yup welcome lucky bas*ard - to the forums and the headlights are always on but nobodys home club. Cos my turbs does that too!

You enjoy your Peugeot I'd be quite happy with a Auto F6/GT with a Edited 320 rwklw, full whiteline coil over suspension, custom leather,sunroof,19's and 6 spot brembo's and you can stick ya pigeon and Big Modern Wank up your stuck up CYA JEFF PS: IMHO!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Interesting choice of words Jeff! The mity pug can power through corners and gives you the feeling of being a big ferret in a small cage as opposed to the feeling throwing a hot dog down a corridor driving a falcon!
-
Might cost you another $150k though and still get your arse handed to you in a straight line <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Dallas is pretty bang on. Unfortunately for those of us doing salary sacrifice cars, it's unfeasibly expensive to consider aynthing but a ford or a holden. Meh. IRT to getting your arse handed to you on a plate, who cares! I've been in Peugeot hatchbacks that were 10 times more exhilarating than ts or v8s. It's highly subjective! But what's not very subjective is opening a door that was never fitted right from day one and thinking what a s hit purchase you made! N.B. Subaru are among the highest quality cars you can buy. They are at least the same quality as Audi.

Hey man, good call. But the capri wasn't prone to rolling over at speeds well under 100kph (explorer), prone to the engine bay catching fire when the car is left completely idle (lincoln town car. Has burnt down many garages if not homes) or 'unsafe at any speed' like the Pinto. It just had a leaky roof! I must admit a slight prejudice towards Ford. Not in the least because Henry Ford's history. But hey man it's all about the torques in the engine!
-
Um let's not forget the Lincoln Continental and of course, the Ford Explorer
-
great looking car man. Congrats. The 18"s I didnt know wre redesigned on the BF
-
holy crap my car has only 13600 kays on it and my rears are wearing out too. Is this a consiracy. I blame Johnny Cash and the MC5. Oh and the Jewish Media Conspiracy. God bless LSD But if this is ford's quality control at it's best they totally suck ass. At least we're better than american cars.
-
I ain't had any major problem that I haven't seen in other cars makes \ models (This is including the really expensive BMW's) maybe I'm just not as pedantic... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah fair enough it's whinging. But close to 50 odd grand of car should get you some decent quality. I f cking cringe every time I see the panel gaps.
-
Heya peoples. Just curious what minor quality issues irritate you with your car. On my BA mark 2: - fit of quarter panels. Panel gaps are uneven and inconsistent - rubber seals on back door come off - plastic covers over front seat mounts come off (ended up driving over one) - intercooler pipe not fastened tight enough. But makes cool BOV noise when it does come off (every cloud I guess) - metallic paint looks dodgey up close on plastic bumpers I wonder if any have been addressed on the BFs?

Police Cars & Undercover Cars Spotted Thread

FYI Police cars are all owned by the Commonwealth Bank. Somehow they get such a friggin sweet deal, that even if the car is written off, they still make a profit on their investment. The write off value on a police car is far lower than a normal car. -
nah mate, very minor damage. Only hit at 40kph. Just a bit of nose work required. Was very lucky given the damage they tend to do!
-
Unfortunately mate, I've driven a bog standard e46 BMW 3181 (also a Z3, the ultimate hairdressers car) that had better brakes than the xr6t. Brakes are sadly one area where both ford and Expensive Daewoo are still sadly lacking.

meh no hooning through national parks for me since hitting a kangaroo in a brand new T

Police Cars & Undercover Cars Spotted Thread

Heya, at least in NSW cop packs have petrol and oil tank guards and beefier suspension. I think civvies can buy the cop pack as an option. Many years ago my old man had an ex cop EA falcon and the back seat never sat in place properly. We can only assume that's where they keep the shotty or they had some other sh*t in the back. Strange compartments in the boot too! -
Holy crap! This one was pretty effortless. But I didn't launch properly because I was so surprised the guy actually dragged at all. He looked very non chalant!
-
Heya. This was a black coupe 4. The bloke driving it had a Expensive Daewoo salesman shirt on. I won't discredit the dealer but it was near the dandenongs in Melbourne. So I assume it was totally stock and like a trade in car or something because they're a HSV dealer. There was no turbo flutter or anything. My XR6t is a 6spd manual stock as a rock! The windows aren't even tinted!
-
Heya, The other day a bloke in a HSV coupe 4 was able to effortlessly pull away in third from my ba II xr6t manual. I wasn't exactly launching it hard or flat shifting though. It made me wonder, if it was an all out drag how well the T would go. Have you guys had any decent street kills against HSVs? STock or modified?
-
It's probably like the traction control. The night I picked up my xr6t brand spankers from the dealer, I had it completely sideways around a roundabout in Sandringham before the little orange light came on! Now I just switch the stupid crap off
-
Japan are kind of in a rock in a hard place at the moment, so your comparison is harsh but fair. Both those J cars are in dire need of turbos. Trust engineers aparently reported that it couldn't have been easier to bolt two turbos on the 350z. But emission regs meant that died in the arse for Nissan. The phoon is so good because we're 15 years behind Japan! But that's a good thing. But let's face it man, what other country in the world is making a full size family sedan, RWD, 4 litre, inline 6 turbo? It's in a class of it's own and in a lot of ways, it's not fair to compare it to any sports car!
-
Was wondering about that video too, whether he was 'drifting' for speed or for show. Because I think they could've shaved a few seconds off of that. Production wise this show has a long was to go. The liberty vs mazda 6 vid was just plain boring.
-
Meh, or you could do what most Japanese garages suggest and put in a 13btt from a series 8 rx7. It doesn't exactly bolt in, but you have far more options and bolt ons that way to make serious power, a lot cheaper. RX7 was a total jocks car in Japan for megarich brats anyway, so I can imagine a few wanted to be the first on the block to have a megafast rx8. Would be very interested to see a supercharged renesis could do though.

10 Days Notice: Skid Pan Day Melbourne Jan 14th

As a line in the sand, you'll need 15-20 definite punters to make it happen. Kevin Flynn's your man though. THere are still a few places left for the Melbourne one by the way. -

FYI Boyz. I spoke to soon. Just got off of the phone from Kev at Driver Dynamics. There is a skidpan in Perth. He can organise a skid pan day in Melb, sh*tney, Canberra, Brisbane or Perth. The one in perth is owned by a company called DTEC or something. But if you want it, you can do it! Get 10-15 rear wheel drive punters together, organise the dosh and you'll be sckidding in no time! To the best of my knowledge, our skid pan in Melb is the only one of it's kind. It's 'special'. I will be going on the 14th too. But unless any potential specatators or hangers on have farts that smell like strawberries and champagne or piss optimax, my passenger seat will be empty. -

AFAIK there's only one skid pan like this in Australia. www.deca.com.au have one but it's designed differentlt. This one simulates four different levels of traction It's a direct copy of one in England. -

Good to hear dude. Hopefully I will be there, in some sort of quasi staff capacity 'helping out'. You'll see just how easy it is to drift the xr6t compared to a jap car when the find the groove!
