they cut yours open, modify the stator and various other bits, and weld it, balance it and put it back in. danny.

*sigh*.. This is what I dont understand.. If a product was purchased, and was not right, one would go back once and get it sorted. If it was not sorted the 2nd time, wouldn't one be asking for a refund and going elsewhere? I know I would..

Yes.. 6 speed auto is a costly exercise. However, the box is only a little better in terms of power handling. Until we are able to alter the programming of these boxes, we're just gonna be wearing out clutches, with sloppy shifts under hard power. There's rumours that there are a set of plantery's in production which is supposed to be stronger than the existing ones. Trying to find out more info about them. Alternatively, the C10/C4 is the only other option. Loosing 1 gear in the process, Unless oyu went with a AOD, as spoken about in the other thread. essentially is a C10/C4, but with a overdrive gear/different extension houseing.

or Mario's dyno is tighter than the other dyno

Did yours have lockup still? Did yours feel loose until it came close to 2800rpm? danny.

Ohh, and considering my car is just over 1 year old, and has 25000k's on it, with 4 years of warentee to go, I have not abused ford, and attempted a warentee claim. I strongly believe in, You play, you pay. Why would you want to get a std replacement box when it will break again? Danny.

Well. what can I say.. 25000k's of abuse, current tune of 300+ rwkw, and the auto decided it wasnt happy. Prior to putting my nizpro gear on, with power of approx 280rwkw, I noticed a strange "whiney" noise when I locked the transmission into 1st gear.. Not wanting to know about it, I just turned the stereo up and left it in drive.. weeks later after my nizpro gear went on, I locked it in 1st again (not downgearing, just standing, small acceleration and decell again, without the revs going over 3500rpm), and the noise I once heard had grown into a grinding / whineing noise.. Ouch I thought.. Later that night, attempted reverse gear, and it bound up, but then it worked later. I decided I didnt want to use reverse gear no more.. Got it home, and tried reverse.. Just as I thought, It was somewhat binding up, then grinding like I was driving over crushed rock... Ouch.. So, since the car was still somewhat driveable, I drove the car to Bayswater Automatics, Having delt with Grant in the past, he was somewhat interested to see what I had broken given the power I was making.. He already knew it was the plantery's, as they ahve changed millions in BA Taxi's. Anyways, In the hands of Grant, Tim and Phil, they replaced the plantery's with early V8 AU plantery's (with associated sun gear and drum), washed and inspected all the parts. They also replaced the C1 clutchpack, as this was neutourious for burning like they have, due to they believe the oil seals around the shaft not being good enough, which is how the pressure gets transfered to the C1 piston. Whilst my box was out, I told them to modify the convertor to give me more stall. As some of you's might be aware, Grant used to work at Autoflite/Dominator.. So convertors is exactly what he knows.. So, Retaining the lockup in the convertor, I am able to stall upto 2500rpm without wheelspin on street tyres.. however the car still drives like standard with a hint of extra rpm, which you wouldnt notice unless you were told.. My 2nd/4th band was in excellant condition, and they believes there is enough clamping force commanded from the tuning (notice I said clamping force, not shift ramp speed), and suggested I try getting more into the 3rd gear shift, but he said you will find its very hard to get a good hard shift out of 3rd.. I tried, and well its somewhat better, but he was right. Anyways, total cost of the repair with the AU plantery's, and the convertor was well under $1400, which I was surprised. I was expecting the repair to be closer to that without the convertor. I Highly recommend Bayswater automatics to anyone who ever finds themselves in the situation I'm in.. They took care of my pride n joy like it was their own. Contact details, Grant, or Tim 03 9729 9155 (if you do contact them, mention danny sent ya..) This is part of the auto trans, the right hand shaft being the output shaft Sun gears, Both of these gears go into the plantary. Inside look of the planterys Outside look of the planterys and the Drum. Notice the marks where the band comes in contact with the drum is still good The broken gears of the plantery Another pic, without flash pieces of broken teeth were jammed and crushed in the outter carrier C1 Clutch pack, notice the burns on the metal. This is the clutch pack used for 3rd gear. Mind you my 3rd gear was fine, no slipping, just not a hard shift. even with new clutches, its a very hard clutch to get good firm shifts out of.. although I tried

They are unbadged siemens part number, not mototron part numbers (gas-xxx). I have even had some "Edge Products" marketed ones, which is sold under MSD (MSD Ignitions). But they are all siemens, with or without a stamp on it. btw daga. your slack that was back in november !!

