  1. Yeah I thought it might be coming from somewhere else. gonna get it up on ramps on the weekend and have a look. Ford did and reckoned they fixed it dont know what they were listening to. Thanks for the tip, could be tears without the brake fluid lol...
  2. I'm gonna try to fix the heat shield rattle as well so if anyone has any tips that would be great, otherwise I will just rip it off until I get a new exhaust for it. at least this has encouraged me to finally get some bigger injectors, intercooler and custom tune as I;m not to concerned about the warranty anymore.
  3. out of interest what was wrong woith your gearbox? Mine has a T56 and it s really starting to clunk into 2nd and 3rd gear, only 20 000 km on the clock and I don't think that is acceptable. But for obvious reasons I worried about taking it back to ford cause they will probably wreck more sh*t on it. Might try a better gearbox oil first and if that doesn't help ask for a new gearbox and hope for the best. I did however read in the warranty that if ford can't recity a problem then you can take the car to another mechanic and bill ford but have to look at it again cause there is a catch of course. Zane
  4. took my car in today to get the rattling heat shielding on the exhaust and a faulty idle fixed. surprise surprise I drive away and nothing is fixed. the rattle is only slightly less noisy but still embarrasing and the idle still jumps around. I'm sick of it. its the second time I have had the car in for these things and they cant fix it. I think I should just rip the heat shielding off and wait for a custom tune to sort out the idle. cant even be bothered asking about the dodgy diff and tail shaft clunk. Has anyone actually got anthing fixed by ford the first time? they are just wasting money not fixing it first time and pissing me off in the process. anyway that's my b**ch for the day
  5. I drove south from the NT earlier this year consistently sitting about 140 - 160Km/h with a manual6 and it went like a dream, sitting around 2500 - 3000 rpm, though the higher the speed the higher the engine temp, makes sense I suppose. Since arriving on the east coast the engine/turbo seem fine, car seems to go quicker because of the cooler temps down here. Only thing I did was put in a good synthetic oil with a slightly higher operating viscosity (Motul 10w/40 I think) also let the car idle and cool down before switching it off and changed the oil as soon as I had finished the trip as its about 5000k's. Anyway coming back up in about 6 weeks and lookin to upgrade with cooler, injectors, exhaust and custom tune, so hopefully the tuners up there have got there act together by now... but I guess that is for another thread.
  6. Could it be the inhibtor switch? had a similar problem on my XH auto ute. Cleaned the switch and all was fine very easy to get to, it just sits on the outside of the gearbox on the passenger side, though I'm not sure in the BA's. Worth a look though.
  7. what he said. I thinking the same thing as I scrape alot as it is. Maybe stiffer springs and shocks up front, stiffer shocks in the rear and slight re setting of the leafs, just a thought don't know if it would work?
  8. go the harbour coffs turbo. how has the surf been lately?
  9. sounds pretty good I cant get below 15.9 in city driving might be the heat in darwin? And hey lay off johnsy alright Knights fan and former nova castrian here lol.
  10. There is a cop car in Darwin (a commodore) that is a regular at Hidden valley drag meets. Good initiative IMO and wouldn't it feel great to burn the cop car off. My bro is cop, it is true that they are just normal people, many who are into fast cars but dislike racing on the street as they are the ones who have scrape up the mess after a prang.
  11. I have autometer boost and oil pressure ready to be installed. haven't got a quote yet cause I was gonna try and do it myself. Interested to see what the going price is though.

    Aps T's

Its hot in darwin every day and the needle always sits below halfway, Does affedt performance as expected however.
  13. Yeah I'm in Darwin Baboon. You can feel the effects of heat soak on really hot days but the car still goes hard nontheless, I have to talk to the dealer about a bigger intercooler though cause it would make a huge difference up here. I haven't been running the edit lately cause I have to send it back to CAPA to get re programmed as it will not allow mw to use cruise control in 5th gear. Apparently there is someone getting trained to do custom tunes up here, also I am looking at getting some people together so someone copuld come up here for a dyno day, otherwise I will be driving to perth or adelaide to get a custom tune when I am on holidays. I am getting my centre muffler removed next week and getting my AWC typhoon bar installed the week after that. After weighing it all up I decided to just remove the centre muffler for better tone plus its cheap, only $100. in the future if I'm looking for big gains I will go for a complete turbo back exhaust but for now the stock one is fine. I take it you have a T Baboon. Looking at getting an edit by any chance?
  14. 18 inch rims could be an option you can find decent tyres for $250 - $300 if you look around.
