sigh...
United P98 (allegdy E10 according to recent anecdotal evidence) gets better range than NON Ethanol Blended Shelll Premium 98. Shell Optimax Premium non ethanol also resulted in stumbling and hesitation. United (anecdotal E10 blend) P98 did not.
Why have boost if your not going to use it?
Only if the tuner has be conscientious enough to tune all load points. If no the potential for Knock exists at lower boost levels. But generally bad cause it's a waste of good boost.
Daily isn't tuned champ. Stock file. So E10 should cost me range not enhance it over Shell's non blended P98.
Would you like me to fill up and shell and repeat just so we can loose the Anecdotal tag?
I always run untied either p98 in the daily or e85 in the hoist ornament.
Filled the daily with shell optimax the other day lost 100ks of range in my regular commute and generally ran like a bag of hairy r soles.
Fixed a bunch of issues on a mates patrol today car has a turbo 4ltr with fg f6 bottom end I screwed together a couple if years ago.
It now turns the tyres in second gear.
The tyres are 37 inch mud terrains.
So if you are able to extract the most HP per 1000kj burned you woud require less fuel to do the same work hence fuel effciency would also improve?
BAM! Semantics!
Have you physically inspected your fuel line since running E85? I'd be willing to bet thry are cracked and dried out.
Even at 12 to 1 comp you can't get around the lower energy content of E85 so not matter how hard you squeeze if your going to need use more of it and the price break just isn't there at the moment and I cannot see that changing if demand goes up.
As a performance fuel I think it's the best thing since sliced christmas cake.
lolwut
Due to the total lack of flexfuel compatiabilty in our cars I stand by what I say.
12 to 1 doesn't account for variance in E content.
Also worth noting my F6 lives on E85 but im in no illusions about the drawbacks.
