  1. I'll highlight the part.... in saying that.. RWKW has nothing to do with it either.. I could have 500rwkw, but drive it like a grandma.. Without a trans cooler.. I can tell you my auto will last at least 3 years that way.
  2. The build of the auto has nothing to do with needing a trans cooler. There's 2 major reasons why people put trans coolers on. The first and most important is to BYPASS the cooler in the radiator.. If you saw what it looked like, especially after a tranny failure. You'd want to change it also. They clog up and cause earily tranny failure. And of course the second, being a better cooler than the radiator cooler. a Stall convertor Produces more heat, PERIOD. Heat is bad as it thins the oil, and essentially causes slip. Your convertor problems were nothing to do with TCE / Dominator. Turns out there was a problem with the Dominator once they split it. Depending on the turn around time for the auto, they will either use TCE or Dominator. TCE is prefrence based on experiance anyways. If you were to get a convertor, You wouldnt get a factory modified one. You can only go so far without loosing too much positive drive. Ideally you wanna go a smaller diameter convertor. But in going smaller diameter convertor, You also loose Oil capacity = need better cooling capacity. Stall speed isnt based on "wanting" 2800rpm. Its based on the torque your engine produces. More torque. The tighter the convertor will be.. Ie, 2 identical convertors in 2 seperate cars. one will do 3000rpm, and the other will do 2600rpm. Clearly the one that does 2600rpm produces more torque. There was a hell of a lot more information I posted here, but I lost it pressing undo too many times. and I cbf re-typing it all.
  3. no valve springs, no actuator, monza cooler? Doubt it Whos dyno? Where's the dyno sheet?
  4. Its not the big Rwkw figure at the end of a dyno graph which dictates a race. Everything else makes a difference. A 360rwkw car from Tuner A will garentee'd to be different to a 360rwkw tune from Tuner B..
  5. I wouldn't rely on a intank pump for anything over 300rwkw. Sure, Plenty of people have done it. But Personally I don't like it. Surge on a problem on sedans with low fuel, and increased power levels. An 044, especially mounted as per a Process West setup, is better fuel setup to support higher power levels, and elimintate surge. I've had cars, go from a intank only setup, to getting a PW Surge tank installed, and found the engine responds nicer when it has a 044 up the front. The Afr's were correct before and after, but there is a noticeable difference in the after setup. I've even managed to put more timing in also. The Process West surge tank is the only one I would consider for these vehicles.
  6. Mitch is a bigger hoon than 99% of people on this forum. Countless fast modified cars, and bikes! XR6T, F6's, WRX.. blah blah blah..
  7. SSG is one of mitch's cars.. Its his company's initials. He owns the Blueprint BA XCITMNT or however its spelt. SSG-01 is not a unmarked pursuit car.
  8. Yeah. I've got a 42 on mine at the moment, Its quite street friendly too I know I've been saying it for some time.. But built motor is going in soon.. Now that Haydns car is out the way.. I can focus on mine again! Yeah, I remember.. I also remember what 4wd cars do to me out of the hole.. LOL.. So I bought a Turbo Territory! :D
  9. Yeh. I suspect it is DTM.. I believe his also around that side of town as well. They had a article in street machine talking about it. Of course it will be very cruisable.. It still has 4th gear =) Personally, We've done a few more valve body mods to my car to step up the apply pressure hopefully to make mine cope with slicks with the increased power =)
  10. Nice.. So essentially its a earlier hydralic 4speed with a reverse pattern valve body hey? Did DTM build this box?
  11. *shakes head at street races* Take it to the track ladies. What auto you got JETFPV? C10?
  12. It was fun.. I had many tears too.. as well as alot of battle scars! I think I still like the original wheels over the 20's you just put on... But it doesn't look as bad as I imagined! The tyres do lack grip however! Anyways.. Shouldn't you be working?
  13. it is comes free with a horrible whistle in the rear muffler too....... the single 3.5" outlet is better than the twin tip outlet. but well isnt as cosmetically appealing as the twin tips.
  14. There was its own thread... Made by a cruise control op for the purpose
  15. FYI, Evildafu started the thread for me also..
  16. it didnt go as "sick" as I imagined.. But yes, v10 did sounded good :D
  17. Guys. I'm unable to attend the Rye Cruise on the 20th.. Plus there doesnt seem to be much interest in it either.
  18. It was merged with another post.. the main vic chat one I believe...
  19. Hahah.. reading that response.. It just reminds me of the saying .. "Trust no one" or some other kinda X files quotes
  20. your a tripper bro! LOL Anyways. a Update for you guys.. Ran the car up on the dyno today, It made 355rwkw straight off the bat. But I called the tuning off at this point as it had a horrible boost osilation which I wasn't going to waste dyno time on. Air fuels were pretty spot on what I'm commanding also. After a initial scare with the AFR's going leaner than commanded top end, I Put the wideband sensor in the dump, and it was more representative of the AFR's that were commanded. Suspect the rear muffler's causing some sort of reverberation of air when the airspeeds get up there.. It creates a awful whistle also to suggest that theory.
  21. Why was this merged in.. THe details are hard to find for the noobs! 1. Headsex 2. TUFXRT6 3. NVYDF6 4. ARSEPECK 5. RLQUIK 6. MA77Y 7. Spine 8. Dyno-Mite Performance + 1 9. 22. lol... A surface grinder would have been ideal! And no comment about the wrist strength.. LOL
  23. A micrometer... Rotated it 5 markings.
  24. If you think it went good on tuesday Haydn... woah, you should see how she responds now... Its the only way to do things in my opinion.. If you can't do it right the first time, Don't bother doing it at all! Skimp out or take shortcuts.. You just end up fixing it again later! You personally saw the level of detail I was going to when assembling parts of it. I've seen a number of engine blow ups in the past.. all the cases I've seen the conrod big end was still attached to the Crank journal. Clearly indicating what happened. This wasn't the case with haydns. Infact, the beam wasn't even bent, it looks like it was stretched where it snapped. So I was curious to find out more. Heck, I had to deal with a number of engine shops in the process so why not.. These engines do look very pretty dressed nicely, that's for sure :D There are some planned mods coming in the next year... along the lines of a big turbo... Ain't that right Haydn?
