  1. So last Thursday I was driving my car back home and noticed some white smoke and slight ticking... It seriously felt like I just got shot...... This will only happen once I backed of booting it..I took it home and got my mechanic to check it out the next day. As a result, and after heaps of testing, compression test came back that cylinder 4 & 6 were f4arked..I purposely bought the BF M2 for this reason not to blow and "apparently" has the typhoon bottom end. In a way its sorta my fault as the car was bought tuned already at Pulse, sh1tty turner with sh1t tune. I also had all the rest of most ready to go on before it went to tune house as people always said any work carried out on these things tune it straight away. Anyway, I went round with head down and in disappointment. As soon as it starts now it’s like a smoke show. Towed it home and now sitting in me garage. Now....what would be the best options here. My mechanic said get a new/used short motor n put all accessories on it. I found 2, not new but wreckers want close to 2k for this. I also found a guy on ebay in Melbourne selling new F6 FG short motors for $2600. Question is does the FG fit? Any other options? Any other options, I do want it fixed before the new year
  2. Agree! Who is the tuner, obviously u wern't happy for a while and he stuffed you up and yet your still willing to cover for him. Shame on U! U derserve the stuff around

  4. I would contact the person you bought it of and hit him up. Obviously he knew about the issue and didn't bother to tell you. Sounds to me like its another scum seller....
  5. I had slotted DBA front and rear with Bendix pads. Were good, but had to machine them quiet often. Now I got cross-drilled slotted RDA front and rear with Greenstuff pads. Fk3n awesome. Have lasted for a while no without machining and hardly any brake dust. Got the whole setup for $550

  7. Got the set with the retainers for 32something... Regarding fitting them my close mate, mechanic does it for pretty much nothing mate. I think usually people charge like $4-500 labour time....

  9. Picked up a crow set with retainers. Mechanic will fit em on Tuesday.
  10. Done 140 Has been stock up untill around 130 Got my Turbo back today, ported and 38mm flapper mod done with Garret 12PSI Actuator. Changed drivers engine mount to. Will find out how smooth it is. Just still battling that weird idle issue.

  14. So as of last Saturday I noticed something abit weird. On cold starts only in P or N after about idling for about 1min the car starts missing beat, jerking, vibrating and engine coughing black smoke like its about to stall. If I slightly accelerate it feels weak and feels like it’s about to stall. The revs at no stage drop or fluctuate. This continues for about 2mins then on its own, idles perfect with no black smoke or anything. At this point in time the temp gauge is like 1/4 and also drives perfect and continues to do so when warm. Turn off/back on and noticed as long as the temp gauge is on around ¼ everything’s fine, anything below it continues to happen. This has been doing the exact same process since Saturday on each occasion when cold. Yesterday I did an oil change, Nulon full synthetic and oil filter and did a trans flush with kit at the same time as it was due. My Mechanic also checked plugs n leads and were fine. This morning I start it and the same sh1t. Any ideas? Do I need to start replacing the 02sensor/TPS or clean the TB? The car has had a cappa ver1 tune when I bought it. Could it be just the sh1ty tune doing this? Can I keep driving it and not worry until I get my final mods done and get it all custom tuned with the xcal3 Also, is it normal for the temp gauge to reach half way (2/4) bar on hot days. Just want to confirm as iv'e seen other posts whereby it never goes over the 1/4 bar.

  16. My cars horrible on fuel. BF2 Turbo - Auto Has a sh*tty tune, On cold starts its horrilbe, pumps out black smoke. Once warmend up drives very nice. The engine light was on cause previous owner punched the cat out. My mechanic cleared it today. On 98 no matter where I go I get 300 tops. Could I change or check anything else? Would I get better fuel now cause error was cleared? Im getting a custom re-tune done soonish
  17. Nice, been thinking about E85 setup like crazy. More power just by changing fuel... I've read a couple of threads. Is all I need to go E85 pump and injectors? And if so what's the best setup and would I still need surge or anything else?

  19. Yes, just got them done. However has been like this since I bought the car. Had a auto elec test all cables/signals and everything came back good. Not worth changing the ICC or taking it to Ford as they want $150 just to look at it.
  20. If its already registered then yes it can and will always be able to have rego. Ripppppoffff if u ask me! For that price, spend another 2-3k n buy a private one that isn't on REVS. The only time I used to buy a car that was on REVS was it had to be cheap, atleast 5k below private cost and if I knew I would keep the car longer than 5years.
  21. If I were you I'd go back and question the tune. Obviously something isn't right, if anything the guy should have called you before he started to tune it and say hey these are the issues....Do you still want to go ahead cause this will be the outcome! It might be best to name the tuner dude, this way we dont get shafted to.
  22. Yeh, My aim to get everything first, whack on then Tune as apprently anytime you do a change on these cars you need a re-tune and that means $$$ Yeh, thought so. Considering their large turbos im sure running 16PSI wont be that bad....plus that will be one of the custom tunes I set on the Xcal. Yeh, sorry that's where I checked. Theirs nothing, clean as a whistle. Unless a previous owner got it sanded back and re-painted or something. And yes the car was serviced every 7thou KMS in the log books to 85thou at a Ford Dealer. From there I guess that's where it sold via the Auction.
  23. LOL...With the mods and power he has im sure its quiet easy. I also just found out its a X-cop car. They did a awesome job covering it all but noticed it when I just got the tints done, Had very thick security grade tint, guy said only used on Cop/Gov type vechiels. Then he mentioned to check the rear right pillar, found a small NSW Police sticker. When I bought it I did look for the holes where the passesnger footwel is, nothing. Alsdo check the roof for their beam that goes across, no marks whatsoever, Also checked the doors for any sitckers. They fooled me but hey its a great car n rocks. Two things I also noticed that seem weird. Blooody Radio doesn't work. Both FM/AM. All I get it the annoying "Shhhhhh" sound and everything else works on the ICC (CD/AUX) bar Radio. My mate tested everything yesterday, even removed the ICC and checked antenna wiring. We also changed the Fm box in the rear left pillar and still nothing...Could it really be the unit? Also noticed that when any door is open the roof light doesn't turn on? Only comes on when I unlock the car or press the light on the lower centre console. Really fustrating at night when I have to get the kid in/out of the car, I'm having to keep unlocking the car. Found a set of Atomic HD Valves for $250. New. Nah...Just found it on the Cappa website: http://www.capa.com.au/xr6_accessories.htm Thinking just to buy this and get Precision Turbo to put it on when they port the Turbo for me. All up it will be a $400 job unless it can be done cheaper somehwere?
  24. Ill make sure I get a set. I was thinking either plaza or atomic HD. So no need for the actuator n flapper kit nor the porting of the turbo? Thanks
