  1. http://www.nology.com/images/focushotwirekit.gif Seems the 2004+ focus 2.3l DOHC uses the same coils as our car.. the plugs the same.. the coils the same.. I wonder really how well these things work as your still using the factory coils.. their "technology" is a capacity in the coil lead. also. Strawberry, were one of the coil packs you tested a denso drop in replacement unit? I was given a set the other day to test.. But im rather reluctant to do so.
  2. that's justin feel fre to call him BIFF
  3. It has similar power to before.. Love that gate! :D
  4. Haha.. Nah. Terry is in your hands now.. This is a loaner they gave me...
  5. Guys.. I've decided the Turbo Territory is too big for me.. So I've swapped to something a little more appropriate for myself..
  6. LOL.. well, you guys need to sort out my key programming first! One of my keys don't work, when it was attempted to be coded, there was a PCM fault. I want that sorted before I attempt to tune it (was sarcasm in a post earlier). As for mods.. No idea yet.. Will leave it as is for now. It drives remarkably well in standard form!
  7. Firstly, if you have a converter, you need a trans cooler. In terms of mods, The boxes are usually standard rebuilds, using standard replacement frictions as per the factory recommendations. The Band is a hi energy band. Plantry's are treated, but this still doesn't stop them from failing. I've broken 3 sets to date. Valve body modifications basically include increasing flow to the Bar and Car circuits. There's a bit of work there. And also couple of springs are swapped out for heavier set. As for exact details.. Trying to describe that would be.. Impossible =) Plus.. This is stuff auto builders like keeping secret. Oh and also. Some auto shops make a aftermarket Servo for the Band Apply (2nd and 4th gear). I've also got this in my auto.
  8. Haha, Nah, I havent tuned it yet. Its stock standard. But, let me tell you.... It wont be long when I do tinker with it. Its replaced my daily EF Fairmont. Last thing I want to do is push it too hard things start breaking..
  9. Yeah,, We were only talking about it the other day :D
  10. Oh yeah. Made a quick recovery.. This is my Daily, Needed aircon that worked..
  11. So.. James tells me he is trading his honda for a terry, And I since I was nearby of Jeff Wignall in frankston, Where Christian (RLQUIK) works. James Ended up getting this Pimping White Territory Ghia is what James ended up getting.. And My arm was bent backwards, and I ended up buying this... Turbo Territory Ghia.. Big thanks to Jerome and Christian (RLQUIK) for looking after Me on my deal.. Sorry James, Dunno who your sales guy was And yes.. We both still own our XR6T and F6's....
  12. Why is that? I don't owe anyone anything. But lets just say the genuine factory fords have been in my car with only 1 coil failure. I've got some assumptions on why these are causing a early failure. But at the end of the day. My ford coils haven't really let me down as badly as the problems your having with coils.. Non genuine copies maybe. But ask blueboost what coils his running. Or the 2 Gtech cars.. or Adam hargraves car... looks like standard coils under there to me...
  13. I've got a number of contacts in the States, And Publically, everyone can see for themselves on the modularfords.com forums. That link I posted eariler is just one example. I've seen enough of your "Technical Level" posts not to care.
  14. Provided your coil packs have the energy to light them, yes. But in saying that. A "Bigger" coil driven with a closed loop dwell control limited to 6.5amps is not going to do that.. There's a better way of improving spark on these cars.
  15. Don't waste your time. Americans have tried everything, but due to the closed loop dwell control of the PCM, Unless you know how to modify the values (not available via any editing software), your wasting your time. Although Strawberry has done more "reliablity" type testing, I have heard of standard coils failing, but not to the extreme that's suggested. As for Borg coils, yeh, I have seen them fail VERY quickly. Personally Stick with genuine ford ones. Here's some Entertaining reading of the WeaponX guy (Marc) WeaponX Fuel PID Analysis/Recommendation - ModularFords.com The thread does originally start talking about PID control of Fuel pumps (they run different fuel setups than we do). He brings his technical theories to the table, bag out people's REAL WORD theories, and gets slammed. (Whats the world without forums) The fun starts from like Page 3, and then again at on Page 5. Take note of the comments from "Jerry@Injecttek / JerryW". He is after all one of the original key guys that started SCT. Here's a Quote from Jerry.
  16. Ahh nice, you were suckered in too.. You should have bought "original" Honda/denso coils instead at 1/3rd of the price, rather than the rebadged weapon-x version. for best results, the ford PCM needs its dwell settings adjusted to suit the coils. Straight bolt in wont take advantage of it, although their performance has been known to be worse than some ford coils..
  17. At least now you get yourself a pretty Harrop TruTrac
  18. bottom of the pump sits approx in line with the swaybar. So its not the lowest part of the car.
  19. Once the mixture is lit, the extra energy from a coil is pointless.
  20. Ive had 1 coil pack fail. not power related, but heat. Ex gf's NA XR6 also spat a coil pack.
  21. Nah, he wasnt spilling his drink on his shoes
