  1. Im running Kings SSL's allround in my F6. They have done 15000kms in this car and the rideheight is still 350mm front/rear. The front springs were also used in my old G6ET (18000kms) but the rears were a pair of the new "style" that I fitted when I bought the F6. My F6 My old G6ET with king SSL springs
  2. That car had already had tune and injectors done before the ring removal hence why it needed the tune tweaked. As I said on my otherwise stock F6 the stock tune was fine after the ring removal. Moral of the story is remove the ring before doing any other mods or getting a tune.
  3. My dads G6ET has plastic intercooler tanks and its a Euro3 April 2010 built model. A quick look at where the cat is positioned will tell you what u have . The afr's and timing were fine after removing the exhaust ring on my F6, other than my car was factory stock.
  4. The original poster stated he has a 5/2010 G6ET, so it wont have any fpv badges on it but you are correct for Euro4 Compliant fpv's though.
  5. yep that's the little restricting sucker. Are you positive yours is a Euro4 build car? I thought they didnt start building Euro4 until June 2010 in readiness for the July 1 2010 compliant date. Easy way to tell is by looking at where the cat is fitted. On a Euro4 turbo falcons its mounted more upright close to the turbo and is a larger roundish type unit, where as Euro3 turbo models have a more flatter style cat with is mounted more underneath the car. If that makes sense. No real harm or effort in unbolting the exhaust from the back of the cat and just having a look anyways.
  6. There was about a 8 rear wheel killowatt gain after removal of the exhaust ring on my car (back to back dyno runs were done on the same day). The car was a otherwise mechanically stock F6 at the time of doing it.
  7. My Euro4 complaint F6 had the "ring" in the exhaust after the cat convertor (near the bolt up flange) Basically its a just a welded in ring that reduces the exhaust size down to approximately 2 1/2" (0r 63mm). Apprently it was done to restrict exhaust gas flow slightly to speed up heating of the larger cat con which helped the July 2010 onwards turbo models meet Euro4 emission requirements. I removed the ring from my car by grounding the welds out with a die grinder and remove the ring and then refitting the cat/engine pipe assembly to the car.
  8. White looks killer on the FG's with the contrasting black bits and dark tint on the windows. A G6ET/GTE rear lip spoiler would set it off just nicely, as well debadging of the boot and doors Did the KPM/FPV intake make much of a difference power and noise wise?
  9. I agree but with housing developments approaching AIR/Speedway city, the power of the land developers and the people living in the new estates around there will knock the 2 places on the head, especially any night events.... Just like the Rowley Park Speedway days (if people can remember that speedway track that was on Torrens road up until 1979) They already have time curfews for speedway city that didnt happen 10yrs ago when there was bugger all around except for market gardens. Cougar raceway has the problem of Monarto Zoo but the track will 2kms away from it and in a area already designated as a "motorsport" area due to the motorcross and go kart tracks as well as the model aeroplane clubs next to where the dragstrip will be. If people remember back to when monarto zoo opened, it was only ever going to be a "holding/Quarantine" area not a actual zoo as such. All I can say is lets hope Cougar raceway takes off and is developed into a much better "complex" than the run down, race into the evening sun, bob/rodney jane A.I.R, BUT whilst its all we have to play on in the way of drag racing for now, lets make the most of it and support Rino (pity old tight arse bob jane gets a cut of the $$$ that Rino has bought in recently)
  10. I never bothered to ever go to GazzaNats, so cant comment on the show... BUT I have been to Mallanats and it was bloody great. As much as Mallala is also abit run down in terms of its buildings/sheds etc and in need of a freshen up, at least Clem has diverisfied and got the skid pan happening, runs drift meets, mallanats as well as normal circuit racing (which is what I do when im out there).. Id much rather support a local venue like that than someone like bob/rodney jane.... Its just a pity that A.I.R is currently the only place in SA that can run 1/4mile drags, so Rino is sort of handtied to that place for now. Lets hope that now that the EPA and Murray Bridge council have fully approved the building of the Cougar International Raceway out at Monarto, that that place gets happening and gives dragracers another 1/4mile option to A.I.R
  11. 2010 F6 Sedan Euro IV update - Vixen Red, Auto, Build number 066
  12. Hmm this cruise is the night before I fly out to the USA for 3 weeks. Will have to put rego on the old BFXR6T and bring it out for a run if I do attend
  13. My G6ET would have a flat battery if I left the car for 2 days without starting it. In the 9 months I owned the car, the battery was replaced 2 times. I must say im not sad that I have now sold the car, dont get me wrong when it was running well (and not at the dealers getting warrenty work done) it was a great car but with all the issues I had it took the gloss off the car greatly. Mine was definately a friday arvo built lemon.
