  1. F6 UTE, perfect explanation mate, answered my question exactly. Now would this scenario be changed in anyway if the boost was say, increased substantially from stock? (ie would I feel a boost from standstill if I increased boost to 10psi?)
  2. yeah but then you would expect the pull to be prominent once there is enough exhaust being fed to spin the turbine and bring on full boost...but I don't feel that?
  3. Hey guys, picked up my auto XR6T recently and absolutely love it! Quick question though (may be a silly one): - When driving in manual shift mode and cruising in first gear around 40, then I boot it, I really feel the pull of turbo after 2500RPM's. This is what I expect.. - From a standstill however, when I boot it off the line, I don't feel the same pull from the turbo even at full boost...why? I hope my question is clear.
  4. Very true!
  5. well its more to do with the company lease process than the dealers. December is the worst case scenario, but I just put in my order yesterday so just waiting to get a confirmed 'actual' date on when they'll actually deliver.
  6. Thanks for all the great info guys, really appreciated!! I've made up my mind and am going for the auto mainly because: - I don't intend on modifying (well I cant really its a leased car!) - As much as I love hammering around the twisties (I used to own an integra type R - now theres a champion car for twisties!!), how often will I be using it for that purpose these days? - never going to track the car.. - used as daily driver for wife with kid Now to put in the order and sit tight for the long wait ahead... (december!) I guess the closest thing to an XR6T is reading posts on this forum until then! Thanks again!!
  7. harvyk, what was it about the Auto that nearly put you off the T? Im guessing it had something to do with being off boost when exiting corners....
  8. Yeah I know that if get an Auto, I'll lose the fun on twisty roads.. Just to clarify, not meaning to stir up anything here just want to get people's opinions so I can make up my own mind...
  9. Hi, New to the forum, and besides saying "hi" I also needed a burning question answered before I make the wrong decision.. Im about to get a leased car through my company, and am 100% certain on getting an XR6T, but should I get a manual or Auto? I know about the marked improvements on the MKII 6-speed gearbox, but haven a driven a mates XR6T I found the clutch heavy and the gear changes stiff and clunky. Im used to the Jap cars having lighter clutches and smoother shifting gearboxes, so its a bit of a difference.. I've always only ever driven manual cars in the past, but having a read a lot of XR6T reviews on the net, I've come to the conclusion that there is no straight line performance loss between AUto and Manual (in fact some articles state the Auto is quicker - is this true!?). The other attraction for Auto is because we just had a baby and the wife will be using this car as the daily driver and it would be easier for her while minding the kid in the car.. So I was hoping I could get opinions from existing XR6T owners who have possible driven both... Thanks
