Basket case when I got it paint wise. Needed some love but all good now and enjoying shifting gears with a clutch again!

Boss bonnet now done. Love it.

Sunroof....beginning to like the factory spoiler now. May just do the boss bonnet and leave it at that.

Picked up this XR50T a couple of months ago after asking a few questions on here. Then I got it registered in vic with some black and white plates. Tint next Lowered on pedders Few more mods to come. Biggest of them being sunroof tomorrow, boss bonnet and G6E lip in the next two weeks. Happy days.

So the car is now in my ownership and I am very happy with it. Drove it all the way home from the ACT and it didnt miss a beat and returned great fuel economy on the freeway which was to be expected. Got about 600kms out of 3/4 of a tank. Not bad at all. Has a few little scratches and chips but is a very honest car and has the full service history. Mechanically it seems very strong. Only gripe I have with the car is a very very slight rough idle which I have read is a common occurrence. Any idea what it could be guys?

OK so the bf typhoon did not turn out well. That was to be expected though. Getting frustrated, I decided to go drive an FG even though I didnt think they looked as nice as the BF. I loved it. Started looking more seriously into FG and there were much more available than BF's with the boxes I wanted ticked. I pulled the trigger on an FG 50th anniversary that ticked all the boxes: 1 Owner (57 year old) Full serivce history with not one service missed (heaps of cars I saw claimed full service history but had some missing here and there) all the options I wanted (minus sunroof but I will get that done pretty quickly) and my favourite, completely unmodified and in fantastic condition both paint and interior Will post some pics soon. Thanks for the insight so far guys.

Exactly. Cant compare a classic car to something I plan to use as a daily drive that will need to have these things in very good working order.

Good advice and am happy to travel interstate for the right car. Photos nearly always lie. I have been looking for over a month now. Getting a little frustrated that there are so many of these cars that are just plain neglected. I know the right car will come along eventually. Looking at a bionic blue bf typhoon on saturday. Sunroof, leather, 155kms, service history. Has a built motor supposedly which I will do my research on. Almost certain it will be too modified for me. 390rwkw on e85. Need to get it tuned for 98 for daily use. Will report back on it.

It is killa. Questioning why the car has no books though...especially a car of such low ks

Much prefer the glass. My friend had one in his BMW e36 and I did not like it nearly as much as the glass roofs. Found an F6 Typhoon (QLD unfortunately) that looks reasonable. He is a mechanic and gave me a rundown of all the services he done on it which was every 5000ks. thoughts? https://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Ford-Performance-Vehicles-F6-Typhoon-2007/SSE-AD-5387141/?Cr=4

Yeah I will make sure I get it done at prestige moonroofs in melbourne not prestige sunroofs. Extra cool factor as it only allows moonlight in.

I am buying it to keep it for a fair amount of time. Will end up putting both in if the car does not have them factory regardless.
