    Speeding Fine.

So, you must have access to the mystical SOP/MOP for LIDAR that we mere mortals don't have access to. I have seen so many egregious uses of LIDAR etc in my time that I no longer have faith in the human element behind the technology. My all time favorite was watching a highway patrol driver booking people during the major dust storms we had in SE QLD last year..using LIDAR. FWIW, I use lasers every day at my work, and am very familiar with limitations.. cheers Steve
  4. Loaded onto my Nokia n97. Just make sure that you go to the application manager, suite, and specify an internet connection for Trapster. Not sure how much the data the app uses when connected to the internet, but check your phone plan for data usage.charges.. Steve
  5. Red ( seduce ) and silver work well together. Then again, I'm biased as I drive one :-) Having said that, very few colours imo could be toned back as per the Silhouette project. Well done. Steve
  6. First time with the Proxes ( purchased after some research ) and the humming/ droning sound wasn't something that was mentioned much at all as being a negative. I just want to make sure that the noise is tyre related and not something else. cheers Steve
  7. Had 4 new Toyo Proxes 4 fitted about 5 weeks ( 2000 km ago ) The first trip I did was down to the Gold Coast and I couldn't help noticing the humming/droning sound , particularly on the M1 ( concrete ) stretch. The noise ( cuts in at around 40 Km/hr ) is less noticeable on the rougher surfaces, but still there. I don't believe it is diff related as there was not a hint of the noise prior to the new tyres being fitted. I've played around with pressures ( 38 through to 42 ) , with the noise getting slightly worse at the higher range. I've read that some tyres need a running in period after which noise problems abate, but how long should one wait ? I'm going to take the car back, and get them to recheck wheel balance and the alignment just in case there is an issue there. btw, are the wheel alignment values for the FG range the same as the BF ?? If it isn't tyre noise, any other thoughts? cheers Steve
  8. Having been down the diff road with the BA XR6T, I tend to mother these a little bit now. Had the local mechanic change the diff oil today at 33,000 km ( and look at diff bush etc etc ). His verdict on the oil was that it was VERY black. Replaced with Castrol SAF XA. Seems to bear out with a few other threads along these lines. regards Stevei

    30,000 Service

The work sheet is at the office, but from memory it was a simple fix involving the application of some anti squeal compound. Steve

    30,000 Service

Just had the car serviced ( non ford dealer ), and fingers crossed, very minor issues. Having had an XR6T prior to the G6ET, I was aware of things that can go pear shaped. First up..minor heat shield rattle..had that sorted with some additional anchorage screws. Under sill fascia ( behind front tyres )..loose. He thinks a bracket may not have been used during assembly. Worth checking if you drive a G6ET.That'll be a warranty job. Front discs squeal..easily sorted. Had him check diff area ( been there. done that with the T ) ..all fine. cheers Steve
  11. Just did a dyno run this am ( torque n tune ) at Pacific Ford. Max torque..592.7 Nm @122KPH Max power 236.2 rwkw @180 KPH 30,000km, 98 RON 4th gear 20.5C Running a tad rich mix according to Craig. There was an FG XR6T ute that ran similar numbers on the run before me. They advised him to change his plates from the current 270 FG :-) Steve stock G6ET o
