  1. What size and offset are those wheels mate ? They look great
  2. You need to pick up an rpm signal, Google "MSD pn8913 distributorless tach driver" you need one of these
  3. I got the car with the zf alread built so I rang rob from mt in about feb of this year and yeah he said transmax z with a genuine filter is what he recommends
  4. Only $26 for a bottle of transmax ! That's cheap as ! When does the 30% off finish ? I have a zf built by Monsta torque and that's the oil they recommend, might have to go stock up
  5. Do you still have this setup for sale mate ? Pm if so please !
  6. Haha totally forgot about this thread, so basically the end result to all of this was that the police held the car until October of 2014 and it was then released to the insurance company and I was basically told bad luck and any money I had spent on the car was null and void. The only option I would have is to sue the person who re-birthed it. I managed to get a hold of the insurance company that the car was going to get auctioned off with and we eventually negotiated a buy back price of another 12k. That would get the car back with a clear title. They had me by the nuts. I either cut my losses and throw away over 20k or spend another 12k and I have a car that at the time was worth close to 30k anyway. So I bought it...for the second time lol. Anyway in the end I got the car back and it's all good now. Im not to worried that I spent a bit more than I wanted to on it because I love the car and don't plan on ever selling it. Ended up going to court and the guy who did it got away with it Scott free because the police royally f*cked the case up. As I said a lot earlier, if it's to good to be true it is. And if you smell bullsh*t...run.
  7. I just purchased the fuel pump and bf fitting kit which was $235 posted, And I'll install it myself, at nearly half the price I couldn't really justify the complete drop in unit....I do have a surge tank though up front so it wouldn't really matter in my application
  8. Thanks for the help gents appreciate it !
  9. Hi all, had a quick look but couldn't find what I was after, has anyone done a tutorial or one of the awesome photo essay threads like Phil does on the removal and replacement of the zf gearbox ? I want to have a go myself but obviously this would make life a lot easier for me especially as I'll be doing it without a hoist ! Any help/advice is appreciated !
  10. Awesome work mate, love reading your threads !
  11. Hi all, I'm in desperate need of getting my diff bushes replaced and the control arm blade bushes, so I'm going to drop the cradle myself and while I'm there I figure it's a good idea to do them all so hopefully I won't have to do it again for a very long time ! I've had a look around the the best kit I could find is on eBay for $860 delivered. It has everything minus the bump stops and spring seat insulators. Does $860 sound like a good price or does anyone know of somewhere that can do a better price ? Also any feedback/advice is welcomed ! I'll attach a pic of the kit I'm talking about. I decided to go with the comforts because I don't plan on big power, all the car will get once the bushes are sorted is full exhaust, injectors and a tune, I don't plan on doing anymore than that so for my requirements I figure comforts should be fine..

  12. Just did a forum search on "polyelast" and found the thread you mentioned, think I'll go with comforts after what I read on there, if I was chasing big power I reckon the polyelast would be perfect but not for my application !
  13. for the superpro kit which includes the large centre bush and the 2 smaller outer ones it's $199 for the comforts and $399 for the polyelast ones so double, I really don't mind paying it though if they are as good as people say...I'm not running massive power and don't plan on it in the future so I'm not that keen on the heavy duty or solid version
  14. Interested in this also ! Mine are due and I was tossing up between these and the superpro comforts but there is a massive price difference...
  15. All those brembos :O im always on the look out for some 4 pot rears but every set I find looks so thrashed ! I actually had a good look last night and found some of the disassembly vids and guides you mentioned and yeah it doesn't look too bad at all especially now that I know where to buy the dust boots, that's given me a bit more confidence about it all. Mate im 100% with you on the price of the heat exchanger, I know PWR are great and the quality and all is top notch but I really cant justify $800+ for such a tiny basic item especially when im never going to race or drag mine so a replacement stock item might be the go. I say this now and tonight ill probably end up with the dreaded milkshake haha. Anyway looks like you've definitely got your work cut out for you on the brembo front !
  16. Car is looking mint mate, has come such a long way especially when you look back at the pics of it at the auction place ! Definitely will be keeping a eye out for the brembo photo guide you do, I read on a Mitsubishi evo forum that they all have the same issues with thier brembos and peeling and there was a guide someone did where they just peel off as much as the old clear as possible, give it a light sand and spray high temp clear over and it didn't look to bad, I was going to do that but obviously pulling apart and powder coating and rebuilding with new seals would be way better. I just assumed it would be very difficult. Are you going to do the pwr transmission heat exchanger ? I'm thinking that will be the next big job I do, it's doing my head in with the standard heat exchanger on it
  17. That's awesome news that it's passed mate congrats ! I'm exactly the same with my car haha I have a massive list of little jobs I need to do, next one will be fitting those bleed nipples you suggested and then attempting to fix the peeling clear coat on the front brembos
  18. Legend thanks mate ! And that's a really good point about where the fluid is coming from....I hadn't even thought about that, hopefully it pumps through the abs unit so it gets fresh fluid through that as well....and if that is the case then I suppose it would be the opposite order....going from the abs unit would be driver rear, pass rear, driver front and lastly pass front.
  19. Awesome read mate ! It wil all be worth it once you have her back on the road ! A quick question for you though, I want to bleed my brakes on my typhoon and was wondering what order you do them in? Is it rear left, rear right, front left and feont right last ? And also with the brembos on the front does it matter if you do the inner or outter nipple first ? Oh and I'm stealing your idea on getting another reservoir and buying those nipples as well, great ideas !
  20. hahahahha the cat and the pool, im in tears lol
  21. theres a really munted one for sale on the pickles salvage website at the moment, poor thing :( cant add link for some reason
  22. Yeah not the best situation to be stuck in ! I did do 3 different checks on the car before purchasing, they all came back clear, when I purcahsed the car I was told it was a replica and not a real typhoon, it had all the driveline and running gear interior/bodykit etc. I assumed it was a re-shell of a written off typhoon. So when I did the checks it came back as a 2006 xt falcon which is what I was told it was when in fact it was a real typhoon that someone had stolen and had the numbers of the 2006 xt put on it. Looking back I shouldnt have touched it without receipts/proof of all the work done. Funny thing hindsight. I had a blue and pink slip done and it passed both, I drove it home and as I was about to ring around for a green slip I got a knock on my door and I had 4 rta inspectors on my door step saying they suspected it was re-birthed and they wanted to check it out, obviously I let them tinking they were nuts and as soon as they plugged the computer in they knew it was in fact the stolen typhoon, it was then taken by trailer and police came etc. It has been with the police since january. All good mate they are all good questions, no offense taken ! More than happy to share the story mate, if it stops anyone else from falling into this situation. Where I failed was that I have seen so many people putting turbo running gear into non-turbo cars and re-shelling written off cars that it never really looked sus to me. Like I said though, I should not have touched it without proof of re-build via receipts or photos etc.
  23. Hi all, long time forum stalker, first time poster. As the topic States, im looking for a lawyer or someone that specialises/has had expierience in car re-birthing. I'm sure people will have lots of questions and it is a very long story so without going into too much detail, I got stung and bought a re-birthed car and it has been taken off me by the nswp. The person it was stolen from was paid out by the insurance policy so it's now owned by the Nrma. I have quite a bit of money in this car including a new engine and at the moment it's looking like I'll loose it all....hence the reason I'm after some solid legal advice. Thanks for any help that anyone can give ! Once this is all sorted hopefully I'll have my car back and I'll have to properly introduce myself !
  24. Awesome build mate definitely keeping an eye on this one !
