  1. Also changed the stock exhaust tip this morning as well. The stock tip was crooked and that made it look crap. Heres a pic of the new tip on the car:

I got the windows tinted on thursday and the car is lowered 30mm allround (measures 345mm centre of rim to guard), Any lower and I wouldnt get the car into my garage and besides the G6ET is only my daily drive car. My other is dumped on its guts but luckily never has to get into my garage. Heres a few pics and Yes the picture quality is crap (cheap camera) and it was raining all day as can be seen in the last pic Also today I painted the grilles and part of the foglight surrounds.
  3. Well now that ive had my G6ET back for a few days and have knocked up over 600kms on the new engine, ive been keen to monitor the above ambient temp and fuel sender issues.... Well it seems mine are abit dodgy too. My fuel light comes on and the car beeped "80Kms" but when I filled it up it only took just over 51litres!, the outside temp degrees is out by around 8 degrees C, it seems to be especially bad on the cold mornings we have had here in the adelaide hills the past few days (temp says 14degrees C but outside its damn cold/foggy and around 6degrees C).

  7. Well today I managed to knock a couple of hundred Kms up on the new engine and I must say it seems all good so far, the addition of the XR8inlet/lower airbox seems to have added a few extra Kw's. Heres a few more pics taken this morning:
  8. Correct there. Unless the piston had a noticable defect that could be seen then there is no way a "weak" casting would be picked up unless it sh*ts itself like what happened to mine. At the end of the day if it is a piston fault then you can expect Ford to be claiming all cost from the piston supplier (ACL/Mahle)
  9. The old engine has been sent back to Ford engineering where it will be fully stripped down and evaluated. They are going to let me know what caused the blow up. At this stage they have suggested a faulty piston casting as the most probable cause.
  10. Everything seems ok so far. Heres a quick couple of pics I just took, cant really get an idea of the rideheight from these pics but on level ground it sits just nice . The king springs lowered the car 30mm. Tomorrow im tinting the windows which will make it look much nicer
  11. LOL na im all good I picked up the car late yesterday afternoon drove it straight home and fitted up the lowered springs and XR8 inlet/lower air box. Yes yes I will post up pics when I get a chance to take some pics as the car is dirty as due to it raining today.
  12. I wont be along on Saturday as im spending saturday arvo tinting the windows and then fitting the lowered springs to my G6ET. Will try and get along to a cruise next time though.

  15. Yeah the BF fairlane ghia is actually a pretty nice thing to drive, way better than the BA wagon deathtrap that the ford dealer gave me to drive when my car went bang. Had a update from my dealer this arvo....my car will be ready for pickup next wednesday, I guess then I will see how big a dodgy/rough job they have done on my 1 week old car. They have been warned that the car will not be leaving there dealership unless im 100% happy with the car after I have given it a full inspection and the car better be in as new condition or damn there going to see me spit the dummy :laughrolling:
  16. Yeah mate, Complete new engine arrived at the dealers workshop on thursday.....but as they are so busy ( ), they wont be able to fit it and have the car ready until after easter at this stage. So until then im driving the rental BF fairlane ghia that ford CRC arranged for us. Im bloody hanging to get the car back as I picked up the king lowered springs and XR8 lower airbox/inlet for my car today.
  17. My first car was a 1965 XP ute which I had done up and fitted a 250 2V, top loader gearbox and a LSD equipped centura diff along with brake and suspension upgrades. I did all this back in 1989-1990 when I was in yr12 at school.

My G6ET dropped number 3 piston just over a week ago when the car only had 907kms on it from new, first things the ford dealer was told to do was pull the ECU and send it back to Ford engineering for checking etc. They were very skeptical and were pushing the idea that I had "flash" tuned the car (which I had not done, the car was bog stock), finally today they have given the go ahead for a complete new engine and all ancillary parts. As they say.....You play you pay

I wish Ford would give me a brand new car but there is no way that is going to happen, instead I'll just get my car "patched" up and then it'll forever going back to a ford dealer to get things fixed until the warrenty expires..... Well at least Ford customer service has today arranged for a rental car to replace the sh*tbox (deathtrap) that my ford dealer gave me until my car is fixed

  21. I wish I hadnt bought the G6ET now, shouldve just kept my MPS3 mazda for a bit longer and then got the XR6T that I wanted
  22. Yeah they had 2 EGO coloured G6ET's in stock, one with cashmere trim and the other with shadow trim, the shadow trimed car was the one made into demo stock (maybe I shouldve bought that car )
  23. Na that wouldve been the other G6ET they had, they had just regod that car the day I went to drive to test drive the XR6T that they had also just made into a demo car. I wish I wouldve just gone with the new sensation blue manual XR6T with luxury and tech packs..... Oh well im blaming it all on my missus as she was the one that "really" wanted me to get the G6ET, so I gave in to her to shut her up
  24. So you got a price on the G6ET at the Ford dealer (dont wanna say the dealer name due to possible legal action for there crap after sales service) across the road from mitsubishi factory?
  25. I wouldnt mind coming along, it all depends on Ford getting the new replacement engine into my new G6ET by then....
