  1. Basket case when I got it paint wise. Needed some love but all good now and enjoying shifting gears with a clutch again!
  2. Inactive thread so I shall revive... New to me F6..
  3. Boss bonnet now done. Love it.
  4. Sunroof....beginning to like the factory spoiler now. May just do the boss bonnet and leave it at that.
  5. Picked up this XR50T a couple of months ago after asking a few questions on here. Then I got it registered in vic with some black and white plates. Tint next Lowered on pedders Few more mods to come. Biggest of them being sunroof tomorrow, boss bonnet and G6E lip in the next two weeks. Happy days.
  6. I certainly did.
  7. So the car is now in my ownership and I am very happy with it. Drove it all the way home from the ACT and it didnt miss a beat and returned great fuel economy on the freeway which was to be expected. Got about 600kms out of 3/4 of a tank. Not bad at all. Has a few little scratches and chips but is a very honest car and has the full service history. Mechanically it seems very strong. Only gripe I have with the car is a very very slight rough idle which I have read is a common occurrence. Any idea what it could be guys?
  8. OK so the bf typhoon did not turn out well. That was to be expected though. Getting frustrated, I decided to go drive an FG even though I didnt think they looked as nice as the BF. I loved it. Started looking more seriously into FG and there were much more available than BF's with the boxes I wanted ticked. I pulled the trigger on an FG 50th anniversary that ticked all the boxes: 1 Owner (57 year old) Full serivce history with not one service missed (heaps of cars I saw claimed full service history but had some missing here and there) all the options I wanted (minus sunroof but I will get that done pretty quickly) and my favourite, completely unmodified and in fantastic condition both paint and interior Will post some pics soon. Thanks for the insight so far guys.
  9. Exactly. Cant compare a classic car to something I plan to use as a daily drive that will need to have these things in very good working order.
  10. Good advice and am happy to travel interstate for the right car. Photos nearly always lie. I have been looking for over a month now. Getting a little frustrated that there are so many of these cars that are just plain neglected. I know the right car will come along eventually. Looking at a bionic blue bf typhoon on saturday. Sunroof, leather, 155kms, service history. Has a built motor supposedly which I will do my research on. Almost certain it will be too modified for me. 390rwkw on e85. Need to get it tuned for 98 for daily use. Will report back on it.
  11. It is killa. Questioning why the car has no books though...especially a car of such low ks
  12. Much prefer the glass. My friend had one in his BMW e36 and I did not like it nearly as much as the glass roofs. Found an F6 Typhoon (QLD unfortunately) that looks reasonable. He is a mechanic and gave me a rundown of all the services he done on it which was every 5000ks. thoughts? https://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Ford-Performance-Vehicles-F6-Typhoon-2007/SSE-AD-5387141/?Cr=4
  13. Yeah I will make sure I get it done at prestige moonroofs in melbourne not prestige sunroofs. Extra cool factor as it only allows moonlight in.
  14. I am buying it to keep it for a fair amount of time. Will end up putting both in if the car does not have them factory regardless.
  15. Why no putting in leather and sunroof aftermarket? It is near on impossible finding a decent car with a sunroof. Leather more achievable though. appreciate the input guys. Trying to avoid a landmine of a car and you guys are certainly helping.
  16. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/hinchinbrook/cars-vans-utes/2007-ford-falcon-bf-mkii-xr6t-turbo-upgrade-edition/1193843656?utm_campaign=socialbuttons&utm_content=app_ios&utm_medium=social&utm_source=ios_social thoughts on this one? guy is a mechanic and it has full history. No leather or sunroof but could always put those in.
  17. I will take a stab and say it has been down the horsham equivalent of princess highway more than a few times. I will pass on that one :D
  18. Just a tad out of my price range :D
  19. The seats look in good condition compared to nearly all the other cars I have seen in person and on the market at the moment. I have photos of the driver seat also which I think is in good condition. I do agree it is too much for the car though. I told him to have a look at the redbook value and see why nobody has contacted him about it. Its over double what redbook is indicating. Search continues. Any cars for sale you guys would recommend I check out?
  20. A colour like that would present a larger problem than usual colours such as white and grey also. I will pass. Check this one out: https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/mount-cotton/cars-vans-utes/ford-xr6-turbo-bf-ii/1191378109 What is the most you would part with for that? Seems incredibly clean but is super expensive for mine.
  21. I have not got a link as it is not posted online anymore. I saved the description in any case so have a read: EOI atm Up forsale is my 2007 Ford Falcon xr6 turbo mk2. I am the second owner, the first owner was an elderly couple. 120764 ks, low for the age of the car ZF 6 speed auto transmission K&N air filter Stock exhaust with middle muffler delete New high pressure power steering line with new powersteering fluid New front brake pads and rotors as well as a brake fluid flush maybe 5000ks old l. (do have the rear rotors and pads just haven't installed them) Recently serviced less then 500ks ago Serviced every 5000ks Rear tyres are abit worn on the inside still in ok condition, fronts are about 70% New diff bushes aswell as new centre bearing so all the stupid usual stuff that breaks on these cars is done, Premium leather seats, rear seats and passenger seat in fantastic condition, drivers side is starting to crack and fade abit Stock sound system but sounds great for stock. Small rattle inside vehicle coming from rearview mirror Paint is called obsession brown, been told its rare colour, changes colour depending on the light. Looks quiet nice There is some paint imperfections and paint chips as seen in photos. Could use a good wax and polish and would look amazing. Theres roughly 9 months rego left
  22. I am in Victoria. I am also willing to pay good money for one. As I said, I offered 14.5k for a NEO bf in QLD with sub 100ks on it and it did not have a sunroof either. That is very good money for a B series in my book. Seems to be very few in Victoria at the moment. I would be willing to do Sydney or Adelaide as they are an 8 hour drive each. Even QLD I would do, but WA is probably a stretch too far. I agree the Neo mk2.5 looks a well cared for car. It is probably better than most with half the ks on it. I have tried to consider an FG and even test drove one, but I just can't bring myself to buy one as I know I wont be completely happy with it. I love the B series shape. Much more streamlined compared to the F series. In saying that, I would consider one in mystic. Such a nice colour. There is another one with Lowish ks (120k) in NSW in obsession brown that looks quite nice. Could probably get it for 10k if I pushed. Has had all the normal wear issues sorted on it such as diff bushes, centre bearings, power steering high pressure line, new brake pads and rotors and has full service history also. Thoughts on this one?
  23. I am yet to see a BF series 1 or 2 in reasonable condition at any price, let alone the redbook value. Will just have to be patient and wait for one that has been looked after to come up I suppose. Did not think it would be this hard to find a car that has been looked after.
