Although the Picture is Misleading. Its currently in pieces, Retarder is getting rebuilt/rebalanced, Pitboard is being replaced. I did purchase the complete setup. Ramps (for above ground mounting), Fan, Computer/electronics, Printer, etc... Everything I need to get going.

You could count your cookies on it Lol.. I like that.. "Main-road"/Mainline.. Doing touch up on the street will still be part of the process.. In my opinion, you cannot simulate road load on a dyno. Making sure the PI circuit on the street during gear changes is where its at.. You cant do that on a dyno.

haha.. No it wont be used @ home.. Although there's plenty of room for it.. I was my own santa.. Gone are the days when mummy and daddy bought you santa presents....

Hey guys, Over the recent month or so, We got wind that the "R" word was possibly going to happen, and Last friday it was announced.. Lucky for me, I was one of the 18 who got cut(out of 30 indirect staff).... Lucky I say? yes, Based on the package that was handed out, There were alot of smiles to say the least.. Of course, there was the few who were heart broken.. So right now, I'm at a turning point in my life... I'm Unemployed, I haven't tuning a car for some time, for myself OR Autotechnique. Infact, Since HPTuners is now available for Fords, I would say Mario's taken it upon himself to LEARN his own product, as he would have to Support his HPTuner dealer network. Of Recent times, I've been working closely with a number of workshops in Victoria, Helping them understand the Ford PCM further than they already do. I've felt some good feedback from them, importantly been finding out what people struggle the most with on these PCM's, and helping them further succeed in what they do. Personally its been Fun aligning myself with these Honest workshops. Where to go from here... I've applied for 5 jobs last week, 4 of which have got back to me, and 3 interviews where scheduled. I'm feeling the Job market is more alive than its ever been, even given the amount of downturn/redundant people around... I think people are just wanting to sit it out, and stay in a secure job! But do I want to stay in IT as a full time profession... Or do I want to continue what I'm passionate about? I decided to buy myself a christmas present...... that's right... Right now its at Dyno Dynamics. Its getting various components replaced as they were water damaged, as the Pit it sat in got flooded..

Grr where's me dramatic hamster link..... When boost is tuned in open loop, a cold night WILL make boost higher. More dense air = more power = more exhaust gas = more boost The pcm does not auto adjust boost in open loop, it only feeds acertain duty cycle per rpm, With no feedback to adjust dutycycle Closed loop boost will adjust, but will still vary if things aint right.. Ie using my car as a example, during the day, my car makes approx 17.5psi using 100% duty cycle, and during the night when its colder, it makes 18.5psi with 85% duty. Pcm has desired boost of 18.5psi, but runs out of duty trying to get it during the day, but it gets there at night. Having the wastegate port done, generally makes a actuator "psi rating" smaller because there is more presure on a larger port pushing against the actuator spring (same presure, just more wastegate flap area with presure applied to it). Ie, a 12psi actuator and 0.1 duty, I've seen as low as 9psi boost. Ideally in my case a stronger actuator will help.... or I could punch my cat, which I'm not a fan of. It could be quite possible that your car is overboosting. Get a boost guage onto it and see the boost difference at night compared to day. Danny.

Intermittent problems are the hardest to diagnose! good luck with it. I doubt its the Cam solenoids but, cos even if the cam position was wrong, it should not break down in spark..
-
I've already got my photos maximus.. also, I'll be in for the night shot one
-
Highly recommend it! Bigger disks are the key to having better brakes! That adaptor was also a custom job
-
they're SUV wheels..... Aint they R-SPEC?? hehe, not sure who set the kit up.. race brakes or something? same caliper, but different mount bracket to push the calpier further out to handle the 355mm disk We all know brakes work better with bigger disks
-
ummm we're not supposed to talk about this in public john
-
you got the 330mm disk version, or the 355mm disk version as hinrg has?
-
the mighty HINRG ps.. headsextuned Nah all honesty, his my best mate
-
Man. I love these pictures.. What camera do you have?? The photos are "Glowing!" And you didnt get one of mine... Its next to RLQUIK there :(
-
Christians car has 340rwkw with his 6psi pulley.. and a tray full of tools (so the back sat lower....)

