  1. More info from Taxi Coucil of NSW Includes images etc. The reality is that the rear brake hoses are too short. If the car is supported with the suspension at "full droop" the rear hoses kink at the ends close to the fittings. Presumably the same could happen during enterprising driving when the extremes of suspension travel are reached. This problem has been seen on utes too.

    Qfm Brake Pads

Hey guys, I run QFM A1.RM pads on my T, recently ran them at a QR track day and they went fine (with DBA slotted rotors, Motul Factory Line fluid and an otherwise stock braking system). Went pretty well with a bit of fade by laps 4 & 5 but nothing scary. The pedal feel from cold is fine for the street too, dust isn't too bad (not as bad as Bendix) and rotor wear is good. I ran them on my old Skyline too which did 62sec laps of the Clubman ciruit at QR with not a huge amount of power. At $110 you're laughing... QFM info
  3. Sorry if this is a repost. From here: The Age article
  4. Hehe when are these things NOT a work in progress...
  5. Hey guys, Just thought I'd share these results with you, see what you think. Car: 2003 BA XR6T, auto Standard except for: Custom flash tune by Elite Automotive, Archerfield, Brisbane Nizpro valve springs Results: 242 rwkW at approx 4700rpm 620 rwNm at approx 2600rpm 11 PSI tapering to 8 PSI AFRs 11.6-12 Dyno sheets attached, sorry for the crappy quality. I'm impressed with these results given the standard fuel system! Paul at Elite was very professional and up-front with the costs involved, and I was able to wander out the back and talk to Tim who tuned the car and was even happy to run me though some of the very cool stuff you can edit on the laptop. Am running at QR tomorrow, will see how things go!
  6. So, took it to Ford. They put the fuse back in. They left it sit there all day, waiting for it to beep. It didn't beep. They "checked over all the connections and terminals" and found nothing wrong. It hasn't malfunctioned since. *sigh* At least they didn't charge me....
  7. Yep, made no difference. Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep. :( Booked into Ford on Friday - I'll let you guys know what the diagnosis is!
  8. No alarm, just the standard Ford remote, which seems to work fine. Don't know if I'm game enough to go pulling the steering wheel apart. It does just sound like a dodgy contact though.
  9. Hey guys, I have a BA XR6T, auto, standard. Tonight in a carpark it just randomly started beeping continuously. Pressing buttons on the remote made the beeping stop for a split second. Pressing the "panic alarm" did switch the horn over to the beep-beep-beep pattern then turning the alarm mode off seemed to make it shut up for about 1-2 minutes.... then it just starts beeping continously again. ARGH. Very annoying, and embarrassing. So I've come home (with the car beeping ALL THE WAY) and pulled the horn fuse. Not a permanent solution you'd agree. I've played with the steering wheel buttons so it doesn't look like one of them is stuck down or anything like that... Any ideas?
  10. Cool yeah will just try to get them on the car this week and see. This is what they look like for anyone curious (not a photo of my car though):
  11. Thanks, yeah I'll have them left over after I sell my Skyline, they have semi-slick rubber on them so if I decide to track the BA for a laugh then I won't need other wheels.
  12. Hey guys, From searching it seems the BA offset is +36, but things vary a bit with Ford's wheels from +32 to +40. I have a set of Buddy Club P1's (from a Nissan) that have the Ford stud pattern. They are 17" wheels, fronts 8" width, offset +32, rears 9" width, offset +37. Will these fit on an XR6T? Cheers!
