  1. Hi all

Well first off, yesterday I installed the Turbosmart dual port kompact 25mm bov,

I couldn't believe how easy it was to install! Take the hose clamps off on the intercooler pipping and it sits

Right underneath, it sounds great and a lot louder then the stock bosch unit, only thing is, I'm not to sure if I have to adjust and cut my air line hose cause it's doing a real sharp sort of a "U" bend from the air line to bov, and it's hard cause there both sitting equal height wise with both adapters facing up (which is why it's in a U shape). I Know it doesn't matter, but I know that blow off valve will breath a lot better with a modified hose. It's not leaking cause my turbo timers telling me I'm running the same 6psi stock boost

Thanks guys any help would be

    Much appreciated

  2. Well if that's the case I got a plumb back on one side and theyll never know what setting its on really unless they pull my BOV out coz u cant really see it and cops arent that smart..

    .

Hi dave I just ordered the Turbosmart kompact dual port 25mm aswell, and am putting it In today

Can you give me any heads up? I'm not really hands on with this kind of stuff, and also my cars runnig the standard 6psi stock boost, will I notice a noise change?

    Thanks heaps

  3. Okay thanks velocity, my friend has one on his and his is a 05 ba mark2 auto xr6t (sh*t that was mouthfull) and his I noticed a big difference, but only thing is his has all the rest of goodies aswell (plazman cooler, Headers,31/2 turboback ect.) so I might be a lot different cause mines stock as rock besides a f6 intercooler and I might not see the same results.

    Thanks for your help

  4. Hi guys new to this forum and thought I gotta get in here!!

I really wanna purchase one for my auto 04 ba xr6 turbo are they worth the money as I'm bang for buck? Everyone seems to be laughing at me telling me to go with the f6 setup instead cause it's a lot cheaper but I prefer the ss induction growler overall.

I'm 18 and new to my car so any help from you older blokes with experience will be much appreciated

    Thanks guys

The turbo spools earlier and it does rev up to redline quicker. I'd say more mid range punch.....

  5. Hi all,

Now this is a fairly silly one for most of use but I'm new to the xr6t scene and new to my engine, so without laughing a little help would be great?

I just want to know where I can find my stock bov in my 04 xr6 ts engine bay? I've looked everywhere, but probably not hard enough since I carent find the bugger.

I know I should know where it is by now, but I just want to know cause my Turbosmart Kompact dual port is on it's way

    Thanks guys

  6. Hi all

I own an 04 ba xr6 t which is stock as a rock, does anyone know if I put an aftermarket bov in say a Turbosmart one, will it sound heaps louder then the stock Bosch one? Or will I need other after market parts/ run higher psi to make it loud? My stock one flutters sounds neat inside but outside you carent hear a thing, but I wanna be able to hear it outside like a wrx/skyline. just wanting to know if an aftermarket bov will make a difference or will I need other things to make it more noticeable aswell

Thanks guys any help would be great

  7. Over 100,000km on my BFII with 15PSI of boost through the stock BOV (210,000+ overall kms), makes big flutter and I haven't blocked it off, it just can't vent fast enough. Turbo still going fine, and I make it flutter every single day. When it was stock, I could get the tiniest amount of flutter if I loaded it up in 2nd or 3rd, and shifted up at the same time as getting off the throttle...gear changes cause a boost spike to 9PSI, stock. Closed throttle at the same time to make it do it. Was barely noticable though! Very good work buying the car yourself mate. Avoid binning it into a kerb or rear ending someone, keep it serviced well ($$) and it will give you lots of boosted love in return!

Thankyou so much that's very helpful! To be honest I didn't know you could change and release the throttle at the same time to produce a flutter? Deffinelty going to try it! I brought mine with 117xxxkms and I've done 2000 so far. How much boost can the stock engine handle? Mines running the standard 6psi according to my turbo timer, is it possible to run it higher? Can the stock engine handle higher boost?

And yes thanks on the feedback, and driving it through a brick wall is the last on my mind. I think because I brought it with my own money, I appreciate it a lot more then the other younger p-platers the get there money else how. I take into consideration that I'm lucky to own one and I always get told I have a too nice of a car for a first timer haha. Let's just say flogging it is the last of my plans I like driving it with pride and enjoying the ride :-)

  8. Yeah mate it's understandable.. Most of us want to protect what's ours.. How heavy on fuel are we talking? and have you measured at the bowser? or are you trusting the computer in the car to tell you?

I actually don't know about the bowser? What is it? And I use my trip to tell me, but sometimes I'm unsure cause the fuel range it gives me with how much kms I have left drops a few k and I've only literally got off my driveway!! I filled it up on standard unleaded a few days ago and so far I've done 173kms (according to my trip) and I've got 267kms left? Now youse tell me if this sounds normal haha. I know the ford turbo models are heavy on fuel, there not the best, but I think my bov is causing my fuel to drop aswell as my low-profiles? Is it true that having aftermarket chromes on low profiles are a cause your car chewing fuel?

Just want to know thanks guys

  9. Dags_dk apparently..

Ohh thanks mate big help, yeah I just wanted to know, cause it flutters. Sounds neat, but I heard blocking them isn't good for the engine and car, it can cause backfire which reforces the air back into the engine. But because it's my daily, I noticed she's a lot heavy on fuel. I know as much as these cars are nice machines, I'm also aware that there not your average fuel bargins. But in saying that, mine uses a lot more then average, and I don't even drive in sports shift much little loan put my foot down as I'm only on my p-plates, so I might need some help there. I admit, I respect my car, and because I paid for it with my own money no loan, no finance, no "daddy's" money, you could say I'm fussy and am very proud to be able to own one of these espeacially it being my first car.

  10. Hi all

I'm new to the forums page, I'm 18, and I own a mercury silver xr6 turbo stock as a rock, it's got a capa flash tuner and an f6 typhoon intercooler. 4sp auto. I'm just wanting to know is the stock Bosch bov ment to flutter when I let my foot of in first and 2nd in sports shift? It flutters pretty loud, and I'm thinking the previouse guys have blocked it but unsure. And also I'm ordering a growler cold air intake for it. Is it possible to get my xr6 t tuned even though it's fairly stock? Or does it need to be tuned for the new intake anyway?

    Thanks guys big help.

  11. Hahah yeah sorry fellas

Yep that's right mate I get my licence next month, and it's my first car

I call it a her, cause I love it more then a women. She's always down for a floggin, and screames more. What's even more wonderful is she doesn't back chat.

Thanks guys for checking my ride

18, get license next week, turbo xr6.I think im missing something

Yeah mate I'm only 18, always wanted one, finally was able to get one, paid cash, no loan, no finance, no daddy's money

Earls inline turbo oil filter kit so you can keep the T in XR6T alive and well.

Btw I just want to know if my stock Bosch bov, is ment to flutter when I let my foot off the gas in first and 2nd in sports shift. It sounds neat, but I'm not too sure if it's good for my car, my fuel is chewing and thought this could be the case. Plus I heard it can cause detonation, and f*** the turbo in the long run. So just want to know.

    Thanks guys

  12. Hi guys

New to the forums page, just thought id upload a few photos of my xr6 t it's a 4sp auto ba model, got a turbo timer, capa flash tune, and a f6 typhoon front mount, besides that she's stock as a rock. I'm only 18 and she's my first car as I get my licence in a month, so just want some feedback on some things I could work on, and brands. I want a a turbo smart Bov, Growler intake, lower her on some ssLs, while putting some fpv dark agents on her feet. Also want some HID lights, and taking her spoiler off. She's done 110xxxkms, and just picked her up last week, so just thought if show her off.

    Cheers guys
