Anyone know what happens with the engine number when you replace the engine with an Atomic short motor? And also, where is the engine number?
-
I would be happy if that was all it was! Mine sounds like it is coming from the engine but is really hard to pin point. My tuner unfortunetely cant even tell where it is coming from. I thought it was starting to fade and might just be something settling in the engine after having the valve springs installed. I was just imagining things as it seems to be the same intensity now that I listen to it all day.

I was just wondering if anyone has any idea of the noise my car is making. After returning from Perth for a few days, I started up my car for a drive to the local shops and noticed a very light ticking noise coming from the engine. It only makes the noise when accelerating in gear. It does not make the noise in park or neurtral, only when in drive. It is not that loud and can only be heard when the radio is completely off. It is a rhythmic ticking and I would say that it does not increase in intensity when accelerating. The car seems to drive and accelerate fine though I will be taking it to the tuner tomorrow sometime but just though I would ask anyways.

Here is my personal best. Standard Auto and stall with kuhmo ecsta 245/40/18's @20psi. Here is the kicker... car dynoed 303 on one dyno, 2 days later 277 on different one.

You didn't happen to get my 12.2 run did you?
-
Great night guys! Always nice to put some names to faces from the forum and see some fellow members getting some good times down the 1/4 mile. Three things to comment on from last night, 1. Great effort by Ford number1 running a 12.8 with just (Sydney)custom tune and valve springs! 2. Many thanks to F6BF for organising the private lanes (not that I had any real competition turn up ) 3. Did manage to barely get a PB and another 1.9 60ft on $150 tyres We should try to organise nights like this more often, and I will start by suggesting a date in early August.

FYI- sorry very hard to read but main things are no rego needed as stated and long sleeves, pants are main things. I should be there just after 5. MSO1AB with a slightly damaged license plate after someone pulled a hit and run on me today
-
Is it just me going now or what?
-
Good enough! I may see you out on the 24th as I should have some MT's by then and I am addicted now.
-
I have been there 3 out of the last 5 weeks and only had to show a license. I actually have a flyer that they hand out that says rego papers are no longer required. I am in Canberra until Sat but when I get home I will post the flyer.
-
That is actually not the case anymore ZAP F6. Now you just sign your life away on the dotted line. All they are worried about is license, long sleeves, long pants, and helmet. I will post the exact details this weekend so everyone knows the particulars. We have our own lane That is great!! Those not coming better have a good excuse

The only thing I am worried about is stock BF Typhoon's pushing 234rwkw
-
Went to Dyno day at Rigoli's here in Sydney. It was a good day. There was heaps of WRX's and EVO's, a BF typhoon that pullled 234rwkw stock with 1200k's on the clock and DBoss's GT. On to my car and to relate to topic, seems like there is a bit of inconsistency between dynos here in Sydney. My car only made 277rwkw compared to 303rwkw less than a week ago at C&V. My best guess according to my mph of 115 at the drags is my power is probably closer to 280rwkw, not 303rwkw comparing it to other cars. I know that there could be a difference of about 10-15rwkw between dynos, but 26? Anyone seen my 26kw laying around I will update what C&V have to say about it tomorrow. I know they will work it out. I am still happy with their tune and my 12.2 I do however think that my car is capable of 300rwkw with the current mods I have and that's what I am after. 300rwkw and an 11 sec pass.
-
figured I'd update this thread now with new PB. I have added valve springs and actuator and C&V retune note. stock trans&convertor, pump fuel, kuhmo street tires
-
jp300+ That is exactly what I am going to do! Getting a Melbourne tune, running the car at Calder a few times on each tunes. Then coming home to do the same at WSID. I reakon C&V have done an awesome job on my car and I am very happy with there service. Another great thing about them is they are actually out at the track all the time to take care of you and offer advise. The only thing I may change for Melbourne Vs Sydney is tires. I am going to get some MT ET Streets. I still don't know how I pulled a 1.977 60' on the crappy Kuhmos I have.

I have had this as well and I've just learned to live with it. Only difference is my steering wheel seems in line when going straight. I had an alignment that made it a little better, new tires made it a little better.. but now it just seems to be back. How about uneven roads when you tramline. Its like holding on the wheel for dear life or else the car will change lanes and jump a curb. Who can resolve this? Is it normal?
-
My valve springs were ok up to about 270rwkw on a soft tune although I have a 2004 late year model and I think the springs may have been different than yours. I also had a full exhaust and that helps relieve the pressure on the springs. When I added an intercooler and better tune (C&V ) they started acting up big time.

This is a great post! I just have one question... Are there not adjustable actuators available, and what is the adjustability for?
-
As long as everyone gets through scrutineering together and lines up we should be fine. Everyone getting there on time is going to be the obstacle! WHO IS DEFINETELY COMING?
-
Nice result fill, so you running 15psi to make 303RWKW compared to 12psi to make 273RWKW before the springs and actuator ? is the purpose of the actuator to control and hold boost ? Fred ← exactly what the actuator is for and after talking to many tuners bably needed when running over 10 pounds. I left last night just before the burnouts with the other T that was there.
-
New PB after adding valve springs, actuator & retune. Note.. Street tires, stock trans & convertor. 12.272@115.49 1.977 60'
-
Now running 15psi down to 12psi on the dyno. Dont have a gauge installed in car yet. I have attached my dyno and the rest is in the 1/4 mile times and discussion thread.
-
An update to this thread... I am going to make this short & sweet. Had the valve springs done and actuator changed. Retuned to 303rwkw?? Ran the car at WSID to see how she runs. The results and dyno can be seen in 1/4 miles times and details later tonight. Result- 12.2@115mph. 1.977 60ft. I was over the moon with the 60ft time as I was running street tires ($150 Kuhmo's) and stock convertor. I was a little dissapointed though in the mph. Seems like 115 is more consistent with around 280rwkw. 12.2 is not bad considering it was with crap tires, stock convertor, pump fuel. I am getting happier with my tuner here but still awaiting the true test.. program three on the edit is just waiting for HPF to see what they can do on the BVW2. Comments appreciated

No is wasn't that busy tonight. I managed to get in 4 runs before the burnout comp at 9pm. That is usually the norm though.
-
Anyone know how, and if you can researve a private lane???? That would be ideal I was out tonight and surprised to only see one other T. I thought more of you would be practicing for the 17th!!!