  14. Lucky I fitted a LSD into mine then hey..... Oh sh*t its just a crappy ford LSD that's fitted to the GT's which means it'll be stuffed in a few months LOL, fortunately for me the car is off to its new owner as of this friday
  15. Im running the sumitomo HTR Z III's in 245/35/19 on my G6ET and they are much better grip wise than the dunlop's that were factory fit, price wise they were alot better too (I payed just under $300 a tyre) BUT noise wise there lineball with the factory dunlops. Which means they are nice and quiet on smooth bitumen but can get a bit "rumbly" on coarse chip bitumen, for the price id probably buy them again when the time comes to get new tyres.
  16. BA's wont work with the DashHawk as the DashHawk only works on CAN (controlled area network) compliant vehicles the BA's arnt CAN compliant BUT are OBD2 equipped. The BA's used a different "protocol" to CAN. Here is a link of what pins do what on the OBD2 port: aUSTRALIAN SCAN TOOL Yes the DashHawk uses the VIN to identify the PID's that are available. Ive tried the DashHawk on 4 Different BA's and 2 early BF's and it did not work. If you look at the DashHawk FAQ link that I posted up earlier you will see why it doesnt work on them and other non CAN compliant vehicles (the wires to pin 6 & 14 arnt in the cars OBD plug, these are the data access pins) As I said before there are other scan/monitoring tools that will work on non CAN and CAN equipped cars. This SCANTOOL US 703 is the scan tool I use for all the AU onwards falcons and VT onwards commodores
  17. Sorry I shouldve said that the BA and early BF's arnt CAN complient Correct they have the OBD plug but they are missing 2 wires to the plug that makes them "CAN" complient (Pins 6 and 14). Having said that there are scanners/monitors that can be bought to use on the earlier NON "CAN" complient BA's and early BF's.... Basically any car that is "Euro3" complient (Austalian cars were mandatory to meet Euro3 from 2006) will be "CAN" complient and the DashHawk will work on. For example the magnas have a OBD port but the DashHawk doesnt work, also the DashHawk plugs in and powers up in my old BA XR6T but comes up with a message "cant find VIN identification" http://www.dashhawk.com/faq.html
  18. That wouldve been me Benny. I originally bought a DashHawk for my MPS3 mazda and now use it in my G6ET. Some of the "PID's" that it displays is Coolant temp, Engine oil temp, Cylinder head temp, Trans oil temp, RPM, speed, Cat con temp, Intake air temp, MAP, Timing advance, STFT (Short term fuel trim) LTFT (long term fuel trim) plus some others. The alerts can be set for any of the "PID's" that the DashHawk displays, I have the RPM set to flash red (shift light) when the car reaches 5800rpm. The DashHawk will also display and allow the erasing of any "check" engine light codes. Heres a pic of the one display that shows some of the temps (yes car is cold): And heres a couple of other displays: Be aware that the dashhawk doesnt work on BA's or pre OBD compliant BF's
  19. The standard blacked out headlights are on every model (not including the XR's) other than the G6ET (FPV's also use the standard blacked out headlights).
  20. Great to hear Johnny G that youve expierienced exactly what ive been trying to get through to people about fitting a LSD in the G6ET. It seems to make the car much more enjoyable if ya wanna give it a "good" run and doesnt seem to have any side effect/drawbacks (except for now wearing out 2 tyres at once insted of 1).
  21. Gee old man, switch the DSC/TC off, smash the throttle to the floor and smoke that rear tyre out of the bowls parking lot... Just make sure ya dont have ya windows down as ya may lose the cardigan and straw hat off the parcel shelf. LOL
  22. As ive said many times, the "ford" LSD that I fitted into my G6ET hasnt changed the car at all when driving it with the TC/DSC on. That includes both dry and wet roads. What the LSD has done, is make the car more enjoyable when ya switch the TC/DSC off. Back to back in the dry and the wet, my G6ET with the TC/DSC on feels no different than my mates auto FG XR6T in the way it drives now. (remembering my car has been lowered and has better tyres than stock, his also has these mods)
  23. Tab: Looks wise maybe but lets just hope the G6ET lasts as long as the old XR6T as well as being as reliable.....so far the G6ET has been off to a very very bad start, its had more dealer visits than a kid a on crack. It off to the dealer again this week so ZF can once again try and sort out the trans issue.
  24. Yeah it looks quite good, much better than the stock 17" rims that were on the XR6T.
  25. I put my old 18" G6ET wheels onto the old XR6T. Heres a couple of pics, sorry for the bad pic quality but they were taken with my crappy phone camera.
