  1. I fitted a complete LSD assembly out of a auto BF2 GT (diff had done under 12000kms)
  2. My G6ET has been fine since the fitment of the LSD, done over 6000kms with it now. TC/DSC still works like it did before fitment of the new diff and with TC/DSC switched off.....well it'll just hang the back out with ease under power out of corners
  3. I painted the upper and lower grilles as well as the foglight surrounds on my G6ET. Speaking of stuff ups, I was at the local ford dealer yesterday just looking around and noticed a brand new G6ET out the back with one "blacked out" headlight and one chrome headlight..... The salesman I spoke to said they are offering the buyer the choice of which one is changed.
  4. Just go in your birthday suit..... That'll make them
  5. Stock. I just changed the tip (to one I made up myself) as the standard one on my car was crooked and looked sh*t. Once the car has had the trans issue sorted and im happy that its completely fixed, the car will be getting some Nizpro parts fitted (intercooler, 4" exhaust as well as bigger injectors and tune) 310-320RwKw's is all I want for this daily drive car.
  6. Really? Well I guess at least the selling dealer gave me something then as they gave me SFA when the motor went bang, hence why my car will never go back to that dealer ever again for any service/warrenty work. The new dealer im using is pretty damn good though.....just got to get them to fix the damn trans issue!
  7. The books for my G6ET came in a nice padded black fabric cover with the Ford logo on the front
  8. Yep. Mines gone
  9. Na, im not putting globes in the guard ones
  10. Ya can just put normal G6E badges in there place or do what im thinking of doing and put the indicator out of the lower models in the holes behind the badges (just like herrod did to there G6ET), the wiring and plug is already there for them.
  11. Nope not until ya get a LSD fitted
  12. FTG Auto Salvage have a fair few BF LSD (2.73 ratio) diff assemblies in stock that fit the G6ET. Freight cost to country SA was much either.
  13. I was thinking of trying the Harrop "TrueTrac" LSD if this standard unit craps itself, dont really now what the harrop unit is like though. http://www.harrop.com.au/products/drive_li...trc9830-00.html
  14. Normally they are around the $800 for a low Km unit but I got it for $500 as they had a end of financial year sale. Install cost was nothing as I installed it myself.
  15. Yeah I fitted one to my G6ET a while back. Cos im a cheap bastard, I just bought a complete LSD diff assembly out of a BF GT from FTG auto salvage. Depsite what a certain well known ford performance enhancement business said, it was a straight bolt in fit (They told me told diff yokes would need to be changed but they didnt) In general driving there aint much difference (on a stock power level car) with it fitted BUT if ya like to pedal the car thru the hills or like giving it a bootful from the lights (and not have the TC cut in) ya can now switch TC/DSC off and just go for it.
  16. Yeah but as I said, the kms I do, the lack of being able to rotate the wheels around from front to back etc and the cost of "good" tyres in that size turned me off. Besides the way the cops are here in SA its best to have a "legal" fitment at the moment . Im on tender hooks with the missus at the moment too, as I did say when I bought this car that I wouldnt mod it at all..... that last about 3days lol. Bloody cars (bloody Fords)
  17. They are ANZ Velvet rims with Sumitomo HTR Z111 tyres. 19"x8" with 245/35/19 tyres I really wanted a staggered fitment but couldnt justify the cost of the rims and tyres I wanted (and the other hassle of not being able to rotate tyres front to back etc).....especially as the G6ET is my daily drive car and does 600-900kms a week. I got through tyres fairly quickly, my stockers only last just on 10000kms (yes I was giving it hell, especially after the fitment of the LSD)
  18. A small amount of painting (the grilles) and a different set of wheels, sure makes them look less grandpa spec
  19. Yep known problem. I had the sender unit (in the tank) replaced under warrenty which has fixed the fuel guage/DTE issue.
  20. Hey Mate, ive got the KFFL-40SSL front and KFRL-68SSL rear in my G6ET and its lowered it to 355mm rear and 350mm front (centre of rim to guard lip), have had the springs in since just after easter and have now done 7000kms on them so they have settled.
  21. Yeah mate fitted it up, all pretty straight forward. TC/DSC still works fine, car drives as good as before with it switched on and when its switched off it will pull nice drift style moves if I want it to, so much so that im up for new rear tyres after just 7400kms from new. All up cost me just under $600 (complete diff assembly and freight)
  22. YES I have track driven them both in the wet. AS I said before ive driven them both on track and on the road in both cold/wet and hot/dry conditions and all different sorts of conditons in between, I will also repeat what I said before ESP/DSC can not make up for a crap or "hotshot" driver. Stability control is there to assist not take over complete control. You will find that the performance models will have the stability control "dulled" a bit to allow a more sportier drive compared to there povo pack lower grade models. Dont forget tyres also play a big part in wet weather grip/traction etc and that's where I find the dunlops (sports maxx) fitted to the FG's are crap (plus the performance models are under tyred on the rear) Anyone driving like a idiot on the road in the wet is a dickhead anyway in my opinion.
  23. Well my FG turbo and others that ive driven around the track have got nowhere near 90 degrees sideways before its cut in and besides ESP/DSC is not there to make up for crap drivers. Go drive a base model FG (and VE) and you will find that the stability control cuts in much earlier than the "performance" models. Ive done over 10yrs in R&D in the vehicle industry and have had the chance to drive/test many different makes (Holden, ford, toyota and the now defunct mitsubishi) in all sorts of road/weather conditions.
  24. I'll see if I can make it along, just depends if im working that whole weekend (I work every second one).
  25. that's only because the Turbos hit max torque much lower in the rev range than the SS. I reckon the stock VE ss's that I have driven have felt like lazy slugs. Before I bought my FG I did seriously spend many hours driving VE ss's in both manual and auto form and V8 Calais V's but in the end it was the thump in the back from the "rush" of the FG turbos (especially when backed by the ZF auto) that won me over the most. As for the stability control, I find the FG's more "progressive" and able to let the driver have some fun compared to the VE's more abrupt and anti fun ESP. Ive managed to be able to push both cars around Mallala here in SA and reckon the FG's is just that bit nicer when switched on BUT when switched off the Late model camira seemed to hang its ass out nicely and with confidence just as good as the fords..