Hey guys.. Today turned out real well, and as we arriving in RYE the rain did start to drop, but it held off! we got some real good photos up at arthurs seat on the way back.. I know this would come as common sense to some as I captured some incriminating photos on my camera, I'm sure the owners of the cars wouldnt want them made public.. So I'd appreciate if these types of photos werent made public if you have any.

Yes.. He has a timeslip! This is what we are arguing about! It shows a 1320" (1/4 mile) time 0.001 quicker than the 1000" time, as well as showing 24.xx MPH..(NOT 124mph) Go have a look at it Also. There's nothing wrong with a full nizpro kit
-
Dude.. You are ASSUMING yours is 124mph, when both the timing board, and the timesheet SHOW 24.xx! as ford esky said before, Your mid track numbers DO NOT add up to 124MPH OR 11.67. Its against drag racing mathmatics! The video is irrelavent, you CANNOT see when the car crosses the line.. When the timing board lights up is not a indication of crossing the 1/4 mile point, chances are it lit up BEFORE you crossed the finish line, with the results of the 1000foot!
-
I did watch it... MPH shows 24.43 Timing error! Its Likely Showing the 1000' time, not the 1320(1/4 mile) ET. Everything in the Timeslip is correct until after the 1000foot time.. Who knows.. Maybe the guy loaded up his favouriate Mp3 collection as Worm was running on the timing computer! If your using the video as a refrence to when it takes off, and from when the Timing board lights come up, your invalidating it.
-
Dude, your missing the "FACTS".. No one here is saying X Y or Z is sh*t, mearly we're trying to highlight the fact that the timeslip and the timing board in the video are a direct evidence there is a timing error.. the 24 MPH is indicative of that! the 1 (for 124) never failed to Light, It didnt print on the timeslip either.. that's why we're saying its a timing problem. I"m looking at a timeslip here, of a Auto BA, And I suggest you go find your 11.8 second timeslip of yours to Also compare 60foot - 2.19 660' - 7.769 mph - 98.79 ET - 11.767 MPH - 118.04 Worms Mid track ET was 9.289, and mid track MPH was 88.99.. Not even close to this timeslip here
-
Autos, Yes. Manuals? BCL's BA is a perfect comparison.. Higher MPH than yours, 135 vs assumed 124(printed as 24), Better 60foot than yours, 2.2 vs 2.6 But his has run 11.9...
-
Your 60foot did look like a 2.6 60foot from the video. Compare your timeslip to another car that ran today.. Worm XRDose 60' 2.616 2.241 330' 6.442 5.685 660' 9.289 8.403 mph 88.99 90.83 1000' 11.672 10.719 ET 11.671 12.676 MPH 24.43 116.55 Everything makes sence until your ET and your final MPH.. Looking at the mid track(660) MPH of 88.99, compared to XRDose's 90.83, and his final MPH of 116, shows that yours cannot be 124mph, but infact is 24.43 as printed (as it was displayed also on the time board) Also the ET is 0.001 is less than the 1000' mark, Indicates a Timing problem Going by the increments between each timing point(ignoring the incorrect Final MPH), you have a approx 13.5 pass at approx 115mph.. I'm sure this MPH would be very similar to the second Drag you ran which you totally wheelspun out of the hole (the final MPH will still be very close) Now working simple drag racing math into this. To improve on this 13.5 pass, you would need to bring the 60foot down to, say 2.0 at least. taking 6tenths is 1.2seconds ET. So, given the tune exactly how it is, if you could launch it with good rubber, technically you should be able to get a 12.5 at least
-
Yes. At least he has his own broken timeslip.. I've known people to "borrow" other peoples timeslips in the past.. haha! But yeah, a Backed up timeslip, or a number of timeslips showing fairly similar times upto ones Personal best would best validate it
-
I would.. Arm yourself with some SEMI Slicks.. The better launch you can get off the line really puts towards having a good ET!
-
Im not trying to discredit anyone, Im just saying, the timing slip is wrong. Timing issue. Back when I had my XR8, I have a timeslip showing I ran 134mph, with a 14second ET, and a 2.4 60foot.. looking at that definately shows timing error. If you had a 2nd timeslip/video showing MPH which we'd expect for a Manual doing a 11.6ET, then it would make sense. What was the MPH of the second pass, when you ran a 14 odd?
