Hi guys, I recently bought some new tyres for my F6 and they are tripping out the ABS & traction control, and also causing a brake failure signal. I took it to Ford Service and was told it was an issue with the size tyres I am using due to the rolling circumference messing with the computer, as they put a set of stockies on which worked fine. I bought the car secondhand with staggered enkei wheels, which I believe are 19x11 in the rear and 19x8 (?) in the front. Not entirely sure what the size of the wheels are, but the tyres which the car came with were 275/30 in the rear and 245/35 in the front. I got a set of 285/35's put on the rear as the 275's were stretched, which appears to have caused the issue as I haven't changed the fronts to match. Would putting 40 series tyres on the front fix the problem? I don't want to pay for another set of tyres and have the same issue. Is there a way to calculate this or something? Cheers

Thanks guys. I went past Bob Jane and asked a few questions. After the guy told me they were 8.5 inch rims I knew I was wasting my time. Is there a particular reason why they are 30's in the rear? The fronts are 245/35 As for tyre selection, what about Federal 595's or Kumho KU31's?

Hi guys, the rears on my F6 ute are getting pretty bald and I need some new tyres. I got the car second hand which came with enkei GTC01's. I think they are 19x10, but I can't find a stamp with the width, so I don't know what tyre width to go with. They currently have 275/30/19's, but they look a bit stretched to me. I would like to go as wide a tyre as possible. What would the best tyre width be for this rim? Here's some photos to give you an idea. Cheers

I ended up finding a set if steelies off a BA but they won't clear the brake caliper! My brother has an old BA xr6t rim, would that fit? Anyone know where I can find another?

Just bought an F6 and I've got a motorkhana coming up, so I want a cheap pair of rims and tyres to put on the rears and light em up. Will any old falcon PCD go on the rears of an F6 ute? Do I need to worry about brake clearance or anything? cheers

Hey guys just paid a deposit on a '11 F6 and am looking at doing a few basic mods to unlock a bit more potential. What are the more cost effective mods to extract more power? Also, someone mentioned tuning the ZF auto? What can I do there?

Taking account of some of the issues you guys have raised, do you think it would be a risky purchase buying an F6 or XR6t out of warranty? Would only be looking at something with under 30,000 kms, but I don't want to buy a lemon!

I honestly don't understand it, the construction of the car is virtually the same and the F6 would have even more pulling power.

Currently looking at buying either a new XR6t Ute or used F6 ute ('09-'10) for work. I have a skyline race car that I tow to race meets so I need a pretty decent towing capacity, and was leaning towards the Falcon's as I was told they can two upto 2300kg. However, I was informed today by a salesman at a Ford dealership that the F6 Ute can only tow upto 1600kg, and only the XR6t has a towing capacity of 2300kg. Is this true? He seemed pretty adament about it, but to me it makes absolutely no sense seeing they are very similar cars. Is there a difference between the Ute and the Sedan? Cheers
