  1. Ok.. We discovered a number of things tonight.. 1) I'm a sh*t drag racer who doesnt know how to stall it up properly and launch it 2) my convertor might be a little too tight for drag racing (its approx 2400rpm) 3) the right lane @ calder = sh*t (refer to last calder episode thread) So far the best time slip I have is 60foot: 1.805 660foot: 7.249 @ 99.17mph 11.170 @ 124.21mph On my very last run I launched with 2600rpm.. But being in the right lane first time tonight, Apparently I had a 2.78 60foot.. Funny that considering everything from my centre console was now in the rear seat on that launch.. Also got 125.4mph on that run as well(101.2mph mid track). The higher MPH obviously shows the massive cold change in tempreture being 11pm at night. Either way, as per last calder episode, I would have LOVED to known what 60foot my car REALLY did. Obviously with a BETTER 60foot time, I would have been quicker. As an example, I had 1 run with a 1.93 60foot, being 1 tenth slower than the 1.80, and I ran a 11.40ET.. So the rule of 1 tenth in the 60foot = 2 tenths in the ET seemed to be working quite well.. Based on that calculation.. IF I got a 1.7 60foot, that would equate to a 10.9x. The MPH is there for it.. the launch / driver skill is not! At the end of it all, I'm still very happy how it all turned out
  2. Ok well, that last time had 7.32 mid track at 159.53km/h (calder forgot what mph is) Really need to get 60foot down.. Dunno how much that would effect mid track

  9. Airbox, Cooler, Plenum, 60lb injectors, Valve springs, 4"dump -> twin 2.5" exhaust, 11.8psi actuator and wastegate port done. Autos been rebuilt with new frictions, and AU planterys with some minor valve body wake up. Other than all that.. she's stock! lol
  10. 0.2 duty around the 4000rpm-4500rpm mark.. After that it usd to ramp upto approx 0.45 at 5500rpm

Hey Robin Mines a auto with a convertor, on the dyno it flashes straight to approx 2800rpm as you can see by the following datalog The columns are, Time in seconds, Air Temp (degree's F), Desired Boost, Boost error, Engine Load, RPM, Throttle position, Wastegate Duty cycle. As you can see I had load sitting at 2.3ish @ 3600rpm in 3rd gear. Which is fairly typical. One reason why it ramps boost in so hard is because it holds the wastegate shut until the last minute (wastegate duty 1.0 = wastegate shut) This is one of the major benefits of running in closed loop boost control.. The PCM does most of it for you. Although this tune's boost curve does not look perfectly flat on the dyno (it overshoots boost at 3600->3900rpm and then ossilates a little, hense the -2.2 in the boost error being overboost), and then drops off a little. In First gear on the street, it actually needs more duty cycle around that point to bring boost up in first. So coming on boost, it has that extra bit of duty cycle to bring it up in first gear, and when it shifts, the revs only drop to about 4500rpm, where its pretty much running in closed loop to keep it flat.   15. Calder is sticky.. No need to worry about that!!! I Hope.. What I thought about doing, was when the lights go green, Roll forward so the ET counter starts clicking. Wait a second or so, and then take off.. To see my MPH to see how sticky the track still is (I dunno, we've had heaps of rain..)
  16. Yes.. But having 18psi means nothing.. having Timing as well.. And well you dont have valve springs.. So needless to say whats happening with more boost and those poor valve springs of yours
  17. mines always come on fat.. so I'm kinda used to it I'm ashamed to say :( You can notice the difference in the pull however..

  23. Yes.. I will NOT Tune any BA engine anywhere near as hard as this. there's been too many BA engines blown up.