Your lucky you put that PS bit in. Anyways, MY supplier is waiting on stock, hense why I've done the group buy for now.. I would help him out otherwise. danny.

sounds like a lean backfire to me quite typical of a standard fuel pump/empty the swirl pot.. Get a walbro gss-294
-
Who said anything about removing the convertor lockup? My car still has the convertor lockup clutch installed..
-
I've got my standard convertor modified. I can stall it upto 2500rpm on the brake without wheelspin (previously only approx 2000rpm).. The drives very much like it did standard as its still a full size convertor, not a smaller size stall convertor which feel very loose until where they are supposed to flash. My opinion, get your std one modified, should get change from $1000 drive in / out from a good auto shop. danny.

Unlikely .. If your cat was stuffed, it wouldnt backfire

I might add, as mario had a dyno day on saturday, another car tuned by another workshop, which is supposed to have 350rwkw on their dyno, only had 320rwkw. Mario's dyno is not a Dyno Dynamics as everyone is used to, its a DynoLogic. I'm very interested to see what my car reads on a dyno dynamics
-
Well. time for a little bit of a update.. Ran the car up on the dyno again on saturday morning as I just got my car back from the auto builders (see my next thread).. Cleaned up the boost a little. you will notice the boost has like a jagged action along the whole way adjusting the boost up and down .25 of a psi to maintain the desired boost. this is fairly typical of a car tuned using the PI controller to control the boost. Benefits? same amount of boost in all gears, not 15psi in one gear, and less in the others.. (dont believe me? look carefully whilst you drive if your tuner tunes straight duty cycle) This tune has a little more midrange than it did before... Makes for more of a fun drive
so these are just a straight fit into the engine? edit & custom tune and they r ready to go?
Yes. Mechanically the injectors are the same size, and has the same electrical plug. Because these are double the size of std injectors a custom tune will be required straight away. I highly doubt the car will be drivable without a custom tune.. Danny
Yeh i am quite aware that i need a flash tuner for upgraded injectors, so yeh put my name on the list and i shall wait till we reach 20
Just making sure. I believe there was a few people last time a little disapointed because they didnt realise they needed to custom tune it.. (dags, can you also remove the list from my other post so that the list only exists up the first one) danny.
-
These will run your powerlevel fine.. with plenty of overhead.. So if you ever wake up funny one day and decide to order a atomic bottom end.. at least your injectors are big enough :) Ideally, 42lb injectors will do your requested power range.. But, these siemens will do just as good job as well.. I've tuned a number of cars which have approx 300rwkw, with these injectors, with no driveability problems, no idle problems, and no light throttle problems as per rumours going around.. As for the group buy, if your interested, and not in a terrible hurry, put your name down.. When we get close to the goal of 20 sets, then i'll start requesting payments. as soon as we get payments for all sets, i will make the order, once i get the goods, i'll package them and ship them out.. Relatively pain free (refer to my old group buy for refrences) Keep in mind, if you want to change your injectors to ANYTHING, you need a flash tuner box, and a custom tune. dan.
when do u think this will go through? If your still taking names in say 3 weeks or so I could be in
Most likely.. the sooner we get 20 sets, the sooner it will go through. I suspect this may take a month or so based on how the last one went. i'll put your name down anyways, If you are unable to purchase them at the time, you are free to pull out.. Payments wont be required until there are 20 or more people on the list, and the order will be made once 20 or more people have paid.

People have used the GSS341, GSS342 and GSS294 with no problems. It will handle all those mods you have done. And yes, You need valve springs, you will find your valves float when you start pushing more power / boost. d.
-
the GSS341/342 walbro pumps have the same size inlet feed as the standard pumps, they are rated at 255l/h at 3bar The pump he is getting confused with is the walbro GSS294, which has the big fat inlet feed, this one is rated at 5bar (180l/h approx). but never the less, this is the pump you want as we run 4bar fuel presure base, then with every 15psi boost, go up 1 bar. so 5 bar. Exactly what the pumps rated at.
Hey danny i might be keen depending on the timeing of the final sale, keep me posted.
Put your name down anyways. This might take over a month.. Who knows Pick up is fine. East melb after hours. But must be paid prior to order entire lot of injectors. But don't worry about payment yet
