2008 FG XR6

Hi All, Very strange thing occurred this morning. When I turned my car on my ICC display screen was blank. Was working perfectly fine yesterday however, when I got in the car and turned it on the display just stayed blank? Everything seems to work (radio, A/C etc.) except for the 5 buttons used to change radio stations. Could this possibly be just a fuse or maybe something a bit more major? Has any experienced this before. Cheers

I've recently driven a Ford Focus and territory along with a few other newish cars and have noticed the power steering in my xr6 is very tough compared to others (takes very little effort to turn the wheel compared to the falcon) is this common in Falcons or is there a chance my power steering pump could be routed? And yes the power steering fluid is full. Cheers

Hey guys installing a sub into my car and gonna put a line output converter in as I don't want to run an aftermarket head unit. Not sure if there is a how to on here but will pot pics and how I did later on to help anyone else later on. I just got a quick question I opened up the right rear trim to see what colour the speaker wires were and they were ( brown/yellow & green/black) now I then opened up the pillar plastic trim next to the driver seat and those speaker wire colours weren't there? I can only assume they have changed the colour of the wires. Has anyone done this and can tell me what colours the rear speakers are right and left? Cheers

Bit tricky I used a trim removal tool I bought off eBay for $4 you'll be surprised how handy they become. Unlike most other cars ford decided it was a smart idea to stick the rails onto the roof with double sided tape. I found using a hair dryer or heat gun on low helped didn't want to heat the plastic strip up to much. I started at one end front or rear and lifted the strip up with the removal tool and slowly pulled the strip off, be carefull not to pull to hard and bend the plastic strip. One side came off a lot easier than the other. I have yet to reinstall them but I will either be reheating the double sided tape or removing it and replacing it with a new one as it is difficult to get the hole strip to come off keeping all the double sided tape in one peace. Hope this helps

Does anyone know roughly how many meters needed to wrap a car? Wrapping an xr6 not including the roof as doing it in black.

I second this this ^^ 3M scotch print 1080 series is pretty cheap on eBay what's the quality like? Also metrorestyling do the same stuff but at factory prices shipped straight from the US anyone delt with them?

Oh ok yeah getting some avery wrap this weekend re-doing my roof so hopefully will come out a lot better, how much do you generally pay p/m there is a guy selling $60 a metre for 1.52 wide? Is this average?

Yeah no defiantly won't be buying sh*t that's for sure used cheap stuff for my roof and the better stuff to do my interior trim. Just interested to know what "cheap" vinyl was used. On another note I noticed some eBay sellers sell 3M scotch print vinyl pretty cheapish is this stuff genuine? Or anyone bought 3M vinyl off eBay ?

What vinyl did you use? ebay special? looking at wrapping mine any tips or tricks I need to know about before tackling it? Cheers

After the car has been turned on and running for 10-15 mins you can still hear it, it goes away once the car is turned off. The sound will still be there if I leave the car idling and you can also hear it when I drive off. The noise seems to be coming from gear box area? Is there anything near the gear box or in the gear box that would move before the car has been turned on.

Thanks for the input guys don't think its priming of the fuel pump because I can still hear it when the car is running, and will still hear it 10-15 mins after the car has been running. a bit more information on it, its not a consistent humming it sort of sounds like something is moving into position slowly like the priming of a fuel pump and then stop and come back again. tough to explain but I will try get a video with sound make it a bit easier. anymore input would be greatly appreciated cheers

Hey guys I have an 08 fg xr6 5 speed auto. I noticed a sort of humming sound when I turn my car to the "on" position before I crank the engine. It doesn't do it all the time but most times, I have also noticed while driving or a low revs in neutral. It also seems to get slightly louder when I rev it. Firstly I thought it may be an exhaust component such as the cat converter? But further research I noticed that a lot of people are having issues with the 5 speed. Could this be a gear box issue? If anyone could shed some light on this situation would be appreciated Cheers

Hey guys want to remove the ICC as I want to vinyl wrap the trim, have had a good search on here and seems to be a few threads with questions but no answers? Also read there is a how to somewhere but havnt managed to find it. If anyone could point me in the right direction or give me an idea on how to remove it would be greatly appreciated. Cheers
