..
  2. Pac Performance (rotary shop) in Sydney mate.. They are $695 AU with the flapper port properly CnCd and new flapper installed.. They are a Brand New Garrett item..
  3. ahh nuts.. thanx for the answers guys cheers,,
  4. As topic says .. Has anyone done it before ?? Seems like a good cheap mod and maybe stronger than the after markets (Repco Pedders etc) all bar the DiffTechnics Half Shafts which I dont really wanna for out for.. Im getting my intermediate shaft in the box and also the planetary's done too and they have a Minimum charge of $200 for 10kgs so I thought I may as well throw these in there too to be hardened ?? Iv heard some kinds of metals dont like the treatments but dont know much about what they are made from and wether it will be ok ?
  5. I just wrote u an essay ^^^ up here and summarized why not.. Also pointed u to my topic .. Iv just been thru all the in the last few weeks.. http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/90786-17-rims-for-drag-not-babf/ Have a read ups.. And a heap more info here too .. http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/81665-17-inch-rim-for-mts-nt05r/?hl=drag+rims#entry1455641
  6. LOL I dont think u can ever call a 10 second street car "slow"
  7. See my thread below.. Just used a 17x9 Rota Titan but they have a few other styles too.. they are perfect with a 275-40-17 .. iv had to trim the blade bolts flush and also the control arm bolt a touch too.. I used a +35 to tuck them the best I could but u could get away with a +30 or +32 a bit better without trimming but would also loose a bit of tuck and risk fouling on the outer guard.. u could go a 9.5" rim too.. I reckon after seeing these mounted on a 9" rim a 10" would be too wide and have no bulge and take away what they are designed to do.. they tyres I went are M&H Drag radials and have a 1/2" bigger contact patch than a Mickey and are specified to be mounted on a 9" rim.. 8" ba/bf rims have the runs on the board but there are much better options and if your spending $700 on a set of tyres ya dont want them to wear unevenly and leave the shoulders with meat on them which is all too common..
  8. Right all painted up mounted and sorted Came up ok but they are not all about looks but more functionality ..
  9. Yeah man that's the problem with me too.. I often like to go to the track by myself and have a few runs and dont really trust chaining them to a pole like ya did in the old days lol.. clearing a defect isnt too bad if u have stockers at home.. guess ill have to risk it..
  10. Yeah from what I read they are a bees dick better than a Micky Radial and are a 1/2" wider in footprint.. This is what the tread pattern looks like compared to a Mickey and I reckon its a better more streetable looking tread pattern and will have a bit better manners if I get stuck in some weather..
  11. Yeah they can be driven on the road as in IF u encounter a bit of rain u MIGHT get home lol BUT technically none of the drag radials are legal in Australia.. The only legal Mickey in this category is a Street Comp and they are being phased out but they are pretty much only an Invo comparable Tyre.. Iv used a cheater slick M&H before (ET ST equivalent) and got stuck coming home and doing 60ks all of a sudden was facing the other way in traffic :/ and was very lucky to not get plowed from the bloke going the other way .. But if by chance I have them on and have a copper behind me they "look" like a more road going tyre than the rest.. and the above reasons have swayed me to give em a try..
  12. Yeah a few factors y I chose the M&H over the Hoosier.. iv always used Hoosier Slicks on my other cars in saying that though.. The M&Hs are slightly narrower with a bigger tread area.. They are slightly taller and most of all they look a lot more like a street tyre as they will be driven to and from track etc.. Another thing is they are also $50 cheaper than the Hoosiers too
  13. Bolts ... what bolts ? hahaha.. ill do it when they are fitted no worries ..
  14. Thanx for the reply Luke but I have just purchased a set of M&H Drag Radials this week instead..
  15. OK Tyres and Rims are both here Just waiting on getting them painted and ill have em mounted and fitted early next week... They are a +35 and are VERY close to the blade bolts if they would have still been there so im glad I ground them down.. Also the large bolt off the control arm or whatever it is touched ever so slightly so I rounded it with the grinder too.. now has 2mm or so clearance.. A +30 or +32 would be perfect and I wouldnt have had to grind anything BUT I hate rims that "poke" or touch outer guards so they are tucked as good as can be.. The M&H Drag Radials are VERY wide for a 275 at about 286mm unmounted so need all the help I can get with both clearances inner and outer after I factor in the slight bulge they will have. Also they weigh 8.6ks on the scales and the tyres come in at 12.6kgs (tyres have fibreglass radial bands to save a bit of weight I have read).. SO coming in mounted at 21.2kgs they are 6.1kgs EACH SIDE lighter than the stockers which are 27.3kgs.. I have no drama now doing my Territory Rear Conversion which I was worried about cause it adds 2kgs of unsprung weight each side, so after conversion im still 4kgs lighter per side with these rims on.. Ill put final photos up next week when they are sorted and fitted..
