  1. haha yeh. Seems his got a startrek theme going on too...
  2. ya think we could ever go this far??? http://racergeeks.com/showthread.php?t=975
  3. Both Christian and myself went down to Autotechnique where we done a number of things. First thing we did was remove the blower/manifold again because the manifold had no boost reference point for the fuel regulator.. I only noticed this when I started tuning it wondering why it kept going lean given the fuel I was commanding. So in talking to ken from Harrop, he suggested this could be due to a pre-production unit that Herrods got their hands on (which is whom we bought this kit from). After I put a boost refrence into the manifold, I changed the plugs, and strapped it to the dyno. First thing we noticed was the kit was 12psi, Mixed with a incredibly high compression ratio of 10.8:1, a few runs were done, and it was decided we are really pushing things too hard. I assumed this was a 8psi pulley, and given I could only put about 4degrees timing at peak torque indicated there was too much dynamic compression. At this point, it made a lazy 292rwkw. Any more timing anywhere in the rpm caused it to detonate. A larger pulley is in order now hopefully to bring boost down to a lower 8psi where we can put some timing into the engine, and make it effecient!
  4. hell yes some invite only DVD launch great success
  5. No cruising for me tonight... Going to a gentlemens club with the boys
  6. Ok.. First drive of the thing looks promising, I have NOT given it wot yet, but from 1500rpm in 2nd gear, with 1/4 throttle it seems to just turn the tyres........
  7. Nah not yet. I dont imagine it will ping given the timing it has when it starts boosting, but we're organising this straight onto the dyno.
  8. Its ALIVEEEEEE This is only the first tune with rescaled injectors, 2bar map sensor, and rescaled timing map to suit above load 1.0, will be put on the dyno sometime this week
  9. need to marry it up with the other modules. Its called a "parameter reset"
  10. Magic 8 ball says "Ask me again later" sorry, it seems to be avoiding answers for me too..
  11. It was just confirmed on the fordforums site that the new 315kw Boss engine is the only one with a larger water pump pulley to under-drive it because they bumped the rev limitor up.
  12. Lucky for me, you don't own one Michael! You wouldn't know yourself..
  13. Im sure it will be just as exciting as watching grass grow..
  14. Ratter and Fat-Tony, When I mentioned the belt and the underdrive pulley, I was refering to the factory Boss engine has a larger water pump pulley, hense underdriving it, and because of that, the supplied belt was only just too short. I believe this is kit will do 6 or 8psi
  15. Based on the BF XR8 I tuned last december, I'm confident this will make 350rwkw at a minimum. However I'm very concious of the 10.8:1 compression ratio. the 315kw persuit/gt motor does not like much timing at all. The BA/BF HARROP kit is available now, and I believe on the fordforums website has a special price of $10400, Supply only. Of course you will need a workshop to fit and tune.
  16. It was fairly straight forward.. There were a few things I did not like which I will feedback to Herrod and Harrop about the fitment of the kit, But one of the issues, I'm unsure of its because its a FG. There's 2 water lines that run in the manifold valley to the heater core in the dash, these steel lines are replaced with Harrop supplied ones because it would foul with the new harrop manifold (being deeper because it contains the water intercooler). I dont know if the firewall spacement from the back of the motor has changed, but I used my own rubber hose there instead. I also feel that that section of behind the motor is rather cluttered, with the 2 water lines from the intercooler, those 2 waterlines going to the heaterbox, and the wiring loom behind the motor.. A bit of frigging around, we got it all neat. The kit comes ready for a BA/BF, but because of the change in the FG, a new water intercooler needed to be fabricated to suit, HERROD supplied this (as he dummy'd this kit on his own FG). So all the intercooler and water hose routing was our design. Keep in mind no instructions were provided, anyone with good mechanical sense (and seen how the alternator reverse mounts prior) will understand how to put it all together. I believe this will be the First Running FG kit. Rob Herrod originally dummy'd this up on his FG, so he could make the appropriate needed changes to the kit to suit the FG. Yeah.. Harden the F&$% Up! Christian has never worried about warentee.. And wont mind if it blows up... Not that it will But the high 10.8:1 compression is a little scary! But in saying that, He is willing to push it also, and has spoken to Herrod about Rods and pistons... The car has not even been started yet!!!
  17. By the way, the alternator isn't mounted because we are waiting for the correct sized belt.
  18. Now, back as late as last December, you may have remembered me talking about Tuning a "Blower Kit" for our BA+ Boss V8's. It as it was still under development at the time, I kept quiet about the company. Never the less, Back Last december, At Autotechnique with Mario, I tuned Harrops development BF XR8, fitted with their blower kit, of 8psi (or maybe 10psi, cant remember now), to a power of 349rwkw on a totally stock XR8, sure there was probably more in it by putting exhaust on and tuning more timing into it, but that wasnt the goal of this setup. This weekend has been quite busy for me, and Christian.. Subject: FG SuperPersuit 315kw, with 3500k's on the clock After a weekend of fitting the kit, and drinking for my birthday.. This is the end result Its all complete, the intercooler water system is filled and tested for leaks. but all that remains is to get the correct belt, as the one supplied was for a BA/BF XR8. The FG Super Persuit has a larger (underdrive) waterpump pulley on it (not sure if this was the same with the BA/BF GT). Another thing to note is that The FG needed some more custom parts fabricated to suit, namely the water/intercooler infront, which was done by HERROD Motorsport. More details to come soon!
  19. Yeh, well I did use the handbrake in the launch to get some more boost, I think I took off with 13psi boost to get the 1.64 60foot.. but I closed my eyes waiting for a driveline component to say no! Heathcote was quite stickie, I didnt have any wheelspin problems off the line.. But yeah, my auto/convertor guy called me up, and we had a bit of a chat, he wants to make a few changes to the convertor, he thinks he can get 60foot down more, and hense the ET
  20. I've seen him drive... Im not game. I had to drive it myself with Christian passenger!
