  2. Me and my beloved MK1 XR6T manual have clocked up 85,000 klm's so far and to tell the truth I could not fault the car.........it helps when your son checks every step on the production line ( he worked there ) I havnt had an issue with anything except a funny warning bell and a refusal to start - it worked itself out. I am now fitting her out as a tow car for my soon to be purchased caravan and then we'll do the lap! I figgure with 480-500 nm of torque it should tow the bejesus out of the van! Cheers, Snail
  3. Guys I've got the MK1 T manual with all the fruit and had not a prob with the car! Maybee if you dont thrash the thing it will reward you with a consistent ride..........I will wait until the KW 's are fuly released........something tells me that the GT will pull at least 325kw...got to be dood to wait for. Cheers Dears.
  4. Maybe us dudes in Perth need to contact a few MP's so that the V8 message gets through otherwi se I will have to force the Bathurst issue with the other half and tent it once a year!
  5. Look guys it all depends on what you want from your car......I have a 04 BA done 85k and have not had an issue with the 5 sp man because I dont fry the thing! Any car will have issues if you fang the thing every day of it's life. Just my 5c worth!
  6. Saw mine being pieced together on the production line.July 2004 and now have done 82k.............love that car!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Snail
  7. 04 MK1 Manual XR6T Luxury Pack Sensors Sunroof 18'' Performance Brakes Prem Sound Limited Ed Seats Special Dished Pistons Dual Radiator fan unlike BF The original and best........done 80k and still pulls like a train! Love it!
  8. I was lucky enough to be invited to the Ford Blue Oval club for Sunday.........met all the Ford boys including Loundsy, Steve Richards, etc...even good ole Bowey.........great day only dampened by the fact that all Fords could not get close to the Toll and HSV's for mid corner grip - they were Loundsy's words not mine!!I seem to remember even the mighty Ambrose having to have at least 1 bad session before coming to grips with the worse V8 track in the business..... talk about Hicksville...it was embarassing to admit being a Perth lad - at least the beer was cold Snail
  9. OK...my time for a winge......the whole AVESCO thing hasn't evolved over the last 5 years to keep track of major manufacturing performance changes in OZ and the Aussie consumer...eg: Toyota now outsells both the Lion and Ford and looks like keeping it that way. V8 's now account for a smaller and more irrelevant market segment than ever before.....what do we see from Mr Cochrane and company - same ole same ole Given the fact that the moral champion Loundsey and Mr D@ckhead Kelly are now representing "failed" brands I would have thought that the scrapping of the V8's with a more street based comp with actual win on Saturday buy on Monday brands representing Toyota, Ford, Expensive Daewoo and Chrysler for example would result in less hysteria from the supporters as their real cars would be racing, more interest from the inclusion of bigger brands, and better engineering from all due to a more street based comp. At present we have a concocted, artificial and basically b*llsh*t competition - no wonder that Ambrose has left us for that oval office! Snail

    Bathurst 2007

Ninka, I have camped behind the pits and it was a great long weekend...fireworks and beer without the stupidity of the mountain Recommend tenting it with a tall pole with a large WA flag attached - you'll find heaps of friends and other interstate " guests". Snail

    Top Speeds

OK boys....here goes!!! 1. 310 kph in a racing square 4 rg500 suzuki at Sandown - I could fit into racing leathers back then and had about a packet of cigs at the end of each race 2. 250 kph in my stock XR6T - easy - handbuilt by the boys at FPV 3. 75 mph in a 1969 Expensive Daewoo on corregations somewhere between Ayres Rock and Pt Augusta - WE ENDED UP LOSING ALL OUR GEAR THAT WAS ON THE ROOF RACK Snail aaaahhhh...memories
  12. Too bad they don't have one that's any good. ← Like you'd know Captain 6 Cylinder!!!!! Now give that sh1tbox back to your missus and go and buy a man's car! ← Harsh but true Snail
  13. Just found out that the new territory is due out in 2009 although this may be brought forward as will the new Falcon ( project Orion )....this should be the time for a TD in both cars! Snail PS: source is very reliable ex Ford
  14. that's my point....last time I looked Ford owns landrover and jag....why not use those v6 TD's? Snail
  15. I really need an alternative to a kluger or Pajero diesel rather than blow their pants off ( which would be fun) but I need reliability - they've got them ( diesels ) in the jag why not in the terri? Snail
  16. I am looking at purchasing a car which would be used to tow a caravan (1.6 t ) around australia. My T will stay snug as a bug in the garage by the way. I wont need huge off road ability - just a gravel road and the usual corregations! Now I dont know anything which rivals the dynamics of the Terri- braking, handling, swerve + recover, towing ability,etc........... but one thing is missing as far as I am concerned - a diesel which brings economy and longevity to the donk. Does anyone here have any news on if or when this is coming? Cheers with beers, Snail
  17. Looks like a very quick boiled lolly! Sure to attract "the *rick" but I'm not too sure about race presence more like race presents Snail

    New Rotors

For my 5 cents worth I've got premiums and have changed to Bendix Ultimates which are a great improvement over the originals with good initial bite and far less dust! Snail
  19. After I polished my XR6T about a month ago I noticed a series of swirling scratch marks all over the front of the bonnet and front grill. It must have had something on the cloth. I have tried all manner of cut + polishes with no effect ...some have said not to apply on a clear coat - but what the hell they dont work either. Can anybody suggest a course of action? I guess I am facing the prospect of taking my beast to a paint shop - that is the last resort! All suggestions appreciated! Snail
  20. you and 3 million others!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  24. Have you tried out the Goodyear F1's........I'm running with these on the rears and they are outstanding in the wet with a AA treadwear rating. Also very quiet on the road vs the Dunlops. Good Luck with the addition to the family.... Snail