  16. MattyP.. iv got the set of stock springs n shocks from my 2011 if ya wanna PM me an offer and can work out a deal if ud like.. had em for sale for a while and cant move them :/
  17. Dr Google tells me they are about 8.1kgs.. and a bit late with the bolt ends they already goneskis LOL Hopefully have em all mounted early next week and good to go.. just gotta organise to have em painted same as my 20s.. Truetrac should be in by end of next week too so I can finally start to put some of this new power down ..
  18. OK all sorted.. Ended up getting these Rota Titans in a 17 x 9 and +35.. $250 delivered each so not too bad.. They are the closest I could get to match my 20s which are Versus Intake.. Saves me taking off the 20s to put stockers back on to go with the rears I wanted before.. Still will look very streetable and not out of place and give me a wide tyre with a great sidewall.... Offset should be ok but just ground off the blade bolts for a little bit of extra clearance and once the tyres are on and I may be able to machine a few mm off the offset to have them tuck perfectly without and scrubbage.. Going with a M&H Drag Radial in a 275-40-17.. They have a better footprint over the Mickey equivalent by 1/2" with the same section width and lots of people say they hook better.. Also another advantage I see with this rim is its very lightweight.. I was going to do the Territory rear brake conversion but when I read about the extra 2kgs each side in the disk difference I was a bit put off.. so when these rims are on its going to be the same as the stockers so im ok with adding that little bit of unsprung weight now... Win Thanx for the advice to those who contributed on this topic..
  19. yeah mate they are on the list of places to call first thing on Monday morning.. Looking at the link they are pretty expensive though :/ I have a few sets on the shortlist now so hopefully I can find some tomorrow..
  20. awesome Locky thanx a bunch.. I didnt actually look at enkei as I always thought they were top $$ and actually forgot about them.. Ill get onto the suppliers come Monday and see what they can do going by the website they have an option or 2 I can use.. BUT as u said the suppliers use a diff, poke orientated, offset these days and whats listed on web isnt usually what they keep from what iv been told in the past few days from other supplier and manufacturers.. ill see what I can come up with.. cheers
  21. There are no Lenso's or Rotas in the world iv spoke to all the shops, the reps and even the factory in Thailand of Lenso.. If your running a +29 instead of the +35 it means u have 6mm MORE poke..? my 20x10s were +38 stock and they scrubbed ever so slightly and I wanted them tucked so they didnt touch at all on bumps so I got them machined out slightly to 41.5-42 to fit em under guard.. so the 275s have the same section width so its the tyre im more worried about.. think ill go with a +40 if I get these ones custom off this bloke.. I dont mind a bit of massaging here n there lol BUT when the car will squat under braked launch I dont want it sitting down on the tyre as it leaves the line..
  22. yeah iv been searching for a few weeks now on sites.. +35 is the best iv seen 2nd hand.. im trying to keep it simple and cheap and am not going near the $400+ea prices like some of those ya mentioned.. Rota, Lenso, etc no go but as said the Drift Teks are the best option yet.. Got 1 call back from a guy today late who will make custom jobs in SA and they are $480 for 2 , painted matched as good as possible, posted etc.. They make them for FGs all the time.. Hes just checking on the availability of the 5 spoke centres but my other option is a D shaped Chaser.. They are all the same money and I can choose offset.. Im sure he would have mentioned if they wouldnt fit BUT I will check and be 100% b4 I buy them.. Thanx for the heads up though buddy , I wouldnt have thought of those bolts as im only going off measurements and offsets of my 18s and 20s and didnt think about the lack of clearance going smaller :/ It looks like the ball joint, bush thing bolt is the one that will trouble me the most after a quick look.. Heres a pik of the D shaped ones that ill get if he cant get me the others.. And they will see a bit of street here and there and running a drag radial that wont be 100% legal I dont want to attract any more unwanted attention so want it matched as close as possible I hate the look of cars with mismatched rims as it looks like they just are out doing burnouts hahaha
  23. Im in the position to get a new pair of 17s for the drag radials and was wondering what 17 x 9s (or 9.5-10s) people use ? Iv rang near every wheel shop in the country with no success.. NOT going down the road of the ba/bf rim as "advised" so am keen to buy a dedicated set for my tyres.. if im paying $700 for 2 tyres I want them to wear accordingly even know some may have had success with them to run a few times.. They will also be used to Run a few track race (powercruise and laps etc not curcuit) events so I want them to spread a 275 nicely.. I can find 17 x 9 +35 and +43 Lenso D1Rs which either of will be fine BUT they have no availability in Aust as they werent an offset that sold a lot of units :/ Their Thailand factory has nil stock too..just my luck LOL Best I can find is a Koya Drift Tek in the right offset BUT they are only offered in Black & are $375ea if I want them in Silver to match the 5 spoke stockers.. SO yeah if u have any advice u can share would be much appreciated.. OR if anyone has anything to sell id be interested in buying a perfect set of used rims..
  24. can I ask what your getting done and where its being done ? im in the market soon as id rather build it before im forced to lol
